It's because studios focus on IP instead of star power.
That’s a pretty zoomer exclusive list.
As far as spanning generations (I think OP is referring to names that come to mind instantly across all age groups)…
Maybe Adam Driver - because of Star Wars, and Chris Pratt would definitely be the biggest… I think. In fact Chris Pratt is the only one I would be confident to say stood a chance in this list across all generations to reach a respectable percentage.
Pattinson I think would be next… then maybe Armas or Robbie, but I think you are seeing dwindling returns at this point as far as mass recognition goes.
Uhh... The Rock has gotten old. His movie star days started 20 years ago. He may not have had movies like The Terminator, but he was in some pretty big ones like The Mummy Returns and Sahara. He's had a good run in Fast and Furious. I've gotta admit that looking at his filmography, though, he's been in just a crap load of movies that I've had no interest in seeing, including two Jumanji films. I find it kind of sad how many potentially good films he's starred in that it kind of feels like a mix of the movies just not being worth a shit versus did Dwayne Johnson simply sell out?The Rock in recent times had that Schwarzenegger style star appeal that could sell tickets and Hollywood were just making movies cause he was in it. But has never had a movie like Terminator to his name
Didn't even know he existed until Dune and looked him up and all he's done is artsy-fartsy stuff. The critics' darling, but not what I would call a Hollywood star.Timothée Chalamet? The dune kid?

There is some strange shit being said in this thread....
I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying that list is basically only recognized by kids and teens or that the list is comprised of gen Z actors? I mean, it's not really either of those since gen Z is only barely old enough now to go to movies by themselves or live on their own. I mean, Jennifer Lawrence is on that list and she's in her 30s. Everyone else is 23-28 years old. Not exactly young...

By contrast, his voice work in movies like Moana is just unforgettable. I mean like on par with Robin Williams in Alladin good.
I think probably the issue is that a lot of movies released in the past 10 years have largely been indistinguishable from dog shit. There is on a rare occasion such a good movie that you basically have to run out to the community theater and see it right away. That makes it pretty difficult to really gain name and face recognition if the movies coming out aren't appealing to audiences across all ages.
Who believes there are no Hollywood actors lolEveryone in this thread who thinks there are no more Hollywood actors, how many actors can you name from the 40s, 50s and 60s without Googling? I'm guessing there isn't many. My point is different generations have "their" actors.
Like many people who choose not to follow modern music artists, there are many people who choose not to follow modern Hollywood actors.

There are more actors than ever but no stars, that's the point.
I don't understand how that pertains to this but ok.My point still applies. There were Hollywood stars from the 40s, 50s and 60s that people loved and we didn't give a shit about.

Adam Driver should be an absolute HERO to all gaffers. Just look at this transformation!First person I thought of after reading the title was adam driver
The guys almost 40, nobody knew who he was a decade ago, and he's fucking everywhere now
Those ladies will have to survive the aging process without horrible plastic surgery. So many promising actresses never get to mature in their career because they totally mess with their face.Margot robbie and Anya Taylor joy as well have had a similar rise to fame
I think what's confusing OP, is that content is so much more available than in decades past (exponentially), that you just don't see the same names recycled as often.
I have no idea who half the list is
Another thing is that there seems to be plastic surgery "styles" that are "en vogue" at the time people get them. So not only do they end up looking unnatural as they age, it's also the bizarro aging version of a beauty that's out of style, if that makes sense. Those ladies will have to survive the aging process without horrible plastic surgery.
