No. This needs to stop. They are not just ignorant people that keep making oopsies.

This was deliberate. They fired him over a reason Democrats were upset about. That way it's harder for Democrats to fight it. Them saying they are surprised about the reaction is just playing in to that. Democrats have not been demanding Comey be fired, not for months. They are faking ignorance and people are falling for it.

CNN saying they have sources saying the WH has been pressuring the Senate not to have these hearings this week nor have a special committee setup.

Well to be fair you can look here on neogaf and see every thread involving comey had a lot of people saying he wasnt worth shit and had no credibility because of the supposed hillary interference

If Trump ever ends up being brought down for any of this, I want to see Every. Single. Republican. in Congress rounded up and charged with obstruction of justice. They're all complicit in the coverup and aren't even pretending to be impartial.

So if they aren't stupid enough to think there wouldn't be political fall out, they're stupid enough to think people wouldn't see through such a paper thin attempt at covering their tracks.

Either way, this move was monumentally stupid.

Oh no, if we protest this, Hillary Clinton will never win!

This makes perfect sense when you look at the rest of Trump's week and realize that he still thinks the election results are literally the only thing that matters. Less so when you live in the world of short attention-span adults who have halfway forgotten the election campaign already, and will have consigned Clinton to a historical footnote within a year.

There was some talk going around that WH did last moment effort to have this weeks hearing of Yates canceled at last minute so CNN reporting lines up.

Can we just calm down and discuss the concequences of this on Trump and the rest of the country? From my prospective Comey was fired due to the investigation on Trump, but is he legally allowed to do that? What are the implications without screaming oh shit?

The only hope is MASSIVE turnout in the next midterms against the Repubs.

Guy on MSNBC made a good point about that "although I appreciate you clearing me of suspicion on three separate occasions" line in Trump's letter. Either Trump is lying through his teeth (most likely), or the investigator was having secret, improper communications with the subject of the investigation.

Anyone opposed to conducting an independent investigation at this point is a traitor to this country, full stop.
