Happened to me and I changed the game to fullscreen, no crashes at all anymore.

I was about to say this was part of my problem as well.

I also didn't realize the game always defaulted to borderless window every time I started it up so I had initially dismissed that as my fix.

Anyone able to tell me how I can find my crafting level? I wanted to craft a few things but some of them are apparently too high leveled. However I can't find my crafting level anywhere - unless it's the same thing as my character level.

Yes. For instance, I want to lose the first round while keeping as many of my cards as possible in order to gain a numbers advantage for the next 2 rounds.

I can do this several ways. If I have a decoy, I can send out a powerful card, wait for the opponent to attempt to play one of their high value cards to counter, and they play the decoy card to recall my high value card from play. I've just had my opponent waste one of their cards. If they have no way of bringing that card back, that card is out f play for the rest of the game.

Another example might be to play a spy card in the first round. The spy card adds points/power to your opponent, but allows you to instantly draw 2 more cards. So keeping in mind you draw 10 cards at the start of the game and play 3 rounds with those 10 cards, being able to draw more cards is something you really want. Sometimes you can combine decoys and spies to draw cards multiple times. Say for instance your opponent plays a spy card. You can use a decoy card to withdraw the spy card into your own deck, and then play it yourself and also draw 2 cards.

Another example is medic cards. keep in mind that all cards played in a round are discarded at the end of that round. When medics are played, they allow you to replay a discarded card. So you can play a high value card that you had intended to use later, safe in the knowledge that you can easily bring it back when you play your medic card in the next round. Again, this can be used as a combo with spies like the decoy card.

There's a lot more depth to it, but these are some of the strategies I use in my early rounds to keep my big hitters in reserve for the later rounds.

Wow thanks!

believe it or not, this is turning into a big factor in my purchase. Sounds very fun!!

Would love to see it expanded. Wonder if it's possible to add in MP through apatch

I don't know if I should blame the game or my Xbox One...but this game is running like shit for me.

Constantly loading NPC's, textures while I'm running around Novigrad. It takes me a good 10 seconds sometimes before NPC's appear and I can talk to them.

Anyone on PS4 having these issues as well?

crafting level is dependent on the smith not you. So find another one.

Once in a while key NPC's would take a while to load or I'd have to meditate so they would appear.

Uggggh I got hit by the suspend/resume bug and just lost a couple hours of work. I was wondering why it wasn't saving (despite saying it saved my progress during the quest). I really don't want to do the escort quest in the swamp again :/

For the tree part,
is trusting the druidess tree heart demon thing the right thing to do
?

If you side with her she saves the orphans from the Crones who eat them. But that doesn't make it the happy/good/right selection.

It's not your level, it's the level of the smith. Amateur, Journeyman, Master

You don't have a crafting level, the armorers/blacksmiths/swordsmiths you visit have.

Look on the top left corner on the screen on their crafting menu.

Crafting levels go like this : Amateur > Journeyman > Master

Same issues on PS4, mostly after fast-traveling, and in Novigrad.

It's the game. I've had to meditate for an hour before an NPC (Blacksmith) would show up. (Had the sound, and the marker said he was there, but I couldn't see him.)

Further, a journeyman smith is in the middle of Novigrad in the square with the bards if you need one. Opposite side from the sign post, big sign with a suit of armor hanging from it. Many blacksmiths also have a dialog option letting one know where various master smiths are.

Are the Serpentine Silver and Steel swords good for level 5? I just crafted both, but I spent a lot of money on emerald dust for one, but luckily I had some emerald I could dismantle for the other. They beat my current two swords, so I'm hoping they are good ones to craft. I also have a master level sword, but the blacksmith I found can't craft it (yet?) nor do I think I'm the proper level for it anyway.

Yes, they lasted me a very long time. The poison effect was the difference between winning or losing fights involving two contract monsters. Around level 10 one starts finding swords with very attractive stats though, like +crit % and enormous bonus crit damage. Even chance to stun, freeze, etc.

