How good are the Prototype games?
If I register a physical PC game on Steam, can I keep playing the game digitally through Steam without the disc or do I need to have the disc to play?

You don't need the disc anymore. Congratulations on your new coaster!
The only reason to keep that disc would be faster install times (compared to downloading)
Cool, thanks! So just to be sure, I can give the obsolete disc to my cousin (though he can't register it again on Steam) and he can play the game?
Nope.
Ok, guys, every time I look at my shelves where I have my consoles, I can only see madness: cables madness. How the heck can I organize this disaster? I have these consoles plugged in: Nintendo 64, PS1, SATURN, DREAMCAST, PS2, XBOX, Wii, XBOX 360, PS3 and, the new addition to the family, Wii U. Plus a video recorder, a SCART to HDMI adapter and a HDD with external supply for the Wii U. I also have a similar problem with the controllers by the way, I do not know where to store them. For the moment, I keep them in an IKEA box. Sigh.
Can anyone recommend me some shoot 'em ups with :
-Top down perspective
-Playable character that has a human appearance (so no game with spaceships basically)
I can only think of Touhou and Twinkle Star Sprites, but I need more to use as references.
Thanks!I'm pretty sure some Cave shmups are like that (I think I read someone ranting about this and that he preferred planes/spaceships, lol). First that comes to mind is the Espgaluda series.
Driveclub is a great racing game, but if you're looking for a simulator then perhaps Project Cars is a good choice.Project Cars or Driveclub ?
I'm pretty sure they are but haven't confirmed it myself tbhHey, are saves for the physical and digital version of a Wii U game shared? Google leads me to believe that is the case. I want to get the physical Splatoon version, but eventually switch to the digital release down the line and continue my progression.
Thanks

Is it possible to swap A and B when playing VC games on the Wii U? I am playing Metroid Fusion and I always hit shoot when I want to jump.
Don't understand modern PC architecture all that well, so GAF help me decide which PC
Component I should upgrade 1sr in order to play GTA V at a reasonable framerate (30+) and at 1080p.
Currently have an aging Core 2 Duo E6700 with a GTX 650 with 4 GB RAM.
Will a 970 be enough to game at 1080p for me?
Very simple question (I think) but I don't wanna ask in the main thread.
What's the problem with Angry Joe and Nintendo YouTube royalties? What's Angry Joe complaining about? I'm not sure what Nintendo's YouTube policy is.
Nintendo's policy is to claim videos with their games so they get ad revenue. Joe is Angry because they claimed his video. The reason it is a matter of contention is that Nintendo is pretty much the only gaming company that really does this sort of thing as well as arguments over what exactly they should be able to claim as "theirs."
Right now? NothingAh, so all the ad revenue from Angry Joe's video goes to Nintendo? Or is there a split?
Right now? Nothing
But Nintendo's program is about split revenue, 70% for the content creator and 30% for Nintendo.
So if Angry Joe signs up then he gets 70% but because he hasn't signed up he gets nothing? Is that it?
Because he hasn't signed up his video gets taken down. And since the video is down he isn't making any ad money from it.
Edit: I am not sure what youtube's policy is on ad money that was generated from infringing content before the DMCA takedown. I would assume if you post somebody else's copyrighted work you won't be getting the ad money. So it is possible that the original copyright owner (this case nintendo) will get the ad money instead.

Many players only have time to play games at specific times of the day. As an example, with a realistic day cycle I would only experience the world of Tamriel in darkness since I mostly play games late in the evenings. That would lock me out from many quests and make it a lesser experience. I like having visual variety in my one-hour play sessions. Why do games like GTAs or Elder Scrolls speed up the day cycles? One hour lasts about 10 minutes - I think I kinda hate that.

Yes, either hit the touchscreen on the gamepad (or press either ZL or ZR, I forget) and you'll go to the options menu. You can customize the controls for each connected controller from the proper menu (should be on the bottom). Swapping A and B is easy peasy
Thanks - I'm gathering there isn't a way to do this on 3DS, though?
You know how, when you've used a keyboard for a long time, you wear down the ink on the keytops so you can't read them?
I've gone one better: I've worn through the plastic on the keytops. And with keys that have been hanging on by slivers of remaining plastic for a while, finally one has broken off.
This has led me to think that I probably should buy a new one, at long last. And it's probably worth looking at gaming ones. I'm not enough of a PC gamer for it to be worth going for a massively high-end product, but does anyone have any recommendations for a good quality board in the £50-£80 bracket (That'd be around $70-$110).
I don't need it to be drowning in functionality, but durability is a must, and there's probably a few features that I would benefit from with a gaming keyboard that I don't have right now.
After watching Matt and Pat (of Super Best Friends Play fame) play through Silent Hill 2, I wanted to try some of the games in the series. However, I don't have my PS2 with me at the moment, so I thought I could try renting one of the PS3 games from Gamefly. Gamefly has 3 Silent Hill games for the PS3; Downpour, Homecoming (medium availability) and the HD Collection.
My question is, are any of these worth playing? I've heard plenty of horror stories (no pun intended) about the HD Collection, but others say that some of the issues were patched, and it's playable now. Of course, I realize there's a difference between "playable" and "worth my time".
It seems tricky, since I've never played a Silent Hill game before (Just P.T.), but I watched an entire playthrough of 2. Pat pointed out some of the negative graphical changes that would be in the HD version, but I don't think that would bother me too much.
Anyways, if anyone could suggest what order I should rent these in (if at all), or any other Silent Hill games I should look out for, I would appreciate it.![]()
I'd suggest avoiding anything Gaming branded and just get a solid mechanical keyboard. Tend to be higher quality all around and the keys tend to be easier to replace if ever needed. On the expensive side but you can find them for around 100 bucks on the low end (or when a mid one goes on sale).
I'd suggest emulating 2 and 3 or tracking down the PC versions. They're not available digitally but there's been threads here dedicated to getting things going like this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=488899
Play in release order. Downpour I'd only recommend if you end up being a big fan of the series and want to see how it peters out.
I'm not sure if there's a specific thread for this, but I'm having some trouble with my 3DS and transferring data from the original SD card to a new 32gb SDHC that I bought. I took the original card, put it in my computer, copied all the contents over, and then pasted them into the SDHC. When I put the SDHC in my 3DS, however, none of my games pop up. The pictures are still there, so some things copied right, but my games aren't there. I could redownload them, but I'd like to just copy them over since that's faster. Am I doing something wrong?
