So... what's the best website to buy used NES and SNES games (no eBay)?
I know it's owned and operated by ebay, but I really like half.com. They're more like a store, and I've never had any problems buying from people on there.
There also appears to be a fairly reasonable amount of games on amazon. You could probably find some decent ones on there.

As far as completely dedicated sites to that, I can't help. I'm sure there's someone else that has a great place to look.
You might also try local used stores, pawn shops, or goodwill kinds of businesses. I looked around local places like that not long ago and was shocked at how many NES and SNES games were there.

Is there any place to legitimately buy Legend of Zelda music?

I keep hoping and praying that Nintendo will do some convenient release of Ocarina's soundtrack with the 3DS version coming out, but I'm not holding my breath. It really disappoints me that the only place I can listen to some of these songs is youtube, and it would completely make my year if someone could point me in the direction of a place to purchase the music.

There were soundtracks made but most were magazine promos and the rest are out of print so expensive second hand copies. If you go down the second hand route watch out for bootleg. While there may be better lists elsewhere I think this list is pretty good

Is it possible to disable those splash screens that pop up on the PS3 XMB when you highlight a game? Some of them are 10 times louder and obnoxious than others, and that sucks.

Why do so many people type SONY in caps as though it were an acronym?

Hint: It's not.

Probably because that's how their logo is.

Got an Xbox 360 a few weeks ago, new "S" model. 4gb with added 250gb hard drive.

Question: Are the external power bricks commonly louder than the Xbox itself?

The fan in that thing makes a lot of noise compared to the console. (Compared to any console I've owned, actually!) I sent it in for repair/replacement the week I got it. New one arrived a couple days ago and it's about the same. Even idle at the dashboard I can hear it quite well.

It's in an open area, not much else I can do about placement.

I'm pretty picky about sound. Looking for opinions. Should I live with it? Is that just how it is?

Do all version of Infamous 2 come with a Uncharted 3 Beta? I wanna get the edition that comes with a controller but it doesn't mention if a beta is included. (UK/EU)

In Final Fantasy IX, how do you play Tetra Master?

I get the basics with the arrows.

I started FF9, and tried to play it. I found 5 cards and started a battle. When I put down a card and start a battle with another one, it assigns a number to each card. So I attacked this big bull with my goblin. It assigned the number 13 to the bull and like 6 to my goblin.

Firstly, where the fuck are those numbers coming from? One the card, they both show 0P00.

Doesn't that mean they should both have the same stats?

Also, my 6 goblin was able to take out the 13 bull (pretty sure on that). For some reason, a big number can be taken down by a small number. Why is that? I don't get it at all.

It's way more complicated than you'd think. There are some guides on the subject on gamefaqs if you're really interested, but you'll learn pretty quickly which cards are better than others.

Will it corrupt a download if my PS3 shut down due to power saving mode in the middle of a PSOne Classic download?

Is there any way to download game trailers from Xbox Live anymore? Seems they all just stream nowadays.

If you go to the game's page on the Marketplace it should have videos up. I don't think there is anywhere to go for "newest Game Videos" anymore though.

I imagine for E3 they'll at least be an E3 category where you can grab all the trailers.

Yeah, jsut checked.

WAY too much randomness for me to give a fuck. Seems needlessly complicated.

Thanks.

As briefly touched upon in the GoG thread, but because it's now increasingly pertinent, thought I ought to bring it up here:

I haven't owned a good PC flightstick for years; the most recent one I possess uses a joystick port, which I don't think has been on a PC I've used since I left university. I don't need the world from one; 4 buttons, stick, hat, throttle would probably be sufficient for my purposes. Any recommendations for a simple but reliable quality flightstick?

Edit: I then need to figure out how to get enough of a lip between keyboard and edge of table to actually place it somewhere, but one step at a time.

Edit2: Although if I'm playing GoG stuff, my laptop would be fine with it. My laptop with an HDMI out port. Oh boy.

Help, fellow Kingdom Hearts fans!

I'm looking for the highest possible-quality version of this trailer from way way back:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1v7jZQ4sys

It's in a muddy 240p edition at that link, and for my life, I can't find a better version of it anywhere. POR FAVOR PLZ?!

It's incorrectly labeled "Jump Festa trailer" at that youtube link too, I think, because searching for JF KH2 trailers find me something else.

And if anyone could help me identify the two tracks that play in the trailer, particularly in the second half, that'd be awesome.

You can hear the track much more clearly in this trailer:

Is the PSN Store not working for PSP? Whenever I access it I get a message about updating (31MB update).. after installing the update I still get the message.

edit: ended up just patching using my memory stick

Are the old Idle Thumbs podcasts archived anywhere? Both on their site and on iTunes there are a significant amount of episodes missing.

The old woman from Titanic could have sold the Heart of the Ocean for millions of dollars and given the money to charity, or opened a hospital wing, or fed tons of starving people. What a fucking selfish ass.

