Tite Kubo's Bleach Manga Nears Ending

Kubo says Kira has a digesting bankai, we yet to see it.

Hisagi been said to have a bankai, got snipe by Lille and won't see it.

Isshin Bankai has been hinted at and made reference if he uses to much blood it's dangerous to us, we don't see it.

I just love how he dragged this arc on for FOUR YEARS and we still didn't even get to see everybody's powers.

Even trash tier shounen series manage to show everybody's shit at least once.

Can we talk about how garbage Ichigo's bankai is? Even Renji's first bankai was more interesting. Hell his entire Zanpakuto is lame as fuck. He gets a giant butcher knife that shoots energy waves. Generic. But then he gets this badass bankai:

Look at that shit. A nice-looking black katana that lets him move at very high speeds.

Except like two chapters/episodes later, everyone is moving as fast as he does when he uses his bankai. So it basically becomes a regular fucking sword that he probably only uses to fight more comfortably because swinging around that giant cumbersome shikai was a pain in the ass. A shikai that he didn't even use correctly.

And what does it even do now? It's a multi-layered sword that getsugas extra hard? Fuck you.
Regardless of what people think of the series overall, to me Soul Society was one of my favorite arcs watching anime. Really loved the way it all ended and how the stakes were raised after the beginning being a completely different style.

Same. It was the very first shonen I ever watched so it holds a special place in my heart.

IF YOU WANNA SEE SOME ACTION

I can't look at the SS arc the same anymore.

At the time, it was HYPE AS SHIT. But a lot of the hype and quality of it was the assumption that it would lead into something much more grand in scale in terms of story and... it just never did. So it's not as good to me as it was.

Still good, just not all time level good like it used to be.

Ehh it's still there for me. I won't let the journey it took me because of what happened in the future hurt it, but that's me. Not to mention it having some of the hypest moments of action during the time it came out.

The show turns most people's powers into garbage after a while. Most powers boil down into some variation of "it's a normal sword that cuts harder."

I mean look at Byakuya's bankai. Awesome unavoidable storm of little blades, right? Nope, its ultimate form is turning back into the form of a sword, which he then swings around... like a normal sword.

Zero division swordsmith guy's ultimate ability is literally just a sword that cuts everything.

What about Shinsui's bankai? Random ass shit that is pretty much just cutting someone's neck... what? with a cool background while you spout poetic bullshit?

I'm just curious to see how this shitshow will end. It'll probably end with just a big trollface or something.

Could have ended great, but then they got tired of his never ending drag shit out bullshit and now he has to rush.

If he didn't waste time on stupid no name zombies crap we could have had real progress and even a flashback to 1000 years ago when they sealed bach the first time.

Bleach lost me when this thing happened.

Up until then all the designs had been pretty cool but then this design straight from a 12 year old scene girl's notebook cover showed up, and I knew Bleach had gone to complete shit.

I have the box set of manga volumes spanning from the beginning of the series to the end of Soul Society arc. Pretty much the only time the series was good. Depending on how this ends, I'm probably going to sell it out of spite. The only thing that will keep me from selling it at this point is if the last chapter gives us some kind of resolution between Ichigo and Rukia. Doubtful.

That ship has sailed it's the true pairing of Renji n Rukia. Renji confirmed it when he was woth ichigo to confront Bach. due to Ichigo Renji was able to reconnect with Rukia and be close again after drifting away when she left with Byakuya in the academy.

Bleach, the worst best manga/anime ever. Or is it?

I'm confused AF.

Bleach in a nutshell folks.
It's not the worst but it really let me down.
I stopped reading when the guy who had the power to insert himself into the memories of others came into the picture. Not because of that though, the power is cool, but that whole arc was a complete train wreck.

LMAO!!! You made me choke on my orange juice!!!!

Speaking of relationships: what happened to "momo"? She had completely disappeared in this latest arc(or I just can't remember what happened to her.

Thanks! I aim to please!

The better question is "Who still cares about Momo?" The last time she was ever all that relevant was really almost a decade ago, save for that one delicious Aizen troll moment in 2009.

Stopped reading when they beat Aizen. Did Chad ever do anything worthwhile?
There was a brief moment of hope where it almost seemed like he would in the following arc, and then he didn't.

Also
The final battle has him staying behind to fight statues. Not even a named villain like everybody else!

Bleach was always going to end on the 15th year, says people from other forums. But it's ending like this because Kubo doesn't know how to plan out his shit.

That's why it feels like a fucking abrupt trainwreck.

I can't believe it's ending, though. As much as I shit on it, it was fairly enjoyable to read and had some decent concepts. No Toriko, but a good reason to engage in tinker time while doing the morning business.

Nah, that one was actually pretty cool. It was based on the acts of a play or something. First part gives the enemy your wounds, then you get a illness, then a pool of water that drains both people's energy, and then he straight up kills you with a wire.

