Is it on as many streaming services as the series? People who watched the show on Netflix might want to be able to just buy the movie, for example.

IT's uh... on youtube if you wanna buy it. It's not on Canadian Netflix anyway.

I watched it this weekend. I legit love it, Sheryl Lee puts on such an amazing performance.

Still can't get over what a fantastic character Candie turned out to be. She's such a Moran, she outlucied Lucy.
I hope she can find her Andy one day and get away from those two dicks, even though I'm sure they own many sport coats.

I'm surprised by how people seem to think she is an airhead. She comes across to me as being well aware of what she is doing and does it purposely to be annoying and potentially is betraying the casino guys or something. I don't think we've seen enough of her to know either way though.

No spoiler tags needed for anything aired.

Richard murdered Miriam and left her trailer set to blow up. You can say it out in the open. It's cool.

I think the theory he's Boop's son is looking more and more likely cause of stuff like this.

Ohhhh

Ooooh

This would make sense

To be honest Candie seems to have changed behavior after she accidentally (maybe not so accidentally) hit one of the brothers with the controller, and said "how can you love me after what I did?" which maybe made her realize that she ain't in such a good position and is being probably objectified by the brothers and used a maid or slave or something. So this is her way of rebelling.

I might be wrong, most likely.

Yeah, Doc Hayward said the last time he saw Cooper was when Audrey was in the hospital after the bank explosion; Coop(who he thought was Cooper that is) visited her when she was in a coma.

It's uh.. pretty disturbing to think about.

I'm glad I decided to restart the episode with subtitles, since the leaking gas and candle thing flew right over my head initially.

Also, given the amount of abuse women suffer from men in this show, I found it kind of sweet how the casino owners were so gentle with Candie, even if Candie herself is not doing female representation any favors. Especially at the end when they admit that they keep her around because she has nowhere to go. Even the villains in Dougie's life have a soft side.

That actually surprised me as well!

I just love that the big bad mob guys turn out to be some of the most humanized characters we've seen so far. Not unlike Ike and his gentle affectations for his spike :p

By the end of this thing maybe Mr C and Carl will lead us all in a rousing rendition of This Lodge Is Your Lodge around the sycamores.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I gotta ask...
What are you trying to achieve with those
spoiler
tags
?

Just in case someone hadn't seen this week's episode yet. The first because people are waiting for that in anticipation, the second because as I said I was sure I read that would only be for the first few episodes. Either way, it's just built into me to spoiler shit around when something has just hit and people might still be to see it.

I know forum ethics don't need it it's just me. I'll try and refrain from doing it going forward.

Dougie was super fit.
Janey-E was thirsty and they're falling in love.

Fearing for Janey-E now and how Coop will snap back...

It's good to be polite for other's courtesy, but we decided both before this thread and in this thread when it started before the first part aired (and Parts 3 & 4 were about to air) that any episode that's aired on TV is free to talk about. During the first couple weeks, talking about Parts 3 & 4 (which were available online from Showtime but not aired on television yet) were to be put behind spoiler tags. In a similar way, Part 11 shows at ComicCon this week before it airs on TV so if anyone mentions anything about Part 11 before it airs on TV, put it in spoiler tags.

But several users post some live reactions and thoughts of the episode when it's airing on tv live (and recently more inner-circle bickering, I have done it as much as anyone else so not pointing fingers), and so spoiler tags aren't needed. I think most everyone here knows if you don't want spoilers for the newest episode, don't read posts after the newest episode aired on TV.

Yeah that shit fucking killed me; love how Candie doesn't give a fuck about their rants either (tho I wonder what is going on with her or if she's really just like that all the time)

Based on the limited behavior we see of her before she hit's Rodney with the remote, I don't think she was always like that. She seemed relatively fine before hand and they way the Mitchums are yelling at her now is reminiscent of early stuff of Janey-E with Dougie Coop. She (Candie) is borderline catatonic now.

What did Evil Coop want out of the box if he already knew Dale would be replacing Dougie in Nevada and had (hilariously incompetent) hitmen waiting? It almost seems like The Experiment / Bob's "mother" showing up is what was supposed to happen.

Some analysis I've seen was saying that Dale actually left the Red Room ahead of schedule which is (part of) why he ends up replacing Dougie instead of replacing Evil Cooper. Either way, if he left ahead of schedule, perhaps that's why Cooper took a detour to the box first. I don't think Cooper ending up in the box was part of the plan, but The Experiment ending up there, I have to assume was. My guess is Bob is searching for his "mother". I'm beginning to think Bob is on a voyage of self discovery/search for his creator. Looking back on how it happened, I think Bob was basically an abandoned child and now maybe he's looking for the meaning to his existence. Or maybe he just wants his Mommy.

Well, a tried and true tactic for mobsters is to target your loved ones, so...

Sonny Jim is on notice, too.

