To make things worse, Torchic learned Mirror Move over Ember.

With Ember forgotten, it is probably a good idea to cancel evolutions until Torchic learns Flamethrower at 43. Neither Combusken or Blaziken can learn any Fire moves past this point and the next useful move, Sky Uppercut, only comes at 50.

How easily are Heart Scales found in this game, anyway?

Heart Scales are found as hidden items on beaches (of which there are many in Hoenn), or on wild Luvdiscs. With all the A presses, chances of finding one even without an Itemfinder are decent.

However, trying to do something precise like pick one move from a list of 12+ moves that the move-relearner teaches...without democracy, we'd be better off using the Overheat TM from Flannery, or Fire Blast TM from Lilycove dept store if we can get it. Overheat wouldn't be so bad because we switch out a lot, and stat changes are neutralized.

Actually it learns take down at 33. But if it evolves into Mighteyena it doesn't learn an attacking move until 37 (Take Down)
