Good god...

I've been reading it every week for lord knows how long now, and I didn't even clue in that it's been four years since the final arc began @_@
I mean I remember when it began that it was announced as the final one, but, jeez, that was 2012?

At least he's not the worst, Tsuna!

Eh, Tsuna has a decent variety of moves. Flight, punches, and energy blasts, sure, but he can also absorb energy and freeze stuff. There are also those weapons that he only uses once, like that cloak.

Anyway, people keep bringing up the first opening, but it generally had some great OPs.
2 - Soul Society start, famous for its fights that never happen
3 - Soul Society end
5 - Arrancar start
9 - Rescue Orihime... middle?
11 - Rogue Zanpakuto filler
12 - Fake Karakura Town last Arrancar battles
13 - Aizen battle, say what you will about the actual quality of the events, but this opening was damn good at presenting future events in a stylish way
14 - Clone filler arc
15 (final) - Fullbringer arc

Man, didn't Ichigo's high school friends get some kind of power up? Not to Shinigami levels, but still something. Ichigo's sisters too. And Kubo never did anything with that.

This manga sucks.
Let's imagine a Bleach where they never "landed on Namek."

But seriously. They hinted at Tatsuki getting powers, but that was never mentioned again. Even his dad, with that huge reveal, barely plays a role. But, we get ridiculous 15 chapter fights...

The main problem is there's far, far, far too many protagonists. That in itself isn't a problem, look at One Piece, but Kubo doesn't know how to pick a core group and focus on them.

Tsuna is more interesting to watch fight than Ichigo is, which is litterally ranged getsuga parry parry close range getsuga or slash. Tsuna at least has the whole booster rocket motife with punches and kicks combined with some techs.

At the very least in the anime, Hollow Ichigo was a thing of beauty watch fight with the speed and sword rope techniques that Ichigo pretty much never uses in Shikai

Fucking yay!!! Hope it's animated. No idea what happens after Aizen was locked away, but I hope Rukia gets bankai and fucks shit up against the new big bad guy/girl. Yoruichi also better get some more spotlight too. Everyone else get fucked

Sorry I read the quote wrong, though it was about Ichigo as a character.

That has to be my biggest problem with Bleach. I see characters like Tatsuki, Karin, and others that I get excited about becoming bigger characters, and then Kubo decides to introduce 15-20 new characters instead. And those new characters fall into the awful shonen trap of being power sets first and good characters second.

I legit forget if Rukia has done anything in this four-year final arc, and she was introduced as an almost co-protagonist in the very first chapter!

Editor ask Kubo not to focus on Ichigo friends(Keigo and Tatsuki) and just move forward with Ichigo going to Hucdo Mundo.

She used her Bankai to kill one of the lesser Sternritter and has now gone back to being a background character like everyone else the plot doesn't currently call for.

Then you'll want to strap in for some mediocrity and get your wish.

I stopped reading when Aizen came out to troll and *Not Hitler was bending reality. It just got so ridiculous. People who shouldn't be sympathized with (convention in Shounen that's usually a redemption arc but used by Kubo to make temporary! Allies every time) coming together to be useless slags with the other afterthoughts given gold plated titles like captain or something. You have techniqueceptions that don't even make sense, power levels fluctuating in the span of two chapters and an MC whose brightest roles are *Glare, 'No way!' 'IMPOSSIBLE' and let's not forget the 'I'll stop you!' While not stopping anything.

You're telling me Aizen wasn't the secret protagonist already?
Well, to be serious, at least for me, Aizen actually is the protagonist of Bleach. He's by far the most interesting character and I never perceived him as being actually evil. He was bent on destroying the artificial separation of Shinigami and Hollows, showing that they have far more in common than what divides them (see Vizards and Arrancar). Basically the whole state of the world as created by the Soul King is shown to be an absolute mess, creating unnecessary conflict and suffering. And when the Soul King was revealed to be this horrible abomination, I could fully support Aizen's agenda of destroying that... thing and take it's place. And concerning the killing of the Central 46, that was certainly a very questionable action, but I wonder why no one ever tried to strip them of their power before. They are shown to be a despicable bunch of old aristocrats who have never made a good - as in justified - decision over the course of the whole series. What they did to Shinji and Co. was absolutely inexcusable, as was the death sentence for Nanao's mother. And they certainly don't care for the outer districts of Rukongai.
I don't think that the end justifies the means in general, but in the long run, Aizen's actions resulted in more benefits then harm overall. At least he showed everyone, and especially Ichigo, that the state of the world as it is in Bleach it's nothing worth keeping and that some change is desperately needed (as in bringing Shinigami and Hollows together, get a Soul King who actually cares about the world and isn't some kind of mindless monstrosity etc.)

