By far my vote for worst fight in the Chuin Exams is Naruto's fight with Neji. Neji continues to say that everything is determined from birth and Naruto disagrees, only for Naruto to beat Neji with the Ninetails chakra he was born with....proving Neji's point.

At least Naruto had to be somewhat clever to get around Neji's Rotation and actually get the knock out.

All I really actually like from those fights *are* rock lee vs gaara and naruto vs neji , oh I guess shikamaru v temari is nice . Never really liked naruto v kiba cause kiba is mega class loser .

that was incredibly dumb, but it was at least a good fight otherwise.

I've never even thought about that before lol

SHIPPUDEN SPOILERS:
Naruto's gigantic Chakra reserves and his healing factor is due to his birthright. Not that Naruto doesn't have a gigantic hill to climb as his chakra was completely messed up by the seal and not getting along with the nine tails's chakra but still.

EDIT: Worst fight? That's a pretty tough one as I like most of them. Not a huge fan of the Sauce versus the Gaara. Lots of hype amounting to nothing.

I was thinking that one too. I wasn't sure if it counted considering it got interrupted.

Also, Tenten VS Temari since it was like one-panel long in the comic.

Thing is though it's pretty great in the anime. It's the same thing as Eneru versus Luffy in One Piece moment. Twenty is boned! I never miss my target when I throw stuff through the air! I control the air...fuck.

Yeah, that's what I said.

Hmm, let me find it on youtube then.

Edit: Oh yeah, in the Rock Lee show they have a rematch haha.

worst fights are a tie between Sakura vs. Ino and Naruto vs. Kiba. Tenten vs. Temari at the very least didn't feel ridiculously drawn-out (even if it kinda was by comparison to what it was in the manga), but it's still number three. rounding out the top five worst are Shino vs. Zaku (shit pacing) and Hinata vs. Neji (mediocre pacing, too talky).

Hinata and Neji is my favorite fight. That tension is real. It's got good ring psychology, she is the gutty underdog with no real issue with him, he's the heel that wants to put the entitled babyface in her place and is out for blood. She has a believable comeback only to get squashed down in the end by his superior technique and setting up the Naruto confrontation well.

EDIT: Still can't believe I posted THIS >

and lazybones didn't even comment on it.

My favorite part of that screenshot is Shino checking Anko out on the sly. Sneaky bastard.

i feel like it might be a lot more acceptable in the manga. but in the anime i just thought it was too slow for what it was, and while most of the talking was fine there was too much of it to the point where it felt like they were just using it to pad things out.

Hinata grew on me, normally I don't like the shy obvious crush on the lead character yet despite how poorly Kishi handles female characters as a whole I felt she's one of the better versions of that trope.

I forgot to mention how great I think the second Opening and Ending for Kill la Kill is. I'm sure the ED will serve nicely in giving some "Shiny Shiny" moments.

I forgot we lose an hour tonight. However, If gaining an hour means watching stuff like King Star King, consider me thankful.

i actually thought the explanation for her liking Naruto was really well-done.

It is. It really really is. Her life sucks but she sees him always with a smile on his face even though his life is ten times worse. I like how it starts as a joke (oh hey this creepy girl with creepy eyes is staring at him or trying to help him and he doesn't notice) but then as more and more is revealed you really start to feel for her.

I'm not as down on Sakura as most of you are but her adoration for Sasuke is skin deep in comparison. He's the cool brooding pretty boy with a tortured past! He barely noticed you even when you spent months and months working together and the gall of it all is that he bonded better with the idiot you ignored the whole time than you because at least he could relate with him.

Hinata just isn't the sort of character I like. I just don't like the concept of "big boobed girl who does nothing but thirst for the main character" that feels more like she came out of a porno or something. I thought Sakura had potential, but she was sidelined at the first real fight in the series. Ino/Tenten are only really interesting in filler or spinoff, the canon forms are boring too. I really liked Temari, but she hasn't really gotten much to do in Shippuden.

Before someone avatar quotes me, Jaken is played to a comedic effect...and I don't view it as anything sexual

Hinata does more at critical moments in the series far more then Sakura/insert female here, heck her two big shining moments in the series are where you would normally have the female lead/love interest do exactly what she does in those scenes.

Hinata is also played for comedy though. It just so happens the authors rolls with it when he gets a ton of unexpected positive feedback from it.

EDIT: See Above. Community feedback has her taking Sakura's place in Part II.

While this is true, it also doesn't feel forced and it feels more like the direction the story naturally developed which I kind of like. Then again one could argue if Kishi had a better idea for where he wanted to take his story and did a better job of developing characters there wouldn't have been a need to replace Sakura with Hinata in that "lead" female role.

I don't remember her doing anything notable in Shippuden. There's the Pain stuff, but
she actually just instigated Naruto turning into Ninetails and going ape shit until his dad had to save him
.

Problem with all the romance here is that its way too one-sided. The only serious one I can accept is ShikamaruxTemari.

I'm pretty sure LATE SHIPPUDEN SPOILERS
saving his life during the Pain arc and reminding him to NEVER GIVE UP during that battle with Obito are pretty significant. It's certainly more then Sakura/Sasuke/Kakashi/*insert character here* did during those arcs

one of the scenes i hated the most in Naruto was when Sakura was trying to get Sasuke to stay in the village. she's a fangirl, and we're supposed to feel sorry for her because of this.

in fairness i think the big-boobed part was added when her popularity became apparent and it's only after her character has been established regardless.

Minato bailed him out during the Pain arc, and her attempt to save Naruto in the War just got Neji killed.

As for comparing her to what other characters did in those arcs. Well I think Shippuden doesn't do a good job on handling its characters in general. It's all been downhill since Sasuke beat Itachi IMO and the only reason why I keep reading on is because my college library only has that and Bleach for me to read in between classes -_-

Temari and Shikamaru is the only two sided relationship going.

Naruto and Sakura have something as well in part 2 but its not exactly an honest relationship.

Filler also implies heavily that Ino has something for
Choji.

My thoughts exactly. That was the beginning of the end.

I kind of like Naruto-Sakuras relationship. It's got a few interesting dynamics, obviously young naruto has a crush on her, she doesn't really reciprocate that most of time, grows into a platonic sort of love, like close siblings. At least up through what I've watched.

Just read through the last 3 pages of this thread on a whim and now I'm upset with myself for never reporting in to either her or the KLK thread for personal reactions to the show. :p

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Alright, time for new One Piece at Crunchyroll/Funimation!
*week off* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And right when things were getting amazing.

You mostly right, besides the ship teasing by masashi every once in a while because he knows a large part of his fanbase are at war between narusasu and naruhina, they largely have developed a sister brother relationship.
