This is a thread about Tinder, men's height, and preferences with regards to physical attraction. At least I'm somewhat on topic instead of shitpost sniping.

I'm pretty stoked that being honest about my preferences doesn't exclude an entire race of people though(or you know, hair color), not even close, so fucking a', right?

Why am I (almost) only attracted to long-haired men? Why am I far more attracted to stubble or (short) beards vs clean shaven (boring)? Is it society? Surely not, that look has never been trendy (even beards, which are coming back in style, certainly weren't in my formative hormonal teenage years plus I hate the hipster beard look with a passion anyway). I don't know why this guy is super hot and yet this guy does nothing for me*. It's just how it is.

But online has no such interaction. Online is all about how you look first and foremost. You're not going to get any bites if you don't look at least okay in terms of physical attraction. Maybe you're okay but you're not taking the best photos. This stuff matters. Appearance matters. All of it matters. It still matters in real life, in face to face encounters. I'll definitely go for the hot, tall man with the muscles by default, but until you show me you have more to offer and I get to know you more that's what it's gonna be.

Haha, 6-to-8, yeah something similar happened to me with a co-worker. When I first met him he didn't register to me as attractive, just average. But working with him and getting to know him, I found him a very cool person, intelligent, thoughtful, funny. I was already in a relationship so I wasn't romantically interested whatsoever, but even as a friend I found myself thinking "hey he's actually pretty good looking after all". Appreciating his personality somehow made his physical features appear more attractive.

Likewise, I once met a guy I thought was cute, but he ended up being dumb as a rock, like powerfully stupid and clueless. Now suddenly all I could think of was how stupid his face looked, with his pouty lips and dull, bovine eyes, and I couldn't ever fathom how I ever found him cute to begin with. xD