Sonny Jim might embrace the sweet release of death after hearing his Dopple-Dad bang his mom like she's been in a convent.

EDIT: As for that tweet for Criterion, I'm hoping it means they're going to do a full blow-out release of FWWM with original Theatrical edit and then a Director's Cut with all the stuff from The Missing Pieces put back in chronologically where they belong.

It has been posted a thousand times already, but I feel that "No Stars" deserves all the love in the world. Whether or not you agree with that artistic decision by Lynch and co, Twin Peaks has been killing it with the music selection for the end credits.

Some people hate the slight auto-tuning, but I personally love the song myself. Rebekah Del Rio really also has such a powerful voice that I find the pieces I've heard from her very impacting.

Kyle Maclachlan was 56 when they shot this (58 now).......now there is a man who has kept himself in damn good shape.

True true! Makes sense. I'm also now salty you've let me know people will see episode 11 before me :p

Would have preferred Lost Highway or Blue Velvet Criterion versions since I have FWWM from the Blu Ray collection. Still might double dip..... Actually triple dip.

Richard is such an infuriating character. If there's a comeuppance to come it will be glorious.

Great episode, love me some cartoon gangsters and the sound design. The plotlines and characters also finally start to connect. Last week was kinda weak, except for people finally starting to achknolwedge braindead Dougie.

Just got caught up. The Richard Horne robbery scene felt straight up Hertzfeldian, classical music, eerie repetitive voice, and extreme aggression that was downplayed by everybody in the scene. Felt like Lynch was taking cues from people who were taking cues from him

What are the flaws that are sticking out to you?

Honestly, I would save my feelings til after the finale but here's stuff that is bugging me about this season right now: Its lack of brevity even for a typical Lynch project (not withstanding Inland Empire, cause I have issues with that film). Lynch can get away with his movies because they're 2 hour films at times and are separated from previous fiction. It just feels like the balance needed to be better in order to help maintain a sense of pace with the show. Sure it's neat to see some surreal imagery and typical Lynch fuckery. But it begins to grate on me a bit when it feels like Lynch is just doing it because he could and he was able to do so. And you can say, ''Well, Lynch just has a challenging vision that you can't see right now because it'll all pay off at the very end and when you see all together.'' That can be true but the journey to get there so far hasn't felt like it's been that well-paced or that interesting with the episodes being cut up like this. We all feel that everyone's stories have to converge at some point, but it's dragging its feet to get there. And not only that, it continues to add more stuff on top on the stuff needing to be resolved that makes it feel like Frost is gonna have a giant info dump scene that could have been doled out over the season (or written in a book).

Also this season is missing the heart/emotion that I felt for the show previously at times with characters' arcs. The only characters that I feel emotionally invested or interested in is with Boop, Janey-E, Hawk, and Bobby because of what has happened before. The rest of the cast in TP, LV, and SD are merely window dressing (for the moment). Certain old and new actors feel like they're being under-written and are just there to play a cameo. Perhaps they are going to be used late in the game at this point but's when the story is already having to finish up so it's still just a cameo. Perhaps I'll be eating crow next episode or maybe when we can all see this as the 18 hour movie as intended but this first half has been somewhat exhaustive and laborious to watch instead of making me absolutely buy into what Lynch is doing this season. Still love Episode 8 but beyond that, it's time for this show to make me feel something other than impatience and befuddlement. Give me some emotional weight with all of this.

If that is ALL this show has made you feel, I'm surprised you have managed to stick it out so long!

In this weeks episode I felt terror, anxiety, joy, laughter, confusion, wonder. Those are emotional responses on top of also acknowledging the cool stylistic aspects of the show. There are very few shows that can really make me feel all of those things in a single episode.

Oh no, I really did like the initial first two episodes! Was even cool with Dougie for awhile, but his lack of character development made me go :/ whenever I see him now. I was really excited and was willing to go along for the ride as long as it felt like it had momentum and it's only just picking up steam at this point when we only have so much time left now. These last two episodes are great but it feels like we should have seen these events quite some time ago. And also, I'm a fan of TP and Lynch. I want to see the conclusion of whatever this all is because of what I have seen before in the original seasons, FWWM, and the Secret History. I also love when Lynch gets all goofy and odd. But even I have limits when I'm sitting there watching the broom scenes, Dougie drawing, weird hotel noises, and it just feels like Lynch could have cut this down a bit to do something else worthwhile. I'm just not liking how Lynch (and Frost) is going about with presenting the story and conflict. I don't feel like it's at their best or their most collaborative.

I definitely feel there are some pacing issues with some scenes going on too long etc, but I really didn't feel any of that at all in this weeks ep. I was totally happy with the pacing this week and the content so it really did surprise me to see a lot of negativity around here. Dougie I actually find less frustrating as time goes on... he's a welcome relief from all of the darkness.

The main thing this season that's missed the mark for me is mostly Andy and Lucy, but they've had some good stuff over the past 2 weeks.
