Saxobank setting the place up the NC - are they expending all their efforts considering that Astana still has about 6-7 up the climb?

About time Saxobank acts like the team that has the leader, this can only mean Andy is going to attack, but I don't think we are going to see any difference between Contador and him today.

The stage is fantastic por Samuel if he can keep with the leaders until the top.

Its true they have to considering that they are protecting yellow, but still there's scope for Astana to string out Andy over the next few km up the climb. Let's see.

There it is ! First Andy attack.

Edit: It's amazing how exciting is seeing one guy suddenly changing his pace and other guys jumping behind him, my friends that don't like cycling always look at me with weird faces.

No one collaborates with Alberto, Andy will get there again, woah, what a tense moment.

Edit: 18seconds behind at the top.

He will catch him. Did you see the fear in Alberto's eyes.
Andy would have broken Alberto if not for the bloody chain. The catch up will either be glorious or filled with failure, both men are taking big risks.

I think Alberto was going to hang well the Andy attack, well, we will never know now.

Holy shit, Samuel leading now the descent :D

Edit: 31sec. right now.

Edit2: 23sec. Andy is there.

Edit3: 30sec now, when Samuel leads the difference increases.

Now it's Alberto's to lose, with superior team numbers, support and time trialling. Poor Andy, but I guess them's the breaks.

This is going to be a fantastic end of the tour, tomorrow a leg-breaker stage, and next day Tourmalet, Andy in full rage mode and Contador leading now, Samuel and Menchov waiting for the TT to get the podium, omg yes.

So, I missed the most interesting stage yet? Fuck... With the descend after the peak I never thought that things would get interesting.

Hmmmm, since tomorrow is the last mountain stage, is Lance actually going to try to redeem himself?

Contador is gonna have to fend off a lot of attacks tomorrow

You are not supposed to attack the yellow jersey in that situation. Very disgusting move by Cantador.

I think Contador did the right thing, Andy's ass was already bailed out in the first stages, and he didn't wait Contador when he had mechanichal problems too.

It's a disgrace and very bad luck, but it can happen to anyone.

But Contador didn't have the yellow jersey then, Andy had it on and still got attacked.
Guess its going to be a hot topic tonight and tomorrow

I'd consider tomorrow's stage bigger just due to the number of climbs they have. And just FYI to those people watching in the USA, Versus is going to be on air an hour earlier tomorrow and Thursday to get most of the stage in.

Stinks that Andy lost the Yellow, but no way would I all out stop on the mountain if I was in 2nd. I'd probably not go on an all out attack like Alberto did today, just continue to ride at a decent clip and take first when the fight was fair. Sucks even more because it looked like Andy was going to break the pack there for a moment.

Jeez. I defended Contador's last dick move (attacking his teammate Vinokourov), but I can't defend this one. He has all of France out for his blood now.

Goddamn I love cycling drama.

It's hard to explain this situation to people that don't watch normally, but it was definitely a dick move, and he deserves to be hated by the world. It's like Contador is a pro wrestler who just stole the good guy's girlfriend, broke his legs, and then nailed him with a chair in the hospital just to rub it in.

I see what you did there. ;)

But yeah, not really the way you want to beat your rival. I mean, how can Contador take pride in acting like this?

Exactly. If Andy didn't have the yellow fine but the yellow jersey garners respect not given to other riders.

It's not like there's one thing that puts Contador in the 'asshole' category; but his behavior over the last few tours, it adds up.

Happy to see Menchov & Gesink do well. Go Rabobank!

Great stage today and Thursday. Hope Andy makes Contador feel some pain today on the hills :D

edit: Well since I'm still up I might as well watch some of the race. Nice to see Armstrong in the front of anything this close to the end of his touring. And check out this YouTube video if you haven't been seeing commercials... so damn funny :lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzPq0hDdDhs

lol, hope Armstrong can stay away for 140 km.

Edit: What’s with half the “mountain stages” ending in descents. They’re supposed to end at the summit.

I love Armstrong :( Too bad The Tour does not seem to take a lot of interest over in the states?

I think Armstrong is more well known here in Belgium then in the US:lol Well tbh i do not care too much about the tour, but i do have respect for Armstrong, and he is pretty much the only reason i kinda follow it.

That and my girlfriend ...

God Versus’ coverage sucks. Five minutes of race coverage followed by four minutes of commercials.
It's so they can have the last climb commercial free. Nothing really happens till the last climb usually anyway.

Versus coverage rocks imho

Says who?.

Andy already got a free gift when they wait he and his brother, and then again he didn't wait for Armstrong, right? Double standards FTW.

Armstrong was not in the yellow jersey. Neither was Alberto.

Doesn't matter who is in yellow. He is granted respect. When he pees they wait. When he crashes they are supposed to wait.

If Alberto crashes or has mechanical issues and Andy attacks I would be bashing him as well. And who says? Every one. Even Alberto which is why he apologized on youtube yesterday.

When somone pees is tradition to not attack, and Armstrong and Alberto wasn't yellow jersey but Andy got and advantage thanks to that, is retribution as I see it.

And this was different, it was a technical issue, is part of the race, maybe for now on, when a F1 car has a technical issue, they should stop the race, allow the driver get another car, and restart the race as if anything happened.

And not everyone, Jalabert and Bruyneel thinks Contador did anything wrong....
