You can't delete anything from the PSN store download history. You can delete your browser history by clicking triangle and selecting tools.

Just picked up a PS3.
What's the best (cheapest) way to get it running on my monitor through VGA?
Probably a component to VGA converter.
Does your monitor have DVI inputs? Get an HDMI to DVI converter.

Neither solution will give you sound though, just video.

My monitor has 1x DVI and 1x VGA inputs. I already use the DVI one for my PC.
Thanks for the help.

Does anyone remember the game Conflict on the NES?

It was a turn based military strategy game set in the present day that my friends and I would play for hours on end. Maybe I'm wearing nostalgia goggles, but I remember it being amazing.

Are there any modern games like this? I played WiC and enjoyed it, but I'm really looking for something turn based.

What are some of the current most heavily modded games for PC?
Like which games are still currently being modded (user created stuff) and still have strong followings?

how would one go about actually containing their rage towards certain games? seems like half the time when I get onto tf2 I can't stop getting angry at this or that, and I get stressed out way too damn hard.

I threw NG Sigma out of an eleven floor window, the calm that fell over me as I did it was really wonderful.

Realize that winning really doesn't matter in the long run.

You can read more about general mod news at ModDB.

To Grandpa Simpson

Definitely. There was this one mod "Fallout village something" that was so revolutionary that it got shown on the cover of one gaming magazine. It was a mod that let you build your own village literally. Like get the components and choose any space within the whole map to do it. You could also fill it with custom AI etc etc. There are other mods too. So the answer to your question is yes.

Would it still be worth it to play Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay? I know, I'm dumb for waiting 7 years or however long it's been, but hearing praise for it on a recent podcast has inspired me to finally seek this out. But would it still hold up?

And what would be the best way to play it? Isn't there a remastered version or something on the Dark Athena disc?

Dark Athena had an enhanced version of Butcher Bay on it with the new engine. For some reason I didn't like going through it as much as I enjoyed playing the original on Xbox, the guards seemed to have a sixth sense. Having said that, it's still a very enjoyable is slightly dated game these days.

A lot of people said Dark Athena wasn't as good as the original but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The game should be cheap just about anywhere these days so it's definitely at least worth checking out. It has it's problems but all round still a really enjoyable title.

While I'm here, why the hell does it take 14hrs to format the PS3? Seriously? I'm tired of the console as it is with all the updates, ludicrous size patches etc. It seems like nothing happens quickly with this thing but 14hrs for a format is crazy.

Aye, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay still holds up well after all these years in visuals and game play. I'm not a fan of the series, just casual viewer, but I still got a lot out of it for that aspect.

FreeSpace 1/2. Open source and with such a dedicated and talented following of moders they have practically given us several new games over the years. Babylon 5 total conversion in particular is quite amazing.

You could just buy the PSP component cables and capture it from there.

the card needs to support 480p over component though, good luck finding one ;P

i have the intensity pro and it only supports 480p through hdmi, that#s why i had to buy one of these ypbpr to hdmi converters too,but it works great now

So my PS3 Slim sounds like a jet while playing a game

What is the best way to clean it? Is it safe to use a vacuum cleaner on the back where the fans are located? or do I need to use something else?

I put some music on my 3DS's SD card but every song I put on there doesn't have any information with it. The album, artist, track number and year are all blank even though I tagged them all in iTunes and if I right click and look at the properties of the MP3s in Windows all the track information is there.
The songs play fine but since they don't have any information with them they all play out of order unless I manually put a number in front of each song's file name.
I don't suppose anyone knows how to fix the files so that the 3DS shows each track's information?

I heard that too. Was that Patrick Klepek on Giant Bomb? They were mentioning it has the best first person melee mechanic. I actually just played The Chronicles of Riddick: The Assault on Dark Athena in October and thought Escape from Butcher Bay holds up pretty nicely. Oddly enough I was just mentioning it this week in comparison to Duke Nukem .. ie "Escape from Butcher Bay (2004) seems more technologically advanced than Duke Nukem Forever". And I wasn't saying that to be inflammatory or controversial in any way. If the DNF demo was any indication, the two games seem to be on the same level game play wise but I actually thought the graphics in Butcher Bay looked a little better. It actually must've looked pretty amazing back in 2004. This reminds me I still never got to the Dark Athena part of the game. I should really get on that.

The gamplay is still sholds up pretty well. However, I have to warn you, you might get frustrated because of the gameplay structure feels outdated and mundane. But the fist fighting is still one of the most impressive close combat in an FPS to date.