It was great, had a reason why it couldn't be used around other people (because of the effects and anyone nearby is drawn into it), and would have landed him the win if his opponent wasn't so obtusely broken.

But yeah, most of the powers became "STRIKE HARDER", just about, and the cool ones rarely ever got screentime.

Watch the final chapter end in the middle of the action, followed by an impassioned plea from Kubo telling the fans that he needs their support to get the series un-cancelled so he can have the 10 more years he needs to wrap things up properly...

The spoilers for the new chapter, basically tell us the fight is over.

so if the next chapter is gonna be like clean up and epilogue stuff, then the real ending should be the chapter coming out this week I hope

The chapter we will be getting soon, will finish the fight, and next week chapter will be the ending of the series.

I really doubt there will be a epilogue but with Kubo who knows.

Someone should make a list of things not explained. And don't do cop out shit like things obviously answered if you didn't speed read the manga. Like actual problems and plot holes.

I'd imagine it'd be fairly big.

You mean like Hell never making a return in the manga?

I mean, the 4 races in general are never really ever explained.

Quincies were supposed to just be humans with bow powers that could kill hollows instead of purify them.

Then it turns out they're like, some weird amalgamation of the other three races that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

That's just the first thing that comes to mind for me in a macro sense, I'm sure I could fill a whole thread with dumb micro shit.

Was Hell ever important with the current arcs? That is more of a dropped plot of interest, but I feel like Kubo said it was going to be important later in the story(not the movie)

Quincies are generally humans. BUT Ywach's Quincies are spirit beings. Only Ichigo is a mix of all that stuff (thus why normal Quincies are poisoned by hollows and all that).

Problem is, nobody knows how long those Quincies have been around. We know Buzz and Hashbrown have been around for ages, but what about the other ones? Were they just biding their time for centuries? How did Ywach and Old Man Fire Dad's battle go down beyond him being "weaker" during that period? Why didn't he just kill him then?

Also, speaking of Ywach, the powers came from him, so why doesn't he just use that stuff and become the most OP person ever? Nothing implies he can't use that stuff, so why keep to just the future predicting stuff?

How did SS keep getting members for Central 46? Aizen killed them all, and then it was stocked with new people almost instantly.

Another question. How do they nominate people for their Central seats? Maybe this is in a databook, but that's not where you keep information like that, I would think.

I believe she was made a captain to replace whoever used to be her captain.

Yes. Momo. A captain. What the fuck.

Her captain was Aizen, who... Yeah.

Before him it was Shinji, and he resumed his original position during the time skip. And he was last seen with Momo.

looking back, ending right after the end of the SS arc was the best point to end the series. maybe do the aizen battle right after that and skip all of hueco mundo.

Aizen's defeat should have been the real end as most people thought back then. now it looks much better than what we got now.

get some go again
maybe there will be a bleach movie to add to the ending. going to be kinda weird once bleach is gone though. 2 out of the 3 mangas i've read the longest are now gone. once toriko is gone too i will only have one piece to read and hxh whenever it comes back on.

#Aizendidnothingwrong.

got rid of that corrupt Central 46(though they got replaced in short order somehow)

Forced Soul Society to grow and reflect on its crazy old school rules

Wants to replace that useless no good Soul King

Helped Ichigo grow as a person so he became strong enough to help him beat Yhwach

Lit a fire under Urahara's ass so he could invent more useful things, this in turn also lit a fire under Mayuri.

Forced Hinamori to grow from her naive ways.

Gave the captains and lieutenants some good training with his arrancars.

Didn't kill anyone except that traitorous scum Gin

Commissioned a glorious chair to sit in.

What a great man, truly the real hero and main character of Bleach

The series really went off the rails right at the end of the Soul Society arc. Yes I know people get enjoyment out of Aizen, even I do somewhat, but let's be real...Bleach is a mess. There are a couple of great stories in it, like some of the backstory (hell even Ichigo's mom's backstory was overall solid I felt). But the backstories don't really hold a lot of weight unless the characters actually do something to resolve what character arc started. Every character arc in the series has ended in a very underwhelming way, because Kubo insists on focusing most of the page space with pointless fights over and over again.... When I settled on a score for Naruto, I settled on it being a C-, as I felt it was a flawed series but had genuinely good and enjoyable moments in it every now and then. Bleach on the other hand really struggles to have those moments, as it's sole identity relies on the fact on whether the readers like seeing "cool" battles, rather than actually putting any weight behind them.

Kubo is kind of like the Zack Snyder of manga actually. He can produce great visuals and "moments", but when there's nothing behind them, it's hard to call them truly great outside of how it appears.

Not to mention there's going to be a massive amount of unresolved plot threads with only two more chapters. Bleach is a D- series for me.

Naruto had its absurdities but at least the finale was reasonably paced. This seems to be kind of going "oh yeah, I wanted/need to get this wrapped up."

See how the last few chapters pan out I guess.
