Gameradar let's play had executive producer Scott Amos adamant about 1080P60 @ 50:35

IGN says marketing says that 1080P30 was the lowest they'd allow (read between the marketing lines)

that's not true at all; and high-end pc runs TR Ultimate quality well over 60fps with 4xSSAA enabled; console version will be using FXAA and a rewored version of tress fx (if i am not wrong ati is gonna release version 2.0 of it)

i am talking about a pc with a single card/single gpu; card with multiple gpu take the fr well over 100

What's the spec on this PC?

Wow I had no idea! I felt like it ran the same as BF3 on my 360 lol, obviously it looks a load better, but I had just assumed the framerate was the same.

Honestly this game is on my radar now that it's ~60fps on PS4. Glad to hear they're taking full advantage of the system.

Way to read the OP. Not once does he say it moves between 30 and 60 FPS. Instead he said at stays steady at seemingly 60 with some noticeable drops. I got news for you "locked" 30 FPS games can have drops as well.

I have news for you, too, if it never dips below 30fps unlocked, it won't dip below 30fps when locked, either. Unlocked framerates are almost as distracting as screen tearing, especially with some noticeable drops. There's no reason to have it unlocked other than to shut up the people that would complain about it otherwise. It shits up the feeling of responsiveness IMO because the input lag isn't consistent, not to mention it looks ugly.

Really? I didn't have much playtime, but the higher framerates on the next-gen versions felt pretty immediate to me, compared to the 360 version.

I'm looking forward towards Thief in February. It was built with an old engine, so it's quite demanding in terms of hardware power. Last year the PC-version looked far superior than the PS4-version, but that might have changed.

The PS4 still has a power advantage. What ever developers learn to get out of XB1, they're getting even more out of PS4.

Arguably it grew wider. PS4 just doubled the frame rate when devs went for resolution parity.

1080 @ 30fps or 1080p @ 60fps is still a huge gap. In this case the developers chose not to compromise the resolution, but instead go for the framerate.