That analysis on Aizen is a great read. Most of what I'd been thinking of was expanded on and shows how little Kubo really planeed anything out.

Also in hindsight, how dumb of the Soul Society to send in Unohana to heal the humans, rather than stay and heal the main players during war.

Or Wonderweiss one shotting Ukitake

I'd argue the problem is that he does play blatant favorites with a core group and lets other characters rot on the vine. The core group (aside Ichigo himself), are Renji, Byakuya, Zaraki, Hitsugaya, Kurotsuchi, Kyouraku, Rukia, and sometimes Those Two Guys from Squad 11. Everyone else is fodder or a distraction. Even super-competent guys like Urahara, Yamamoto, Yoruichi, and Isshin ultimately don't get to do much.

What became of Unohana was criminal and i still haven't gotten over it. Her entire mysterious backstory was a setup so that she could die to make Zaraki stronger, encapsulates everything wrong with his character favoritism in general.

So that guy's main gripe with Aizen is that he's too strong and had no real motivation for what he did. Oh man, I hope he's keeping up with the current villain.

The only thing I would look forward if this arc, for some reason, is animated is the soundtrack and the omakes. Miss the Shinigami Colored Book and Arrancar Encyclopedia (the latter wont return though, which makes me sad).

It's Ichigo speculating about Aizen's motives, nothing more. And Aizen's final words before him being sealed ("That is a loser's reasoning! A winner has to speak not of the world as it is, but how it should be!") are more than a subtle hint on what's his underlying motivation. The fact alone that seemingly no other character in the series realized that the status quo of the series' world is despicable, or if they realized - like Urahara seems to, at least it's implied by his reaction on Aizen's hatred against SK - didn't at least try to change it for the better, makes them all far less likeable than Aizen.
The Vandenreich was planning the invasion of SS for centuries, as was Juha concerning the reunion with the SK (SS didn't hide his parts for nothing). Had Aizen succeeded in destroying the SK and take its place, the Bleach world would not be in this dire situation it's in by the moment. So until proven otherwise, as in explicitly stated in the manga itself, I'll stick to the interpretation that Aizen's doing was for the greater good overall. And that's what I think Kubo is aiming for (once again: only a theory so far, so let's see how - and if - Kubo will bring all the threads together).

Imagine if Aizen did take the place of the Soul King. Then when Yhwach went to go kill him, we'd get the best fight of the series.

"All according to plan."
"Yes. My plan."
"No, my plan."
"I saw this from the beginning."
"No, I controlled what you saw."
"No, I saw that before you did it. I see everything."
"Yes, and I tricked all of your visions."

And so on. Way better than that Ichibei "you have no name" crap.

No it's not. It's the classic trope of when 2 characters clash they will understand each other though their swords. If it's just mean to be Ichigo thoughts on why Aizen is doing this, why didn't Urahara just call him out on it? Or someone else call Ichigo out on his thoughts if those weren't suppose to be why Aizen was doing it. It's the main character saying why the villian did this, and no one calls him out on it, nor is it ever talked about why Aizen did all this afterwards to show Ichigo he was wrong. It's what we are meant to take from it all, and it's fucking garbage.

I admit the SS is shit place, but that's not what we are suppose to get from why Aizen was doing all this in the end (most specially why he did all this), especially if the main character says as much and no one calls him out on it.

For more info on why the Soul Society sucks, read this: http://theappliedlogic.blogspot.com/2012/12/bleach-analysis-souls-guide-to-soul_1.html

Remember that one lesbian classmate they had? Chihiro? I can't believe she just straight up got written out lol. Same with that tall girl with the long black hair, the short curly haired girl with big boobs, and this one girl with short hair that wire a hairpin I think.

