This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Sarcasm?

It's a Dualshock 3. I've had mine for a long time and there's still nothing wrong with it. It doesn't have to be a white one, if that's what you mean.

Haha. You linked the white one, I was curious if there was a reason for that.

I've always wondered...Is there a reason why different versions of RE4 have different item prices/weapon stats? Difficulty maybe?

I think there was some rebalancing between versions. Maybe it was my imagination but I think the ammo drop rate from enemies was different between the Cube and PS2 versions.

Picked up a Neo Geo Pocket Color yesterday for $35 at a local used games/movies/records place. The selection of NGPC games was pretty sparse (no surprise there), and most of what they had didn't really leap out at me, so I grabbed Metal Slug First Mission and left.

Anything I should be on the look out for? I know the system had a slew of fighting games, and fighting games aren't really my forte, but I'll give anything worthwhile/crazy a shot.

SNK vs. Capcom.

So I prefer to watch YouTube videos on my TV and it seems that YouTube XL (YouTube for Wii) sucks slightly less now than it used to, so I'd like to use it to watch some Let's Plays. The problem is that searching really sucks on XL. I could search for videos on my computer and send myself the link in an email, but then it just opens in regular YouTube in my Wii Browser, which doesn't really work well. (Fullscreen ends up ruined.) If I click "switch to YouTube XL" at the top of the page, it stupidly brings me to the front page of YouTube XL instead of the video page. So does anyone have any advice to make this whole thing worth the effort?

couldn't you just favorite the videos on your PC, then log into your account on Wii and view them there?
That might work, but I'm not sure if I can see more than my last three favourites. xP I'll give it a try and see. I might also be able to make a playlist of the videos I want to watch. I think I'll have to make it myself, though, because I don't think I can search for playlists.

Dark Arms: Beast Busters

I have a question about why my Steam games won't run on my computer. Note that the only game I tried to load was a game running on the Source engine (TF2.) It would start the game up and get to the part where it says "powered by Source" or whatever and then it just closed. Any ideas why?

I just got myself a very good deal on a Gameboy Color, long story but I missed out on the GB as a teenager, and thought I'd go for some retro handheld action. I've played on friends a billion times of course, but never had my own :(

Anyway, apart from Mario Land 1/2/3 (Wario Land?) and the Zelda's, what other games are worthy of a purchase for either GB or GBC? It comes with Mario Tennis and Bust-a-move Millenium.

(This could be interesting...)

I enjoyed Conkers Pocket Tales (before he got all Bad Fur Day). Wave Race is pretty badass too although it's an original GB game.

Pokemon games if you want some old school Pokemon action. If you don't want the usual affair, try Pokemon Pinball or the Trading Card Game which were both pretty great.

I cant find a torch in the Witcher. Im not even kidding. Ive finished the game once before, but for the life of me cant find a torch in the first chapter. I hate it when I do dumb shit like this lol.

That game is so full of torches, how is that even possible?

So I just bought Neir, is there anything I should know? People have hyped it up a lot to me

When you get to the fishing quest go to the beach that has a big red X on it on the minimap. This is where you have to fish, and not at the beach that is directly next to the guy that teaches you how to fish.

If a side quest sounds like it'll be a long boring fetch quest, it probably is. So don't worry about doing it.

Good to know. I did remember someone talking about fishing in the game being annoying or something

I understand that even with higher specs, certain graphics cards are better than most, the main thing i want to know is why it's telling me i've failed the test?

This is from Can you run it and the game is portal 2.

Outskirts of Vizima, its a pain to do the crypt and whatnot without a torch. I have looked fuckin everywhere it seems haha.

There's a torch in the second floor of one house inside the village.

My Wario Land 2 cart arrived and I noticed when you play it and switch rooms the screen flickers a white colour. Is this correct? I tested it on a GBA and a GBA SP. Is it because its running on one of those machines? I haven't got my GBC at hand to try it.

The "Cat" potion that makes you see in the dark is really easy to mix and it makes torch useless.

Do you need special PS3 HDMI cables for PS3, or would any HDMI cable work?

I'm actually looking for a HDMI to component set, would something like this work on my PS3?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HDMI-5-RCA-Audio-Video-AV-Component-Cable-Wire-1-5m-/320597502304?pt=AU_Electronics_Accessories_Wires_Cables&hash=item4aa519a960
You will probably run into a HDCP issue if you don't use a converter box. Maybe someone else can chime in as well? Cables aren't my area of expertise.

A converter box would cost around 10 times that price; so I'm hoping the cable converter would work as well :S

PS. The reason I can't just get a component or HDMI normal is because my TV doesn't support HDMI and the regular component output of my PS3 has been outputting some mixed signals...

Is this the newer version where they added GBC colorization?
EDIT: How could I forget? Other great GBC games are Shantae, Mario Golf, Montezuma's Return, Crystalis and Game & Watch Gallery 3.

Metal Gear Solid (also known as Metal Gear: Ghost Babel). It's similar to the first two Metal Gear games, and it's pretty good. The only thing I hated was that conveyor-belt box level. That was frustrating.

I think so, its a black cartridge. So is it faulty or did that happen with that game?

I just got Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

Is it any good, does hand held Zelda really work?
I liked it, and I seemed to remember people here saying they liked the dungeons when it came out.
The main divisive point for people was the overworld and the train. A lot of people had a problem with you only being able to explore the overworld on the predetermined rails and that until you got warp points or had things to do while driving like fight enemies you just had to wait and watch your train go from location to location.
That's really up to you whether you like those parts or not, personally I didn't mind them and some other people in the OT didn't either.

I've just looked at some emulation videos of Wario Land II and they flicker white between screens too. It looks like a weird bug to me, but that must how it was originally, it's certainly like that on my GBA and SP.

I'm gonna get the Orange Box today and I'm wondering which order I should play the games. I'm probably gonna get Portal 2 afterward as well, since everyone loves the original.

Half-Life 2
Episode 1
Episode 2
Portal

or

Portal
Half-Life 2
Episode 1
Episode 2

This is probably not a big deal, but I just want to be sure what's best for me.
