Tom Clancy's The Division |OT 3| Crafted From 150 OT 2’s

Essentially people want ARs with high ROF, clip size and damager per bullet. The rest doesn't matter.

Then again, those are the people that are bloody useless unless they're standing a few feet away from their target.

As far as ARs go I still favor the G36 variants for all-around usefulness.

Will try adding the barrett chest and on the move next

WTF how is that even possible?
If all of the talents are active like Battle Buddy (-50% damage after reviving a downed agent), Critical Save (increase damage resistance by 40% after using a medkit during low health), On The Move (increase damage resistance by 30% if you kill an enemy while moving) and then you add things like the pulse that increases damage resistance and the Survival Link (arguably the worst link), you can get astronomical toughness stats...for a maximum of about 10 seconds (likely way way less given the number of things that need to happen in succession) in very specific situations. That's not including things like Barrett's chestpiece or a Robust chestpiece which inflates toughness in certain situations.

If all my talents proc and I use tactical link, for example, my sheet DPS looks insane. But at the end of the day, other than in very intense PVP battles, none of this really matters when a 300k/450k/110k build can melt ai without much risk of dying.

Stacking modifiers.

But.

1. Can't be maintained for longer than a few seconds.
2. Insane amounts of setup.
3. Impractical as all hell.

He's showing off and it's very impressive, but it's not like...a super build that's gonna take the world by storm or anything :p

I'm really going to have to reconsider my loadout. I'm not sure Tactician's Authority is worth it anymore. I have 168K in skill power and there really doesn't seem to be that much difference between myself and someone that's lower. On top of that, the 4 piece bonus doesn't work like it used to, so it doesn't feel as viable.

Yeah, I made the move away from Tactician's Authority to first...all HEs (but never managed to drop a Barrett's chestpiece) to finally giving Alphabridge a go. I won't go back. Same toughness, but melts opponents so much quicker and I find the quicker pulse and less potent heal is okay in all but PVE because everything dies so much quicker.

That said, everytime I think the build meta is finished, I see something like this. Seems super cool. It's a heal build with super quick cooldowns triggered by talents and high skill power. This can give toughness numbers like the one posted above, but way more often if everyone is hitting Triage and shit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA4HJ8nNIAY

If you want to try something that is to the extreme other end of the spectrum I suggest giving the LoneStar set a try with two pieces of Nomad for the Health on Kill bonus. Just acquire/equip an LMG and shotgun (with a strong stagger %) and go nuts as far as being aggressive. It's a riot.

I'd suggest 4000 Firearms, 6500 Stamina, and 4000 Electronics or there abouts to keep weapon talents active and for a balanced build across the board.

After having played Survival for a few days both alone and in groups, I can't help but feel that they should expand a bit upon this mode and make it more like a proper BR game.

Right now you can extract without seeing a single person, or you can end up running into 3 groups at the same time (most of the time its usually 1-2 people per game).

I love the salvage and gear up aspect, but I still feel the whole extracting is wrong for the mode itself (while I understand the 'story' and 'narrative' reasons as seen in the cinematic) as it, most of the time, leaves you with little to no PvP (or co-operative if PvE) and just ends with "fill the bag and go" mentality while killing AI.
Most of the time, by the time I'm ready to extract, others player have yet to enter the Dark Zone it feels like.

Perhaps they should make the map a bit smaller or something, seems way too big for the player count.

But I still love it, sometimes you get out, other times you don't. Everyone on equal footing, regardless of level.

You really see numbers change in the 200s skill power

It's pretty cool

Tac bonus sends me into 40% crit damage or more with my other procs

My wishes for Survival Mode:
1 - Better payouts. I feel like when I survive 90+ minutes with full cold resistance, all HE gear, having killed 1-2 hunters and 70+ enemies and with 100% third/hunger, that I should walk away with more gear than I could get in the DZ in a half hour. It's still the most fun mode for me, but I just wish that the rewards matched the challenge and risk.
2 - Ability to share materials and clothing. It doesn't hamper the experience much to always be communicating, but seems like an odd choice, especially in terms of breaking immersion. Also, it'd be nice to be able to be more friendly in PVE with strangers.
3 - The ability to craft medicine or painkillers. I'd love to be able to extend the game mode in a few cases and see how many landmarks I could clear. I feel like it's a missed opportunity to allow players to not be able to get a Master rank by surviving for longer amounts of time. As it is, 90-100 minutes in, I seem to have to head to the extraction whether I want to or not.
4 - A Snake Plissken outfit.