He's not done with Aizen yet. You don't go through all that drama just to have him sit in a chair in the basement. The fact that the Soul King looked strangely like Aizen might still play a part.

Yeah, for sure. At this point, we already know that Yhwach can't be overpowered, so they'll likely need someone like Aizen to deal with him.

Well, they don't talk about it afterwards because Aizen's story isn't finished yet. If this would have been all there is to it, there would be no reason to bring Aizen back. It will be wrapped up in the final Arc, or that's what I hope at least. There are far too many loose ends that need to be brought together, or else Kubo would be the worst author of all time. So as long as the Manga is still ongoing, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt (and stick to my interpretation, as it makes more sense than this possible half-assed Kubo solution that wouldn't explain anything).

This manga sucks.

Oh you mean when at Hueco Mundo? And not long after went completely useless?

Oh you mean during Ichigo vs Ginjo arc? And not long after went completely useless?

Oh you mean during this current arc? And are now completely useless?

Ahahahaa.......oh Kubo, never change.

Honestly, i look at this way too big cast and I like to try and pick which one will be the MC of Kubo's next series, which will hopefully be better. I really like his art and character designs, even if they get really whacky(I unironicly like that big dumb hand). Popularity polls would probably suggest Hitsguya, but my hopes are on Renji. He is infinitely cooler than Ichigo and I like his fights way better because he has the chance of losing(or atleast fucking himself up bad). As for main villain, the poison dude had a pretty neat personality, or even memory fullbringer guy if only because his primary form of antagonism was trolling.

You gonna listen to Ichigo? lol Aizen may have done the hollowfication stuff to try to see if he could make other beings stronger, but that had nothing to do with why he wanted to defeat the Soul King. He thought the SK was doing a shit job and it surely seems that he was spot on. If he just wanted a challenge the dude would have fought Yama straight up, or sought out Yhwach. Or befriended Urahara and asked him to Batman up some challenging shit. Your theory makes no sense.

It's not a theory, it's what the main character says what he wanted. You right it doesn't make sense why Aizen did what he did for what he wanted as told by Ichigo. Because you know why? Because Kubo is a shitty writer. Because he didn't plan Aizen ahead of time, he made shit up along the way and forgot stuff and came up with some stupid explanation for why he did all this that doesn't work. No way Kubo wouldn't have had Ichigo say that if that not what he wanted people to get why Aizen was doing all this. People can say Aizen story not done, but it is. This is where he was the main villain for years and just defeated. If there was any time to understand a villain motives it would be then and you know what we got...Ichigo reactions and we have yet to have anyone say he's wrong for what he said. This is what Kubo leave Aizen motives with.

All logic points to Aizen joining the fight but this is bleach we are taking about. It could just end with the chair being empty as the final scene. In a world where hitman reborn and soul eater just ended with a big pile of nothing, you can never tell.

Or we could just wait for the manga to actually be finished and reserve our final judgement until then^^

Either way, we now know that Aizen was right the whole time. The SK should have been destroyed, it would have saved SS (and the Bleach universe as a whole) lots of trouble. Urahara not as smart as he thought, his poor decision came right back to bite him (and everybody else) in the ass. I like that^^ That's what you deserve for messing with Aizen.

Ichigo was trying to make Aizen into a sympathetic figure, it wasn't trying to explain his motives regarding the Soul King. Ichigo was essentially thinking out loud, answering his own questions about why Aizen decided to manipulate his life like that. That was just a side show for Aizen.

I hope Kubo goes full troll with ending because it's the only way I would give a shit. This is what happens when you protagonist is as interesting as a rock.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
This news came from Volume 73, which includes Chapters 664-674.
The chapters that haven't been collected are 675-680. If the final volume contains 11 chapters as well, then there's at least five chapters left. Maybe six.

Either way, this is going to be a rushed as hell ending with no satisfaction. Should have ended when you were on top Kubo.

I really hope this series ends and we find out it was Orihime daydreaming from the first chapter

oh wow

Talk about the most boring, nonsensical climax ever. This is even worse than Black Cat.

God help us if the ending's worse than Reborn's. I'd say that would take some effort, but considering Bleach's output in the last several years...

To Reborn's credit, it was apparently canceled. The author definitely wanted to continue with the series, and even drew concepts of what she wanted to do.
