my feelings about GiTS are the same as cowboy bebop is that they arent shows that should be replayed as many times as they are on adult swim, I also acknowledge GiTS as a good show aswell but I also like it less then cowboy bebop despite loving the setting.

I'm glad they're getting the first season back. I remember watching it back in early high school & just being bored, but after rewatching the second season this year being a bit older, I was able to understand why people enjoyed it. One of these days, I need to watch the original film (preferably the non-GCI version)

I realize now that I have seen one episode of FLCL. No idea which it was. But I certainly didn't comprehend it.

Excited for both ghost in the shell and flcl, only heard great things about both.

Oh man people in here haven't seen FLCL before? You guys are in for a treat

These FLCL posts make me want to rewatch the series. I still own the Blu-Ray set of it. If only the show was made in HD or had the Lain remastered treatment.

I can see how gits could be a show that's not for everyone. It's like anime csi/law and order
Probably the reason why I was so bored with it when I was younger. I was like "Oh my god when will they stop talking & do something!?". Heck, one episode in the second season was literally
people just sitting around a table & being like a message board, discussing the events that'd happen up to that point.

Edit: Eeehhh, should play it safe & edit that.

If I'm around on a Saturday night, I just might! When is it airing?

I wish Toonami would dedicate a Saturday night just to the awesomeness of FLCL.

I remember when AS aired all of FLCL in one night because of some BK have it your way contest or something. Some cool person actually chose to air FLCL on his night. It was pretty bitchin'.

Or maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

Yeah the cast seems to do this a bit, I remember thinking 'man the animators must have loved this scene, all they have to do is animate mouths..' on more than one occasion.

Going to try to give those scenes full attention this time around the avoid getting plot details lost.

All you have to know about Gits is that everything is tomatoes computers.

I could never really get into GiTS and take it seriously when they said things like class A super-hacker. Lol sounds so dumb.

Speaking of which I thought it was really unrealistic how people had their ghosts hacked like it was an everyday occurrence. Imagine the public outcry if that was today.

Those two factors really took me out of the experience.

After about the third viewing of FLCL, I understood the gist of what was going on. Then I read a wiki about it (which contained additional manga info) and could follow the story almost completely.

But the director is right, what's really happening plot wise isn't really important.

You're remembering right, that did happen. I should have that schedule back at home, I think. I believe that night also included the first ever rerun for Eureka seveN episode 1.

Was it common back then for toonami to skip episodes like that?

This was Adult Swim, and it was a contest night. Winner of the Burger King Have It Your Way contest got to program the schedule with whatever they wanted (from available shows) for the night.

Bleach and Naruto still doing well, hopefully One Piece can pick up some momentum over the next few weeks now that we're out of awful filler. The fact people return for Clone Wars is hilarious.

Edit 2: Here is a better break down of the numbers

October 6th 2013

12:00AM Bleach 1.215 million
12:30AM Naruto 1.091 million
1:00AM One Piece 897,000
1:30AM Soul Eater 872,000
2:00AM Sword Art Online 781,000
2:30AM IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix 629,000
3:00AM Star Wars: Clone Wars 643,000
3:30AM Big O/An 577,000
4:00AM Fullmetal: Brotherhood 545,000
4:30AM Cowboy Bebop 502,000
5:00AM Inuyasha 548,000
5:30AM Inuyasha 559,000

October 6th 2012

12:00AM Bleach 1.106 million
12:30AM Samurai 7 874,000
1:00AM Casshern Sins 683,000
1:30AM Eureka 7 668,000
2:00AM Sym-Bionic Titan 717,000
2:30AM Thundercats 2011 727,000
3:00AM Fullmetal: Brotherhood 646,000
3:30AM Fullmetal: Brotherhood 578,000
4:00AM Ghost in the Shell 516,000
4:30AM Ghost in the Shell 547,000
5:00AM Cowboy Bebop 540,000
5:30AM Cowboy Bebop 553,000

Increase/Decrease from 2012 -> 2013
12:00AM: Bleach -> Bleach, +109,000
12:30AM: Samurai 7 -> Naruto, +217,000
1:00AM: Casshern Sins -> One Piece, +214,000
1:30AM: Eureka 7 -> Soul Eater, +204,000
2:00AM: Sym-Biotic Titan -> Sword Art Online, +64,000
2:30AM: Thundercats (2011) -> IGPX, -98,000
3:00AM: Fullmetal:Brotherhood -> Clone Wars, -3,000
3:30AM: Fullmetal:Brotherhood -> Big O, -21,000
4:00AM: Ghost in the Shell -> Fullmetal:Brotherhood, +29,000
4:30AM: Ghost in the Shell -> Cowboy Bebop, -45,000
5:00AM: Cowboy Bebop -> InuYasha, +8,000
5:30AM: Cowboy Bebop -> InuYasha, +6,000

So the top of the block is doing a lot better as a whole, the middle of the block is doing a worse, IGPX and Clone Wars don't hold peoples attention as well as Thundercats and FMA:B did.

Heh. I actually recall that night. It was that long ago? Damn

This episode of InuYasha reminded me why then Jinenji episode was useless. The series addressed the racism bit first during the mother demon episodes when InuYasha meets his "mother" and flash backs to when he was a child and how he was treated differently.

IGPX - eh.
Big O - People have seen the eps. 20 times over.
IGPX has been awesome since the end of the first season, we've already established that the mediocre ratings are probably due to the piss poor few episodes that start the series off on the wrong foot.

Big O season 2 isn't something that people have seen over and over like Bebop. The problem is that it airs at 3:30AM and skipped the first season.
