This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Err, no? Just a reprint. Or whatever they call game re-releases.
You sure? Alright, no need to buy it then :D Some games do that though, right? Apart from Demon's Souls across three regions.

No idea. Why would some games offer achievements for multiple times?
Only games to do that (that i know of) are PC and 360 versions of Games for Windows Live which have achievements. Like Fallout 3.

Was it ever confirmed that the DS Lite would be discontinued, or was the "Gamestop memo" all that we heard on the subject?

The Lite doesn't seem to be able to be purchased new from Amazon directly in any color, so I'd venture to say that yeah, it's discontinued.

Is there any easy way to use the dualshock3 for PC?
I remember doing it years ago, but having to install like 3 different things, and running a program each time to get it to work.

Want to play some games on my PC, but hate kb/m :(

How do Playstation minis look played on an LCD through a PS3? I'd like to know how the original Pacman Championship Edition looks in PS3 mode.

Do PS2 NTSC games run in 60hz or 50hz when played on a PAL system? Some older systems require a hardware mod to enable 60hz. Is this the case with the PS2? What about the Sega Saturn?

What was the deal with those guys in the original Grand Theft Auto that were always marching in single file and chanting something inaudible?

How is Ace Combat: Joint Assault? I've never played these games before, and I found some really cheap copies at a local Best Buy so I was thinking about giving it a try.

My sister is headed to Japan late tonight for a 2-week visit. She says she'll gladly pick up some games for me. I have a few ideas (Disaster:DoC, Chibi Robo DS 2, Captain Rainbow, Umihara Kawase DS), but I'm having trouble recalling all the great Japan exclusives I've missed out on. Any ideas? (Let's restrict this to DS and Wii unless you know of a badass last-gen game I just have to have.)

The original Rhythm Tengoku?

Edit: Oh, wait. OUENDAAAAAAN!

^How well do you know Japanese? Would you be interested in Soma Bringer for DS, Xenoblade & Last Story for wii?

I know almost no Japanese. That's why I'm trying to stick to games I can play without worrying about the language barrier. (I know I won't understand a bit of Captain Rainbow without Japanese knowledge, but I fucking love skip and I just have to own that game.)

An additional question: what are those non-Nintendo picross games that only got a Japanese release? I remember reading about them on GAF but I can't recall the names. I'd like to get my hands on those if possible.

Ohhhh, that's a good idea. I might ask her to look for Ouendan 1 and 2, also. Thanks!

That's basically every Japanese game I own; the only other one is Sin and Punishment, and that's not Japan-exclusive any more thanks to the VC.

I recently bought Uncharted 2 GOTY and it came with a single code for a bunch of bonus stuff. Am I able to choose what I want to link to my account with this code? There are skins for playstation heroes, some comics, some pinball game and such and I didn't want all that cluttering my download list.

Yes, you can pick which items you want to download for the PS3. I also have a question for this actually. Where do I find the comics after its been downloaded to the PS3? And one more question. Which console is the definitive version for Manhut 2?

Just to clarify, I can choose what I want linked to my account via the download list? I don't want most of the items from the code on my download list or my system.

On DS? It was probably the Hudson Puzzle Series (the Sudoku one did make it outside Japan but the rest stayed there). Slitherlink is the one everybody goes crazy for thanks to Eurogamer. Anyway, Vol 6. Illust Logic is the Picross one.

Outside that series they released Illust Logic DS + Colorful Logic which as you can guess has colour Picross puzzles too.

Why is Duke Nukem wearing the Neogaf logo on the box of the 32X version of Space Harrier??

So I started the last remnant on pc and since the game has no v-sync options i tried to force it with Ati catalyst but it didn't work then I tried to edit the "rush engine" file and changed the option "vsync" from "FALSE" to "TRUE" but it didn't work either. Any idea how to make it work?

EDIT: I'll post my specs just in case:

windows7 home edition 64bit
intel i5 dual core @2.3 Ghz
ati mobility readeon 5470
4GB RAM DDR3

No two ways about it, they are pretty darn blocky. Though better than, say, VC games on the Wii. Just depends on your threshold for visible pixels.

Ok guys, I like playing this GoldenEye on Wii, but damn split screen kind of sucks. But local kicks ass.. Is there any kind of way to rig up a system so that we casn play together on a local network?

I don't think these things support LAN (grrrr), so I was wondering if both Wii's are on a wireless network, can I somehow close out the net, or get them to connect to each other and play? Maybe even in the mod community a patch or something? Or is it just split screen for life?

Or could we go online and invite each other based on FC? Or is that not even possible because of the online interface they use (ie no invites) ? Sorry, I'd check this one but the game isn't in front of me.

Alright, I think I just fucked myself up. Basically, I'm moving so I was trying to get rid of my stuff.

I have a USB 8GB plugged in the 360, configured it, moved my profile and games saves from my 360 to the USB. All fine. I have few game saves on my other 360, so I tried to sign in from my profile on the USB but when I plugged the USB device in the other Xbox, it just doesn't read the USB anymore.

The only option I get now is the 'configure USB'. When I use the USB on the PC, it shows the Xbox file with 7GB filled.

Any ideas how I can recover all my games saves from the last 5 years?

Thanks and this sucks ass.

So I installed 2142 after not playing for a fuck long time.

Downloaded the 1.50 patch and the final 1.51 patch.

The fuck is with the population of this game? Has it really died out this quickly? There are 15 servers that have people in them, and only like 2 or 3 that are actually viable (aren't servers with only 3 people in them).

Whats going on here?

Is there a SecueROM license revoke tool for Batman AA GOTY Edition on Steam? I have clocked the game and want to make some room on my harddisk.

Or doesn't the GOTY edition need a revoke tool?

Library -> Tools

I don't have the GOTY version though, so if it's not there, you could be right.

Is your other 360's FW up to date? I heard that they allowed the Xbox to read bigger capacity USB drives with a relatively recent update.

I'm finding it impossible to change the graphics settings in Dawn of War II. I've updated to windows 7 service pack 1 and I have a 64bit processor and I've tried other online remedies. Still, every time I change a graphics setting it bounces back to medium or low after I hit apply.

hopefully someone knows how to get around whatever inaccurate system check this game employs.

Are you running the game as administrator?

archnemesis said:
No, just make sure you're running Steam with admin rights. That should be enough.

Ok, I set steam to always be run as administrator and I'm still having the problem. Luckily the game is fun so I don't mind playing with the shit graphics. It's just a bizarre problem that I haven't run into with many other games. It's such a shame when PC games institute these hard locks on performance.

Well, that's just weird. I guess you could try to contact THQ support about the issue. I'm also running Windows 7 64-bit and all three versions of Dawn of War II have run fine on my system.
