The Russia investigation is dead. This obviously makes Trump look guilty as hell, but who is going to do anything about it now? Republicans won't give a shit and will just spin this in their favor.

All that changes is that people have more to be pissed off about in 2018 and 2020, only now Trump gets more breathing room. This is a net loss for everyone except Trump. If he faces Nixon-level fallout from this, it won't be for years.

Elections are just next year though, and this will probably have an immediate effect on the House special elections currently going on.

The republicans in the house and senate have gone out of their way to protect the president from the russia investigation, The FBI was our last hope, Trump will nominate a friend of his (or someone with unquestionable loyalty to the republican party) so....that's not good.

Obviously the republicans will back Trump up on this, the russia story is one less thing they have to worry about. It's basically up to american voters to make it clear that this behavior isnt tolerable next year during the mid terms, but i dont see the republicans losing any voters of this, we have to hope that this behavior encourages more people to register to vote and put democrats in charge to stop the bleeding, then take them out of the white house in 2020.