The thing that I have to take into consideration when building my gear is that my usual team tend to rely on things that I bring to the table. We have someone that is more dedicated to healing, where as I usually bring the more defensive skills.

I used to run Smart Cover + Pulse, but nowadays I'm running Fire Turret + Pulse. I almost always use my grenades in combination with my turret, for maximum damage. You know, whatever keeps those guys still. I also run with a Caduceus, because I like my skills charging a bit faster, too. I'd like to run with Liberator, but I'm not sure if that can roll Cool-Headed.

I mean, I suppose I can run the Liberator & Caduceus with Alpha-Bridge. That solves that problem. I tried out Lone Star, but I really wasn't a fan of it. I don't really care for the weapon types that, that gear set carters towards.

That MarcoStyle Reclaimer build looks crazy fun, though.

As I have said time and time again my hope is that they bring the survival mechanics over to the main game but give players the choice to whether they want them or not by creating another Tiered World with these survival mechanics included. I want to feel strong, use my gear, and be forced to deal with the elements of survival as well.

As it stands I have zero interest in the current disjointed mode.

Well most of the time I feel that around 40-50 minutes I'm full with nothing but strong AI in sight and keep playing beyond that is literally a waste of time as I'll hit Rank 5 when I leave. Theres no reason to stay behind and become more powerful once you fill your bag with the 6 items you want. Its a shame and I wish it was more like a powerhouse giving you some reason to keep going for as long as you can.

I've never been fully decked out before I've left Survival. Most of the time its blue + few purple.

Mats and "appearance" would be nice to share, especially in a group. Not sure why you can't but it should be an option.

I feel like painkillers would be alright but medicine should be rare loot. It's really powerful and lasts a very long time. 3-5 is MORE than enough to see you to the end without issues even without painkillers.

Actually, the biggest reason I like it is because it have zero relation to my "other" character and put everyone in a equal state to find stuff and become more powerful in a climate which is out to kill you one way or another.

To me the fun in this game ended once I hit a barrier as I could no longer progress beyond the gear I had, which fair enough is months ago but I really have no interest in going back to min/maxing and as such this is perfect.

It's also probably the reason the mode feels a bit "unsatisfactory" once you get to the dark zone in Survival, as by then there are few players left and you will most likely never seen anyone before you leave unless you run around for an hour hoping to find someone.

I don't need or want the reward the mode gives, a proper ranked leader board of kills/extract/deaths or something and a proper rank mode which, perhaps as you rank up, gave you a cosmetic start-off in each survival game would be better. Maybe like all head items turn into a crown if you select it but obviously other (looted) items stats, or all armor looks like X or Y, if you get what I mean.

Much more compelling to fight over than what is currently given, in my case.

I should have added "or increased Survival Extraction bag size" to the rewards request, to give reason to stick around to polish off more landmarks/enemies (if you so chose). It'd be nice to leave with more than 6 caches if you want to put the work in on a 2+ hour Survival run. Not a dealbreaker, I just wish there was some element of flexibility to the gameplay systems to allow longer runs/reward for choosing to do so. I find that, even when I'm actively looking for medicine and painkillers, I'm unlikely to top out past 90-100 minutes.

True, but with the current system there is absolutely no reason for you to stay remotely that long in the match :|

So it ties into the other parts of a wishlist.

I can think of a ton of scenarios where Survival mechanics could be introduced to the main game like High-value Targets/Objectives for instance...

Fast travel disabled
Blizzard conditions
Clothing stats/values enabled
Find shelter/warmth
Use bandages/medicine/painkillers

...while fighting across the map against the elements and NPCs to execute a target or complete an objective.

Still shocked all we got was a disjointed mode where the rewards are for you to go play other game modes that has nothing to do with the Survival expansion. No Incursion with related mechanics, etc. Nothing new to use the new/updated gear on except for the same old content. No new challenging missions, absolutely nothing.

The DLCs seem schizophrenic at best, like neat extras instead of significant gameplay additions.

I don't think anyone who hasn't already bought them could be enticed into getting them lol.

I really wish the mode was deeper.

I don't mind them expanding it to a new thing but I like the "closed off" aspect.
Each match is a fresh start but also there's very little reason to do it for gear which is what the rest of the game is actually about.

Yup. More of a "I wish I could see how long I could actually last/how many landmarks I could clear" and in order for that to be worth doing, other things would have to be adjusted (like the # of survival caches you can extract with or the bonus payout or score multiplier if you survive 2, 2.5+ hours, etc).

At least farming Lex for the bulletproof vest you get an absolute shit load of gear to try out. Wasn't that fussed when I first read about the talent but having since seen quite afew builds incorporating it I decided I want it so to keep me from going insane I wanted to experiment with afew sets to pass the time.

