i thought this episode of SAO was at the very least entertaining. laughable moments (the sparkles, "beater") aside.

Those were the most entertaining moments!

Blue hair dies:

I don't think he got the memo, YOU DIE IN REAL LIFE .

Death montage, is this Bleach?

So kawaii:

maximum moe achieved

MEGA KAWAII ACTIVATED

I wonder if 4.5GBs of GDDR5 is enough to render Kawaii Sparkles correctly.

Kirito, Master *BLEEP*ing Beater:

HE'S A BEATER ! OMG WHAT EVEN IS THIS .

LMAO! I lost it at your a beater

Beater. Really. OK.

A Beator? Really SAO?

So this show is supposed to be ridiculously cheesy?

Okay, fess up. Which one of ya are beaters?

Now for something completely different:

"The Heifer Strikes Back"

you serious

somebody needs to draw Kirito wearing this

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
If a new Soul Eater anime is ever made (I hope it is), one thing has to be done.
Someone needs to make an AMV set to "This is Halloween".

Blood+ and Trinity Blood on the same block was agonizing.

Blue Gender is still the worst anime they've ever shown though. At least GXP is hilariously memorably bad while Blue Gender is insanely boring.

EDIT: Oh shit I nearly forgot about Candidate for Goddess Pilot. That's the legit worst anime they've ever shown and its not even close.

Blue Gender was a series that got utterly ripped to pieces on Adult Swim since they had NO CLUE how to handle such a sexual show.

i heard it was originally meant for Toonami, though i never saw it so i don't know if the edits make that obvious or not. or if it's even true.

Pretty sure this is the case.

Tons of other shows from around that period suffered because of similar indecision. Kenshin probably would have done better paired up with inuyasha and uncensored on AS, same with Gundam SEED. YYH suffered in the ratings because they couldn't decide where to put it.

Readings hit a nadir with Big O, then rise steadily until the end of the block?

Feels like these ratings are pretty much the standard expected ones now, at least, to me.

Man, that Naruto drop. Though I imagine the Bleach numbers are just a bunch of people showing up only for the Aizen fight and going on their way. Shame they didn't stick around, but it's not cause for concern.

Good ratings all around. SAO holding steady and Bleach doing gangbusters is great for the block. Also, the late night rise will never cease to amaze me. I guess people come home from late night shenanigans and turn on the tv to watch some Inuyasha.

To be fair to E7 the first few and last few episodes are the best and quite gripping, and if you're in that late your Sunday is already pushed back a few hours so you might as well hang on.

I think people are just waking up early and starting their day off with Inuyasha.

lol Chimera arc might end up as my favorite arc and it just started. Especially after the last episode holy shit.

And good ratings again. The first three shows seem to have a million on lock.

As far as I can tell they haven't even gotten around to animating the best parts of the arc. The themes this arc goes through are just way above the pay grade of stories in this genre and yet it pulls them off flawlessly. You guys really are in for a treat, especially since you don't have to deal with Togashi's hitatuses.

First three do seem to be on lock, I'm sad Soul Eater isn't doing better but that may be more due to time slot at this point.

I think people are just waking up early and starting their day off with Inuyasha.

Well, sounds like a decent a way as any to start off a day.

Little more on the ratings (emphasis Turner PR, not mine)

Saturday’s new episode of Bleach (12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with all key adults and men, while Naruto (12:30 a.m.) and One Piece (1 a.m.) each ranked #1 in their respective timeslots among adults 18-34 and all targeted men. Soul Eater (1:30 a.m.) also ranked #1 among targeted men demos. All TOONAMI premiere episodes increased by mostly double and triple-digits across the board vs. the same time period last year.

Bleach sure seems to be popular.

i'm trying to weigh whether i want it to do well throughout the rest of its run or if i want to see the incredible gratification of its ratings going to shit but possibly (probably) having a detrimental effect on the rest of the block.

Considering it was doing well before Toonami's revival during some really bad periods of the show I doubt anything can take it down.
