The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Anyone else think Ciri's voice acting is terrible?

It is odd... I'm not sure what makes it in particular stand out as a sore thumb but seen many people raise this as well and I think so too. I don't think it's bad but something just doesn't fit that makes it seem really off, not sure what it is, for me the voice and what Ciri looks like/personality doesn't seem to match all that much for me any ways.

It stands out really bad because the game has really good voice acting all round.

Anyone else think the looting mechanic in the game is broken? I can pretty much go into any town and take all their food/weapons/items. The game will warn you if the guards are watching, but those are few are far between. The villagers don't give two shits that you're pillaging their houses. Perhaps CDPR should introduce a mechanic where townspeople will call the guards if they see you stealing goods.

You enjoy stealing from poor folk?

Is the quest "Following the Thread" glitched?
It's telling me now to go to Faroe and talk to Hammond but he's just standing at the gate where the last part of teh quest finished and won't move and I can't go to the next part of the quest?

Depending on how many sidequests you finish during Act 1 of the story, Act 2 can be really short. I finished it in 3 hours.

As EatChildren said, don't get too hung up on the act # you're on.

Is there a vendor for superior oil recipes or is it just random loot? I have superior recipes for everything else other than the two bugged bomb recipes. Most were obtainable from the vendor after finishing
the druid master alchemist quest in Skellige
.

Also, it's annoying that completing a quest got me 3 levels in Act 2 but none of the available craftsmen in the area are journeyman level to craft upgrades and you can't leave the area at the time ;p. At that high of level, you'd think CD Projekt would take into account that people would need journeyman caliber smiths (can journeyman do superior? I already finished the master level quests so not sure).

There's 6 hookers, the Spy, and the Warrior. That's the 8 I referenced. It's 11 total with the 3 Sorceresses.

I only went for 10/11, didn't want Yen to get mad at me for hanging out with the red head.

You can bang everyone without consequences?
I've been saving myself for the brunette for nothing?

I need a little help regarding end part of a withcer gear-quests.
I'm trying to get my Cat Gear together, and I did the quests for all the parts. However, now I notice that I can only make Superior versions of pants and gloves it seems. The rest I can't even make enhanced.
Is this right? I thought you got all the diagrams from the quests, or do I have to randomly hunt the rest down around the map?

By he you mean
Lambert?
If so do not worry, just find your way to Skellige and continue there.

Where do I get the Fiend Dung for the Chord Lure ?

Some deposits (4 to be exact) around the skits of the cave. First one should be as soon as you jump down slightly to the right next to the line of trees. Should show as a red pile when you use Witcher Sense.

OR! you can just go to Novigrad merchant at the top, next to the whorehouse, and buy the lure from him. He sells it.

if you're doing the quest then its just outside the cave, theres like piles of shit just sitting there

I remember it being nearby that little cave, somewhere outside. Use your witcher senses and it will be highlighted in red.

Ah, I see. Thanks.

Yep, it's related to that. And one is out on a hill a little bit east of one of the eastern island towns in Skellige. Some small quest stuff you can do that.

Ahhh cool thanks. Got the CE guide too lol, must of missed something, although it crams this all of this stuff on to one page.

Makes me wonder what the chances are of the new Mass Effect topping the Witcher 3 in this department. I hope they go all out.

Looking to buy a new game for June 2015. I am trying to decide between the W3 and Bloodborne. I haven't played any games in either series, though I have played a bit of Bloodborne at my friend's house.

Which would you guys recommend? The downside for W3 I think is that I have no clue what the story is about, and it's more of a continuation of the other two games, no?

If gameplay of most importance for you. BB would be a better pick.

If you want to get lost in an amazing narrative, characters, and a beautiful world with really really cool sidequests that don't even look like sidequests. The Witcher.

Both are amazing games. But i feel i've been getting more out of TW3 lately, than my time with BB. Even when i think BB does a lot of things better.

Not that I've seen and I'm in post game stuff now. Loved that little section though, a fair bit of effort went into making it for such a short sequence.

Yeah, that's sorta why I thought it'd come up again. Shame it apparently doesn't.

Thanks for the reply :)

Strange thing about yellow notice boards.

I picked a lot of quests from them in Velen, I looked yesterday on the worldmap and saw that the same boards were yellow again. I picked all the notes up but nothing happend, no update or whatever.

Anyone care to explain? Thanks

I think it's a bug. I also couldn't make all of it, so I looked up online where the locations of the pieces I was missing were.

wait....wait....so
looking for ciri in novigrad, skelliege, and velen
...is just act one?

Act 1 is whatever you want to be, given that the game officially doesn't have "Acts", it's a division done by the dude who wrote the guide.

Personally, it makes more sense this division:

Act 0 tutorial and White Orchard
Act 1 Velen
Act 2 Novigrad
Act 3 Skeillige Islands
Act 4
Kaer Mohen setup and battle, and a few quests that open up when you finish KM
Act 5
final quests done in Skellige Islands and the final battle

And even using this division Act 4 and 5 are shorter than Act 1-3.

Can anyone recommend perks that boost toxicity? I've really gotten into decoctions and I have the perk that boosts tox from 100 to 130 but I still can't seem to stack many potions, which may be by design. It's just satisfying using all my boosts to completely wreck some monsters.

This happened to me when I sold a bunch of contract notes that I had in my inventory. Just a glitch, I'm guessing. Just thinking logically I assume it's for high-level contracts that I've accepted.

Oh, I thought it would literally say "Act 2" or something when we got to that point. Then yeah, kinda pointless to divide it up into 3 acts (in terms of content/time spent).

Not that it wasn't before, considering the length of the segments depends on how much time you spend not pushing straight through the main quests.
