Tite Kubo's Bleach Manga Nears Ending

That was one of the worst final chapters of any manga I've ever read. No fucking hyperbole, it is that bad.

I think for where we've been it's up there, yes. It's a travesty. However, IF Bleach had stuck to what it was supposed to be through the SS arc, this ending would have been totally fine!

The problem is it didn't. Kubo probably made 90% of this ending 15 yrs ago and just redrew the characters with his current style.

At least he could've thrown a meager bone by suggesting Aizen is imprisoned but they're using him as a placeholder Soul King, sort of kills a few birds with one stone there. Nah, too much to ask for.

Ishida forever alone, Ichigo a freeloading loser, his dad nowhere to be seen, wasn't this supposed to be an all color chapter? Or a double chapter? Or both? At least Chad looks like he backstrokes thru oceans of pussy now. He grew up well. Everybody else in Karakura town just stayed put, how tragic.

Did Bleach ever have a really defining, memorable scene/moment? I'm talking about a scene that immediately jumps at you when you are reminded of this series.

The moment Ichigo rescues Rukia and KOs three vice captains and stops Byakuya's attack and is all like "oh shit waddup."

So, what should I replace Bleach with in my weekly reading schedule? Boku no Hero Academia is already there.

Baki

Miyamoto Musashi vs prehistoric unfrozen dude called Pickle coming up

Add to this, this no one talks about it but it's very good and the pace in comparison to bleach will seem like lightspeed, and it's currently seems to be very well planned. Also tends to invert a lot of Shounen tropes.

Haha, man that ending was rushed. However, it did prove me wrong as I had expected it to not have Ichigo (and Rukia) end up with anyone.

As a fan of Ichigo/Orihime, I'm happy with what happened, heh.

Can someone explain to me exactly what happened with Yhwach's power and whatnot? Did Kazui absorb it or something?

Mabye it's because it was a long time ago and I was younger.

But I remember that back during the Soul Society arc Bleach was easily my favorite one of the big 3. Cool battles and characters and a fun plot.

The first fight with Kenpachi, the fight with Byakuya, Ichigo releasing his Bankai (back when it actually did something) , the reveal of Aizen as the main villain, etc

It all went downhill from there though. I honestly think that when Kubo started this he had some of the plot in mind up until the end of the Soul Society arc. Then it became super popular and everything else since then has basically been him going "well fuck, I have to come up with 10 years worth of this manga now"

Honestly, one of the problems I have when trying to think about this is that Bleach has been bad for so long that the thing that sticks out most to me is "Who said the numbers on the ten espada went from 1 to 10"

I want to say when Ichigo first went bankai, but even that isn't even all that memorable for me anymore despite other stuff in the first half of the series being fairly easy for me to recall.

Why was Aizen talking about how it's important to have death because it inspires courage when the dude himself cannot die

When I think of "memorable Bleach scenes" the big climax to me was the scenes leading up to Rukia's execution, followed by Ichigo blocking Rukia's execution with one hand and then one-shotting a whole gang of vice captains.

Aizen's heel-turn was also great, but then it was all downhill from there.

Why was Aizen talking about how it's important to have death because it inspires courage when the dude himself cannot die

All that death stuff this chapter makes me think the gist of the ending was developed a long-ass time ago, because it's all stuff that was relevant to like, Bleach's first arc, which was actually about coping with death. But then it became a battle manga and the death stuff stopped being thematically relevant for hundreds of chapters only to pop up again now.

Ichigo transforming into a hollow during his fight with Ulquiorra would be the most memorable to me.
Also Hitsuguya stabbing Hinamori in the Fake Karakura Town Arc.

Yhwach: "everyone should live forever so they don't have to live in the shithole slums of Soul Society or become hollows"

Aizen: "what, you scared of starving in the streets of the afterlife or becoming a soulless husk of a monster? boo-hoo. fukkn pussies"

Aizen: "what, you scared of starving in the streets of the afterlife or becoming a soulless husk of a monster? boo-hoo. fukkn pussies"

This is the kind of message you can really take to heart.

Why was Hiyori in this chapter? Where even was she? Was Kazui at her place or was she in Ichigo's house? I didn't understand that interaction at all.

The worst thing for me is how fucking safe this ending is, Kubo went for the most boring, safest, generic option he could think of. I think he read Naruto's last chapter and said "fuck it I'll just copy that"

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Most memorable moment for me was when the cat turned into a sexy brown lady.

It looks like he was at the Vizard's base where they trained Ichigo, Kazui seems to be really fast.
Maybe that's why Orihime keeps tabs on him with her Shun Shun Rikka.

The only really memorable characters from the series, imo, are Mayuri and Aizen and that's mostly because they're both just badass trolls.

I'm not following anything at the moment. I think I will stop picking up stuff that isn't finished and promises to be long.
Watch or read Slam Dunk, one of the GOAT series. It has an ending (even though it should have went even further). You don't need to be a basketball fan to love it, and it was one of the best protagonists of all time. The art is Godlike since Inoue is working on it, it's fucking hilarious, and when it gets serious it's seriously amazing. Characters aren't going to turn super sayain on the court because the good guy has to win either like some other sports series.

Problem with the anime is that it only goes 85% of the way, and then you have to read the rest of it.

Pretty much all of the memorable scenes are the Soul Society arc, and there are a lot of them there. Afterwards are a few awesome moments but even in Hueco Mundo you can see the rot start to set in as Kubo begins to play favorites and undersell some characters in favor of others, or just in favor of cheap plot twists.

Bleach's most defining moment

Can't remember the last time a shounen MC hot off his latest powerup without having showng it off yet was offpanelled and floored to comparatively more minor villain. Not even the MC was safe from Jobbing offpanel.

Jobbed in the final fight and gave up. Even Renji still wanted to fight.
Hope his son doesn't take that big of a L.

This was actually really great. The Askin fight was one of the only good fights in this arc (the others being Yamamoto vs. Yhwach and Mayuri vs. Giant Hand Thing imo).

This.

Edit: Since choosing a specific start time doesn't seem to work on my phone, it starts 1m23s in.

Funnily enough, this was the exact spot where I stopped reading the manga. The whole SS arc had dragged for way too long, and the ending felt quite cheap, so I decided to quit it.

Have been reading some of the last chapters for fun, though. Good that Kubo was able to finish it, albeit not very gracefully.

I'm going to pretend that Bleach ended after Soul Society.

Aizen vanished and was never heard from again, Rukia and Ichigo got together to have a couple of kids, Ichigo took over as a Captain and they all lived happily ever after.

Also, what the hell happened to Isshin? Did he just retire back to Soul Society or something?