Spoiler question for Keria Metz/Triss/Yen romance:

Does my choice to sex Keria earlier mess up my decision to go with Triss or Yen? I've already told Yen I didn't love her and Triss that I did. Wondering if that encounter with Keria is gonna come back to bite me in the ass
Didn't Keira say that they are only freind with benefits? I doubt ploughing her will cause any problem at all whatsoever.

So is anyone else a little underwhelmed by the map size? At least based on expectations?

When I combine how much faster you cover terrain and the lack of extensive networks of dungeons and caves or large interiors - is the world really in its total bigger then Skyrim?

I get the actual land map is bigger but overall it just doesnt feel as extensive as Skyrim or even Fallout.

Great game overall. The best quests of any modern RPG I have played. But the scale is a bit of a let down after the hype of how much bigger the world was gonna be.

I went from Serpent to Griffin, I did find a few better damage wise in between but they had little to no bonuses. (I figure the poison chance offset the damage I would of gained)

Made sex at Keira then later Triss. Not sure if possible to make the sex with Yen given that but we shall see.

It's bigger, just not as filled with as much extensive exploring shit like caves.

After finishing Skyrim, I feel like 90% of that game's world was just endless, endless cookie-cutter Draugr dungeons. Witcher 3's world might be smaller in square footage, but I find it far more interesting and explorable.

Agreed, I'd even say perhaps that this game almost feels bigger in scale because when you find something it's likely meaningful, and possibly even to the main plot. The Elder Scrolls games have a certain draw to them and the world size contributes to that, but a lot of the time I can't help but feel I'm literally doing nothing more than running past textures for the next fetch quest. Sure a lot of games could be boiled down to that, but The Elder Scrolls games are one of few where I actively feel like it's nothing more than that at times.

I agree it is a better crafted world. Much more realistic scale and design. I just can't help but come away a bit disappointed on some level.

It is hard to put into words what it is. I think the lack of "oh shit! what is this and where does it go??" moments are part of it. Fallout and Skyrim have those even if a lot of it becomes monotonous over time. That and how relatively fast i was able to criss-cross the map.

So is active Quen worth it? Ive read that on higher difficulties enemies will eventually hit you so hard that the healing from it would be worthless.I'm playing on 'Blood and Broken Bones' btw.

Bosses in this game haven't really been a challenge, it's the higher level melee units, such as the witch hunters.. they can easily swarm you if you aren't careful and on their own you can absorb a few hits with the active shield.

I used it late on death march if you get upgraded blue mutagens it is pretty good
Nice, melee build by any chance? Looking for pointers.

Sounds good, I may have to invest in it as a melee focused character. I think I'll invest some in Axii as well though since it seems really powerful.

Awesome! As long as they'll last me for a while. I need really good swords since I'm playing on Death March, and the stats for both looked (at the very least) really decent. I just didn't want to waste 500 and some odd coin in crafting them if there were other, better swords out there readily available.

Apparently you see her again (I can't confirm, just what I heard) but it does mean you can't give her any magical items and further the quests and what not with them. I've got some figurines that I didn't know she could do stuff with until after she had gone.

i have a generic sidequest with the map/letter which states: search for treasure in the elven ruins. the ruins are very tiny, it's almost impossible to hide a trasure in there. and yet i can't find shit.

is that quest bugged, anyone know? it's really bothering me now, lol.

I'm playing the difficulty below that but I didn't regret it. Learned the hard way to save crafting supplies, myself.

Didn't really have a lot of Crowns on me until Novigrad.

What's up with Jenny? her stats seem ridiculous for the level of hunt she is.

She's tough. Almost broke me as far as contract work goes. But I found she has a very basic rhythm, if cheesy, and of course it's not worth engaging her at all if she's not within your trap's radius. The fact that she hits so hard is the major issue - three pops, even at level 12 with great armor, defenses, and over 500 extra vitality. Just stick to her rhythm, avoid shades, take pop shots with silver damage bolts a few times when she's not in mist form but idling about.

Running away from the shades of herself she spawns is paramount, as she can gain her entire health bar back in a few seconds if both siphon life from you.

Not right now unfortunately.
If you intended to romance, you might have to go to an earlier save game if you have one. If you don't then lol you can still romance Yennefer

if not don't worry
she appears later and any minor subquests you can finish later