Question about the downloadable version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas on Xbox Live.. can you map the buttons how you want, or are they set to just one option?

Use those Air Cans, you clean computer keyboard with

Also unplug the system when you start cleaning, just in case (precautionary)

I use air can to blow through the vents, then use my Dyson hose to suck the debris, from the sides
Clean it off with a micro-fiber cloth and Viola mint condition PS3 Slim

I'm a little confused about ps1 classics. I have Castlevania Chronicles and SOTN on my ps3 and they lag and look awful when played on a HDTV. However, they had Pocket Fighter at a convention and it looked great, was in widescreen but not stretched, and didn't lag. Did Capcom do something special for Pocket Fighter, does Konami just suck at optimizing games for the service, or do my tvs just hate ps1 classics?

Likely your TV. I know all of the PS1 classics have three or so frames of lag, but on top of that, your TV is probably adding some delay.

Does anybody know of any Genesis/Megadrive games that run in interlaced mode (320x448) that are not Sonic 2?

The PSone classics are exact emulations of PSone games. All the slowdown and whatnot was in the original game. As you can imagine, stretching a PSone game on a HD TV doesn't look great no matter what you do. No idea what the Pocket Fighter is about. I would say you might be confusing it with the HD remix of Puzzle Fighter, but that is a completely different game. Pocket Fighter was later in the PSone's life though, so it might of looked better even back then, and the proportions of the characters might have made the widescreen not look so bad.

What's this "noob tube" I keep hearing about in every FPS?
Generally grenade launchers or grenade launcher attachments. They tend to be one hit kill devices and you don't have to have a tremendous amount of accuracy with them.

I don't think he's talking about "lag" as in "slowdown," but instead actual input delay. Which the PS3's backwards compatibility emulator for sure generates (three frames, yikes), and his HDTV is likely also generating.

My bet is that he saw HD Remix too, though.

The attachment in Battlefield 2 was overpowered and fixed in a patch, and that's probably where it started and why there's a misconception that it's particularly easy to use, especially in close quarters. It doesn't require a tremendous amount of accuracy, but probably no less than a shotgun for example.

The first place I ever heard it was Call of Duty 4 but you're probably right. I'm sure it had to be in use before CoD. Maybe even Counter Strike? Was there a grenade launcher in that?

It certainly couldn't have been Call of Duty because the first non-WWII game in the series was CoD4, but I don't think it's a matter of which game had a grenade launcher first. There have been a lot of games before Battlefield and Call of Duty. It's just when that stigma started, and I think it started because of the overpowered one in BF2. There isn't one in Counter Strike. There's the M79 in BF Vietnam, which is coincidentally nicknamed the "Bloop Tube".

Should I open up my 60GB PS3 to clean it better? I tried the aircan/vaccuum stuff and it's so fucking loud after about 5 minutes of doing anything. It's getting nearly unplayable if I actually want to hear the game without CRANKING the volume.

I'm horrified to break it since I can't afford to get a new one for a long while yet and I have a stack of PS3 games still to be played lol

how would one go about playing the older ff games without getting pissed at the sheer amount of random encounters? I picked up FFIV advance today after hearing many good things about it and I had to stop because I was getting frustrated after being lost and getting so many encounters while trying to find my way back/around.

nah it was gem fighters mini mix. It was for the final of some video game tourney. At first I thought it was given the same treatment as the HD remix version of Puzzle Fighter but no such thing exists which is why I was confused. Come to think of it could have been from the Alpha Anthology since they were using the older ps3 models. If so, I'm really pissed they took BC out.

My PSP3k with OFW 3.69 has been nurtured with all-American download titles. My US PSN account is the only thing it's ever known. I don't know if you know, but FFT: War Of The Lions just came out on Euro PSN, so now I'm tempted to dip into that side, too.

Q: How do I handle multiple accounts on PSP? Do I lose anything when I switch to another account (say, savegames, DLC)? Do I have to redownload games, or copy them over again from my PS3 fridge?

Just bought an original Xbox. Times to play all the gems I've missed.

Already bought for dirt cheap:
- Jet Set Radio Future
- Panzer Dragoon Orta
- Gun Valkyrie
- Werckless (I know but it always looked fun to me)
- Amped
- PGR2
Edit: - Crimson Skies

What am I missing ? (the entire multiplat gems on PS2. Plus, I've done Halo 1 & 2 already)
