Gaf, am I over reacting?
I stopped at a gas station on the way to work. I had a $50 dollar visa gift card so I asked the attendant, who doesnt seem to speak much English and has been pretty rude to me in the past, if he could give me $50 dollars worth of silver gas on that card. He comes back and just says, We dont take this... and just walks away attending to another customer for about 3 minutes. Ok I understand, not his fault. When he comes back I hand him my debit card and say, Can I have $10 on this card please. Ive been trying to save money, and I thought I would just try the gift card at another station some other time when I needed to fill up. Because I was aware he didnt speak English very well, I actually repeated the word, TEN twice just to be sure he heard me. As he walks away I notice that the meter is going past $10. I beep my horn and the guy angrily walks over. I say, Sir, I asked for $10 dollars and its going over. He says, You say you want $50! Oh well you get $22, gives me my card, and walks away in a I dont give a shit attitude. All the while, he was just muttering about how dumb I was.
I was pretty angry at the time, due to the guy acting like it was my fault. As I left I opened my window and said sarcastically, yeah
Thank you for the great service
. I understand the guy probably works minimum wage, but you shouldnt have a bad attitude towards customers, when a mistake happens.
Its only $12 extra, but should I contact Exxon customer service to complain, or just let it slide and not bother me? Really its the principle of the matter that bothers me