When performing a data transfer from one PS3 to another (the entire contents using the tool built into the PS3), will it copy over all of my accounts from the source PS3? Also, what about my Trophies? Everything copied over OK? Got a lot of Platinum's :)

Should copy everything over. And just sync your account online to save your trophies.

I know that Pandemic is shut down. Is EA/Pandemic Studios Mercenaries 3 (Merc Inc) dead? I haven't read any news about since 11/09.

I've only got a USB (all caps!) to charge my PSP but when I plug it in it won't recognise it and charge up. What am I to do?

Isn't there a "charge through USB cable" option in the settings menu? Or maybe I'm thinking of the wrong device.

Yeah, you have to connect it to a computer (so you can't do anything while it's happening), and you have to make sure the option is enabled. It's a terrible way to charge.

I am looking to replace the jewel cases for some of my Japanese Saturn games. Just the standard CD sized cases. However I note when handling them that they feel different than, say, Playstation jewel cases. The plastic seems different, seems heavier or something. They are the kind with the black disc holder.

Does anybody know if there is indeed a difference, and where I could get my hands on some new Saturn style ones?

This is the same person who complained about how cold she was when she lying on the wooden thing while Jack was in the freezing water.

Also what does this have to do with this thread?

With all the stuff I've been downloading over PSN lately, I have another question, particularly since the PS3 has no decent way of viewing files. For things like the full downloadable games (Infamous and Wipeout in my case) does the PS3 delete the downloaded file after installing it? It would be rather senseless to keep it around afterward. Also, can I download PSP games over the PS3 and dump them onto my PSP later? If so, will it then automatically delete it from the PS3 after the transfer? I'd rather it didn't for that, in case at some point I erase a game from a memory stick but decide I want to play it again.

The PS3 does delete game installers after they've served their purpose. You can download PSP games to your PS3 but you can only transfer them over to your PSP if you're connected to the internet. I don't think they delete automatically after you transfer them. You can also transfer all of your games from your PSP over to your computer's hard drive, either through boring old file managing or Media Go.

Yesterday my brother said he might get rid of his PS2 and all his games. He reckons he bought his X360 3 years ago, so it has probably been 4 years since he turned on his PS2. So I 'get it', I think, with the fact that he's not using the console. But the idea of just getting rid of a machine that brought you so much fun in the past seems weird to me.

Is it just me who thinks that? I mean I'll still pop in the odd PSONE game, say Resident Evil 2/3 or Dino Crisis 2 and have a blast on them. Hell, I play SEGA Genesis on my PSP on the can, even. Didn't know what to tell him. He did say he'd be willing to re-buy the POP games on PS3 in HD if he had a PS3, even though he has all 3 sat on his shelf and his PS2 is still wired-in. I don't really understand his reasoning properly.

What's not to understand? People are different. Some people just don't care about old video games, even if they did love them at some point. I keep all of my consoles and games, but I wouldn't have three Genesis systems (Geneses?) if there weren't people out there who valued the space in their homes more than the video games that occupy it. :P

can anyone help me pick out a cheap used game to buy tonight? i have never played any of them but they are all on my list of games that i want to eventually play:

- fallout 3
- elderscrolls oblivion
- bioshock
- mass effect

i haven't played a game since halo3 (i'm not counting fifa11) and watching the e3 stuff is making me want to play something.

How is The Darkness as a whole?

I played the demo just recently, and I was pleasantly surprised. it was really fun even though it released a while ago. And what with the news of the sequel, I was thinking of picking it up.

Sorry, I neglected to mention in my original question that my PSP is dead flat so I can't turn it on to enable it (although I assume it was enabled before it went flat as I transferred some media onto it in April).

Then you need to borrow a charger or a battery from someone else's PSP.

Do it, it's a decent shooter with a good story. Great ending, too. There are some rather dull bits, but the darkness powers are generally fun to use.

I've got one but it's an oldie.

On Double Dragon II (arcade) is it possible for Jimmy/Billy to perform the cartwheel move?

I seem to recall someone pulling it off a long time ago but I could be confused with the Spectrum port where it was easily doable when playing on the keyboard.

So I was forced to do a system recovery on my laptop due to a corrupted Windows 7 file. It's not too bad, I've only had it for few months, so I didn't lose a lot data. Quick question. I'm assuming I can recover my Steam account, but am I screwed on all my game saves and data? I only have a few games downloaded, but I'd really miss my Witcher 1 completion save going into Witcher 2. I know I'm probably screwed, because I don't think I back ed anything up. Is there anyway to recover game save data in this situation? Thanks in advance.

I turned my DS Lite on tonight and the L button wasn't working. After a few power offs & ons it started responding again but its left me alil worried. Is this a known problem with DSLs? I got it towards the end of November 2009 so I assume its outta warranty. Whats it gonna cost if the button stops working for good o.o?

Nah not really, though you might be able to find a game save to download somewhere online. I did that for Machinarium recently.