Today (30-40 runs alone, maxed phx creds 2-3 times over or more) a real good ripper is 3 Banshee/3 Lone Star, stacking damage to enemies out of cover with the baked in LMG percentage & third talent of banshee, along with the LMG damage from the third talent in Lone Star. Added with LMG damage on the gloves and enemy armour damage where possible. Pakhan with brutal, destructive and ferocious speaks for itself.

I did miss the extra skill power from the specialised backpack so tried that with Reckless chest and a 4 piece D3FNC set. A brilliant MP5 with brutal, responsive and unforgiving worked well but I found the set abit boring, probably because it's not really needed in Lex with how quick everyone can just steam roll through it. Probably be better in UG or incursions where challenging content is abit tougher.

Anyone else have any recommendations for sets to try out. I've got that much gear I could pretty much try any combo at the minute having 6-8 pieces of all gearsets so wouldn't mind trying something else out. I've been the alpha, striker and sentry route they speak for themselves so any other combos of a 3/3 to try out or 3/2/1 etc I'm open to suggestions :)

I've been trying to get barrets bulletproof chest piece all night, ended up being able to pull together a really solid base for a D3-FNC set. Unfortunately though I haven't had luck with getting alpha bridge pieces really, I only have 3, and one is the backpack and another is the chest piece.

I'm using an aug with the set at the moment, managed to get +armor dmg talent and +headshot damage talent rolled onto it which is awesome.

My stats are still a wee bit on the low side but thankfully the ballistic shield curbs a lot of the lower toughness. Really fun build!

I managed to get Barret's Chestpiece from a proficiency cache last night - very happy with the roll too!

My current setup is 3x Firecrest, Barret's Chest, Specialized Backpack and Nimble Holster.

I might switch the holster for a Firecrest one to get the 4 piece benefit of Firecrest - but will see how it goes. The Nimble holster has saved me a few times!

EGaWa0E.png

Firecrest is a fun build - the 3 piece benefit is +30% flame turret damage & +50% flame turret range. Providing you place the turret in a place where it can't be kicked by the NPC, then it can last a long time and dish out a lot of damage as well as providing crowd-control.

Hey all. I got back into the game recently, and I'm running out of things to do, or at least it seems that way. Just a note, I have the base game only, no DLCs.

I've done the whole SP campaign, all the encounters, and got most of the collectables. I've done a fair bit of dark zone too. I have done a few search and destroy missions, and got some high ranking targets too. I'm level 256 in everything. I have a ton of regular money, a bit of dark zone money, and very few phoenix credits.

So, where do I go from here? Is there something I'm missing? A way to get better loot? Is there something I should be buying with all that cash?

The green gear sets you mean? I keep getting pieces of them, but I only keep the ones with perks I like. Right now I have the Nomad one and the Banshee shadow one for the dark zone.

yup, get to try all of them

2 ways to get better stats, get good drops or recalibrate it aka min/maxing

At its heart its as a catchall phrase to mean "optimizing your character (like gear stats)".

Ok, that's what I thought, just wanted to be sure.

I'm not sure I'm willing to spend time to get slightly better stats, the grind is time-consuming. Seems I'll have to get the DLCs at some point for more content.

Pretty much, however Survival is great if you ignore the fact that you gain nothing valuable from doing it :D

I love survival mode, but I basically have a pattern for success which involves avoiding combat entirely until the end. Regular old red enemies can kill me in no time at all. So usually I just craft a bunch of yellow stuff at the very end so I can kill the hunter and that's that.

Kinda makes me wish they could introduce an element of stealth and stealth kills in Survival mode. Sneaking up on enemies in the fog kinda makes sense.

As for the main game, I'm sitting at rank 229. Running 3 nomad + 3 striker (just the best stuff I've found so far) but I feel like I'm doing absolutely no damage to level 33 enemies.

My weapon is an ACR doing about 205k DPS, and enemies feel so damn spongy still. I couldn't imagine trying to make the leap to 256, but I also don't see much room for improvement in the DPS department. Maybe some better gear mods and attachments could help a tiny bit....

Is there any point in grinding up DZ rank or DZ credits? Are those things terribly important? That's the main reason I'm limiting myself to 229 right now. I want to stay at this DZ bracket while trying to level up.

imagine cutting (mitigating) incoming damage by 65%? ill say go for armor any chance you get

Oh wow lol, I thought the soft cap for mitigation on armor was like 50% so once I hit that threshold I was rolling armor into health since I thought my armor was gonna start hitting massive diminishing returns.
