Ill be honest best way to end is full troll. Next chapter ends with ymwacha pulling off the mask to reveal it was aizen all along and this is the true form of his bankai ichigo. Cuts to his first encounter with aizen all the way back at soul society arc and says everything after that was a lie. Id buy that volume in a heartbeat.

Checking Halibel's page on the Bleach wiki, that was literally the last time she was seen or mentioned. It's not even confirmed if she's dead or alive.

This arc was a fucking mess.

haha holy shit I just remembered this today.

I still think it's hilarious that Orihime apparently healed her three sidekicks despite that not fitting with the timeframe (or, you know, the purpose of the arc) at all.

To be worse we'd need it to be that Yhwach just walks off and they go "Welp back to being a newbie substitute shinigami." In that the main bad guy completely wins and it turns out it doesn't fucking matter anyway.

Next worst is a mediocre rushed final battle or another spontaneous power up that clinches it. Which would be true to form for Bleach.

We already had the latter happen for Aizen, and honestly, I'm expecting the same to happen here. It's going to simply fart out of existence.

Really, it'd take something like a "EVERY BATTLE YOU'VE EVER HAD WAS IN THE PALM OF MY HAND" twist to surpass Reborn, although I don't know how you could do that at the last minute.

Edit: Just read the new chapter on Viz's WSJ.
did he seriously jsut kill off his second-in-command

I sorta feel bad for Kubo..sorta. Considering how large the cast already was and how many groups there were, introducing all this other bullshit was absolutely the last thing he should have been doing. It's like the goal for every arc is to double the cast size.

Kubo has literally said what he does when he has writers block is make new characters.

All this intro talk had me refreshing my memory.
You know I think the fifth one is my favourite but the thing that's really interesting about it is that it's like looking into an alternate dimension where Bleach keeps the tone from its early days, just that the Soul Society characters join the party.

Though I'm sure the actual episode content with this opening is the beginning of the Espada stuff, talk about false advertising.

I thought Bleach had already ended, for some reason. I fell off that train long, long ago. Last I heard about it was a few years ago and it sounded like it had already become a hot mess.

I can only imagine what kind of insane power level every character is at at this point.
"You fool! My third bankai form destroys the solar system!"

Is the mad scientist captain still the best character?

I actually think the anime ended at a very good point. Yes there were some things still left unknown. Characters abilities we never got to see. Overall though I think that last arc and it's ending was good enough overall and a decent enough send off. It's assumed the characters still have adventures, battles, etc but it's a decent enough jumping off point. I felt and still feel stronger about that with every new chapter that came out after this final arc got started.

that's how it should end, everyone going on with their lives with that knowledge that Yhwach is going to kill them at the moment of the greatest happiness.

last page is Ichigo and Orihime with their kids and Yhwach's shadow in the background, brilliant, give me my check Kubo.
That'd actually be kind of amazing. But I was thinking they don't chase after him, help heal up Ichigo, and just go "Welp, that's that" and they on with their lives like normal. That'd be unbelievably awful and anticlimactic.

Yeah, exactly why I said that. And with 5 or 6 chapters it'd end up even worse there.

Bleach OPs are undefeated. In fact, the music in the anime in general was great. Shame the content beyond that didn't always match.

I think the worst part of Bleach was Kubo's inability to stop the fights and get on with the plot . I still remember that i thought the hueco mundo ark would end in failure and they would have to come back and regroup.

Out of some morbid curiosity, I caught up to where the manga is. Holy fuck, everything is stupid and terrible. Most of it is like "I had this power the whole God damn time we fought Aizen, I just chose not to use it."

Seriously, this shit is terrible.

Yes. Thanks to Shiro Sagisu, Bleach had great tracks. In fact, my favorite ones come from Arrancar arc. La Distancia para un Duelo, Escalón, Soundscape to Ardor... So good.

Watching the old anime openings because of this thread.

Darn, bleach had so much potential to start with, such a shame they squandered it. Might have to dig out the early DVDs from the cupboard.

edit: And since I don't recognise the 5th opening, I must have stopped watching before than. Probably a good choice.

I don't know what it is about the 1st Bleach opening but it's a pure distilled nostalgia bomb, hits me hard for some reason.

Good news that this is going to end soon, it will end a part of our lives and we can move on. It will be strange not having the weekly bleach nonsense when it ends.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.

I know the Naruto manga just ended and I'm planning to watch it now since the anime will end soonish.

similarly, is the Bleach anime too far away from the manga? Like if the manga is expected to end next month, how far behind is the anime from manga? Will it end next year?

I just....want to wrap it up. Started it back in university in 2004. Gawd the OP vids hit me hard.

Any comprehensive place where it just lists which fillers to ignore?

The Soul Society arc was the perfect shonen arc: Amazing plot and intrigue, great characters round each corner with very good interactions, fantastic battles...

This was 10 years ago. How did they manage to make such good premise fall into irrelevance?

I'm sad to see these series go after all the entertainment it provide, even if it was for a short time. The first three openings and Houki Boshi trigger the feels.

Yui's Life always gets to me. I think this was the anime that propelled Yui to my ears.

Bleach anime quit trying to keep up. Unless they announced a new season I don't know about.

The bleach anime got cancelled a long time ago and probably isn't coming back.

Bleach isn't ending in a few chapters. There's a Reddit post explaining that the whole thing got blown outta proportion in regards to ending in a handful of chapters.

But it is ending. It is in the final arc, after all.

*Laughs maniacally*

Edit: The Bleach anime ended after the Fullbringers arc. No word if there is even interest to adapt the final arc.

Author said Bleach ends with Volume 74 and considering 73 was just released it definitely puts a limit on what's left. Unless I misinterpreted news somewhere.

I just checked that Reddit post, and it seems to be doing some mental gymnastics to reach how the announcement at the end of volume 73 doesn't actually say that volume 74 is "The Final Volume" but instead "The Final Volumes" in Japanese.

I mean, it's all very sudden, and maybe there going to be more like moving to a different magazine or something, but it is a stretch to say that the publisher is intentionally lying about when the manga is going to end for no apparent reason.

I know why I stopped, too many useless filler arcs because of the manga's glacial pacing. I've never seen someone so determined to not advance the plot before.

Have you heard of our lord and savior Naruto Shippuden? :p Manga ended two years ago and they are still in the final arc.

The 'Thousand Year Blood War' Arc has some decent moments. I mean 95% of the 'hyped' reveals that people were waiting for have happened. Some were bad, others were pretty cool.

The writing overall though is just an endless series of Kubo-Tite-Brand retcons and ass-pulls. Nothing really makes much sense at all. The logic behind character motivations and powerups have been increasingly contrived and ridiculous, to the point where they're virtually self-parody.

The writing has been on the wall for the ending happening for a while, but I will say I'm glad it's soon. The manga has definitely run its course. I do hope he at least tries to wrap things up with some closure on character arcs though. It would be very Kubo to not bother, but I hope he has enough pride in the work to do at least that.
