for those that finished the game, how much close to done am I?
I thought I was at the end when I brought Ciri back to Kaer Morhen and I got everyone to help me defend her, but obviously it's not the end as what happens afterwards happens.....

It's kinda crazy cause I literally was sad and was like "Whelp, gonna just enjoy this end" and then, the game is like, "Nope, not over yet bro"

I would say a good few (~8-10?) hours even if you only do main story quests.

I am level 19, doing the level 15 quest The Last Wish. I am fighting the Djinn at the end and he is wrecking me. Is there some trick I am missing ?

Are you using your signs? I think I used an upgraded Quen for this encounter. You can also dodge
his electricity attack
that radiates outward (I think he does this
after teleporting
).

Your like

Novigrad is so boring. Took me about 30hours to get here and the last 5 hours or so feels like the game has just grinded to a total hault. Ive become a message boy rather than a monster hunter. You can't even kill a bunch of stuff as you travel from A to B, as there's very little going on in the city outside of the occasional hostile mob.
Need to get out of here, i'm a country mouse.

Head to Skellige for a bit. I felt the same way after jumping from story beat to main story beat. The main quest line in Novigrad is paced a little awkwardly and there is too much of running front point A to point B playing messenger boy.

Went to Skellige and did a couple of side quests for a few hours as a palette cleanser. Different environments, awesome music, some new enemies. Definitely would recommend it if you are looking for some variety.

Goddamn I am already so excited to finish this game, not play it for like 6-12 months, and then revisit for a completely fucking amazing second playthrough with the DLC and additional polishing patches.

I am at Novigrad.
Next quest is to go drop something in a box to meet a spy.
Is this a good point to go to Skellige and do some of the side quests I got in Novigrad that link to Skellige?

So has anyone here cleared all of the "?" Icons in skellige? I'm disappointed with CDPR for these.... Because as a completionist I can't leave any uncleared and that dang boat is so slow.
It's not necessary for them to have SO Damn many of these things spread around the map with the ones out on the water bring interesting 1/20 times. 50 smugglers cache arg!! Takes forever!

i feel like the game is designed to bump into these things while on the way to other missions.

Yeah. In velen and novigrad I was perfectly fine with them in fact I thought they were designed brilliantly. But all of the ones out on the water in skellige is just ridiculous. Hours and hours of gameplay and I've cleared barely a handful of them.

It's funny how the game tries to evaluate Geralt's (and our) loyalty to witcher rules, like do not punish murderers, get involved in humans conflicts, etc. But we all want to kill
Einar, Morkvarg, Junior...
.

Not worth clearing out imo, even on the way to things unless you sail directly over them.

By the way you can hold X to go fast in the boat if you didn't know. I think boat speed is pretty good in this game, it's Geralt's swimming speed that's awful.

The Skellige POIs in the middle of the ocean and on the tiny islands are the definition of map filling for the sake of it. I didn't even bother with a single one in my first play through.

I know I know but I need to do it 100% it's my gaming ocd I won't be content until I've checked them all, just incase they're something cool. Like the hugely high level arch griffin that was ?? Level to me and I'm level 28 and it one shotted me. That means it's at least level 39 so no matter what happens that's going to be a challenge I've gotta come back to.

Also can anyone tell me if the game takes you through that underground temple in the nothern part of ard skellig? Yes or no will do. I think the ? In that area of the map are underground in that area but I can't get through ATM.

That fiend battle for the
missing sons
quest was pretty fun. I've finally caught up to missions that are close to my current level and the game is fun again :)

I know about that and I think a double tap (like horse riding) makes you go fastest but k still believe the boat is still slower than the horse and I hate it it's just boring floating around the ocean. I wonder if there is a mod that can make the boat move faster.

Oh yeah the horse is definitely way faster than the boat, as it should be.

What they could've done for the Skellige ?s is have sea-based versions of POIs in terms of design and made it so you don't have to go underwater. What I mean is instead of bandit camps they could have pirate ships that you could jump to and forth from your boat and attack pirates. Instead of constant underwater caches and abandoned cities, they could have had boat wreckage and abandoned boats/floating villages. This way it keeps things more tailored to the sea exploration, but doesn't require swimming.

I suppose that would have tacked on another month or two of development time though.

About 30 hours in and just decided to hit novigrad. My jaw dropped on arrival , looked amazing and so vibrant , huge change from the open lands . I'm going to be playing this game forever .

How the heck do I get to this point of interest: (Oh, it's located at the center of a triangle formed between the Olena's Grove, Ancient Oak and Destroyed Bastion signposts in SE Velen

It seems to be next to/under/around a giant tree that I can't get to because of the steep terrain.

I killed a high level basilisk that was flying around the area and looked everywhere but couldn't get up to the tree or find the point of interest. There seems to be a road clearly marked on the map that should go right to it, and I can find the start of the road but after a little bit the road disappears. Help!

Ha, I got infatuated and reached there, just keep going until you reach the shore then swim to the right. You'll see some root s so keep swimming. You'll reach a deserted village with lots of lvl 29 ?fogglets

I think I would mind the sailing less if the water didn't look as bad as it does. Of all the things they scaled back, this one really does my nut in.

When is the new DLC quest coming out? I'm sure it's going to be super quick but I still want an excuse to log in and try the new movement changes.

So I used a wonky no-clip to get up here, but I have nooo idea how you'd do it normally.

There's actually lootable stuff on that boat.

Any tips? This seems like it would be dull to achieve.

Youtube videos suggest using Devil's pit. It's a dull one for sure since you have to make the enemies respawn by changing areas (Velen > Vizima > Velen for example). Even with SSD loading times it's still a chore.

Also, even if you hit the enemies in the face you have to get a screen shake indicating a headshot kill to make it count. The awful hitbox just makes it worse.

Probably going to just explore all the POIs now and leave this one alone until I'm numb enough with the game to get it.

Do it with single shot kill underwater enemies... that's how I did it.

Easy easy!

I am also shocked and appalled that AMD STILL hasn't released a proper crossfire fix for this game. I'm disgusted by this and I'm pretty much off the AMD bandwagon because of it.

Plus. Incase you haven't seen it but the view from the top of the tower that you can unlock in the north west of velen overlooking novigrad at night during a thunder storm is probably one of the most beautiful things in the game. I will try and capture a picture.
