I have a suspicion that what happened is that Bleach's numbers have been dropping steadily for years, so Kubo told the editors and readers that this was the final arc, to put a finish line in sight, and he planned out a bunch of plot threads and such.
Fast forward, and the "final arc" has gotten out of hand, with too much going on, and hasn't boosted Bleach's rating the needed amount, so a ton of stuff's getting trimmed and forgotten and Kubo's being goaded towards just getting it over with already.

The Yu Yu Hakusho manga seemed to end just due to lack of interest of the author though. The manga has an extremely rushed final tournament, even more than the anime one (I think the tournament itself only takes 2 chapters or something stupid like that), but then you get a 6 chapter long epilogue afterwards, which the anime reduced to a single episode (although the Mukuro flashback stuff was here in the manga and had been moved to earlier in the anime).

Yeah, the anime stopped a while ago and there has been no news about it returning. Bleach never had high ratings, but had good sales for a long running show, but those died during the 2nd half of the Arrancar arc. There's also how the hell movie was a failure.

Yes, the anime ended in 2012. I wonder if they'll pull a Inuyasha and release a final season or two to finish off the series once the manga is completed.
Maybe if it's funded by Adult Swim. But we'll see if there's still a fanbase in Japan that wants it first.

I seriously think Kubo started off the arc with vastly different plans.
The entire beginning with arrancar working for the Quincies, Halibel captured and the Quincies running Hueco Mondo was just dropped.

It's possible if there's enough interest, but considering how poor the final arc has been, it's doubtful the anime will be revived any time soon.

That reminds me another example of Kubo's bad writing. Everyone thinks Aizen's bankai is some epic game-changing thing that has yet to be revealed... I think Kubo just made his Shikai wayy OP and had written himself into a corner.

Plot twist,he has no shikai or bankai or even a sword,because he is the sword it self(that doesn't make any sense,but i am sure kubo gonna write something like that that doesn't make sense).

They kinda already did that, Aizen and Ichigo's "final forms" had the side effect of fusing them with their swords.

Ichigo beats Aizen, but loses his powers.
Kubo tried to go in a different direction for a bit by copying aspects of Chapter Black from Yu Yu Hakusho, but fell back on Ichigo becoming a Soul Reaper again.
The anime stops there.
EDIT: Mayuri is still alive, and no one ever brings up that he tortured and experimented on Quincies.

So it's finally coming to an end eh? About time. I stopped reading it when the Fullbringer arc started because I just lost interest in it completely. Love the art style, but it started to drag on like crazy that I just couldn't stomach it anymore. Really enjoyed the hueco mundo arc even though that also lasted a long time lol

Bleach (and Naruto) were never that good especially later on and came to embody the worst cliches in Shonen manga. Here's hoping with 2 of the big 3 ending that better material is on the horizon to overshadow them in not only quality but popularity.

To be worse we'd need it to be that Yhwach just walks off and they go "Welp back to being a newbie substitute shinigami." In that the main bad guy completely wins and it turns out it doesn't fucking matter anyway.
Next worst is a mediocre rushed final battle or another spontaneous power up that clinches it. Which would be true to form for Bleach.

I sorta feel bad for Kubo..sorta. Considering how large the cast already was and how many groups there were, introducing all this other bullshit was absolutely the last thing he should have been doing. It's like the goal for every arc is to double the cast size.
Fuck Reborns ending. Fuck Shounen Jump for ditching it. Fuck the censored anime which still had it's awesome moments. I miss Reborn.

The only sweet note is that even if the manga became shitty
the ending cannot be shittier than Naruto war arc/ending/epilogue ... /hope ... Just remembering how he handled the Wizard make me want to cry, they were so cool especially Sarugaki Hiyori and Hirako Shinji ...

Probably the one I disliked the most. Really jarring shift from the first and second OPs and I don't listen to that kind of music.
I don't feel bad about Kubo. I feel there were a lot of chapters that felt like filler in an arc that was suppose to be this grand finale. So much crap could have been condensed to fit more into each chapter.
Now his habit of having plot development move at glacial speed has bit him in the ass.

Ironically, Fullbringer is miles better compared to the current arc. I thought Fake Karakura Town arc was the lowest point in Bleach history but Kubo decided to do something even worse. Shame, since this arc started good.
This and D-Tecnolife was what Bleach is to me. Ichirin no Hana had the better clips, though. That Bankai.
Nothing will ever top the GOAT, though
Back in the day when Bleach seemed like a sort of high-school drama combined with a superhero story... those were the good days.
