Probably would've been brought up earlier. With the amount of Ford hate overall, it wouldn't have taken long for anybody to dig up something like that.

It's okay. Ford showed up after 12:30 and then left City Hall by 3:45. A nice full day.
Ford said he could not comment on a video "that I have never seen or does not exist."
He was waiting until the tape was no longer available. I wouldn't be surprised if the video owners are already on their way to Alberta right now.
Predictable? Why wouldn't he deny it? The video doesn't seem like it will surface.

With the constant shitstorm surrounding this guy and his actions, it has to come to an end at some point. He could have bowed out here, but he'll cling on as long as he can it seems.

So basically, after all the other crap he has done, you think he should step down after these allegations with no concrete evidence?
Should or would? He SHOULD have never run in the first place because he's completely and unsurprisingly inept and has been since day 1. If he gave a crap about this city, he SHOULD have taken any out he has had since he registered to run up until today.
It's a shame that all the other stuff he's done is seemingly not enough to get him out of office as it is.
He doesn't have much credibility to rely upon at this point, so the benefit of the doubt for this is on the media's side and not his. The events of the past week show that something is up and lends further credence to the video's existence.
When comes the point where the mayor is just so little respected or followed that he is just incapable of leading the city anymore?
He should leave. Instead we'll continue to be stuck with a terrible mayor until either the video comes out, or the next major upset happens.
All I'm saying is unless the video is made available (lmao), this will not be the event to make him step down. I'm not even against him stepping down, but I am worried who would replace him. You think Ford is bad? Imagine Chow somehow got voted in?

I imagine Doug Holyday would step in, at least temporarily. Depending on how much time it is between Ford stepping down and the next election, I could see Holyday just riding it out. There is, of course, no real precedent for it, of course. And Holyday does side with Ford on many issues, so it's not like any sort of 'nightmarish socialist scum' would be picked to replace him by council. If that's what you're worried about.
You may have to worry about this when the next election does come around however.

If Ford stepped down then Holyday would be mayor. And please don't compare Chow to Ford. I know some people don't like her but c'mon...
At least hard-working orientals go to city council meetings.

I think Doug Holyday wants to be Mayor, based on what he has said in the past few days, he seems to be fed up with Ford and believes he could actually get shit done if Ford wasn't around...

I'm starting to get the sense that a lot of Councillors are just fed up with the work they're trying to do being overshadowed by Ford's missteps and the circus that surrounds him, day-in, day-out. If he deigns to grace the building with his presence at all, that is.
I'm also of the impression that being mayor has overwhelmed Ford and he just doesn't have the mental energy to handle what being the mayor of Canada's largest city requires: schedule-wise, communications-wise, political acumen-wise.

Apparently the Globe is going to put a big Rob Ford story online at 3am.......there has been some twitter teasing
They either bought the video ahead of time or apparently they had a story of the Ford family connected to some drug thing. At least that's what reddit says

The video dealer going silent and the Globe & Mail having a huge story tomorrow is quite the coincidence. If the rumours are true and it's a drug-related story they've been working on for months, getting their hands on the video would be huge.

People are saying on twitter and reddit that the Globe has been sitting on this story for a long time, now it's time to release the video now that Gawker and The Star have opened the floodgates. I have to say, what would have happened had Gawker not broken the story? The Toronto Star said that they saw the video a few hours after Gawker published their story.

It was CNN that messed it up, Gawker was asking if they'd help get the video but instead CNN called Ford's office and then the story had to be published ASAP
Yeah I know, but it was still Gawker that first made the story known to the public.
