Making sure you don't get cornered is not 'ducking'. He was just circling around, engaging then circling back around when Diaz kept coming back at him. At some point, a smart fighter should've realized this and changed his own footwork to negate it (more lateral movement).
Diaz just kept doing the same shit and expected him to wear out.
Smaller ring would likely result in more wrestling type matches if you really think about it.

As a Penn fan, i hope people bashed Edgar the way they are Condit, since he just used the same Blueprint. And i still believe Penn has better standup than Diaz, but Diaz had a huge reach advantage!

In the division? I don't think so. I do think everyone will quiet down about him being this amazing boxer after seeing that hilarious disparity in footwork. He has great hands but that was getting pretty frustrating to watch

Would you have no problem with giving the fight to Nick then for doing...nothing? He didn't do shit. Carlos didn't do much either but he did more. It wasn't the greatest fight but just because you don't like how Carlos won doesn't mean he deserves to lose. Nick didn't do shit.

I thought the first round was uneventful and a toss-up. I had round 2 for Diaz. 3 and 4 were Conduit. 5th round was hard to score because Conduit won it early, but then got taken down and gave up his back. Even though I'm a Diaz fan, I'm not mad that Conduit won. He had the smarter gameplan and imposed his will. The Machida era is still alive and kicking in a different weight class.

For a card that was relatively dull and a decision finish, I can't say I've been as excited about the way a PPV ends like this one has. It's too good to be true. Diaz retiring like a bitch and probably about to get axed? Man I dunno what could top it. Maybe .. MAYBE Mark Hunt submitting Fedor on a prelim.
Heck nick doesn't show up for championship pressers, he's not going to show up after a loss and retiring.

Circling back to the center of the ring is just good, smart movement. Nick Diaz could have tried to cut Condit off but basically chose to just walk forward the entire time and eat leg kicks like a champ.Ninja Scooter

I was shocked at the amount of people on the UFC site pissed about the result, and there's even more of it here. I didn't think there was any doubt this was Condits fight, sure Diaz was more "aggressive" and Condit took advantage of that aggressiveness and beat him...
The baby kick comments are ridiculous, there was defiantly a point in the 5th round where Diaz was quite obviously bothered by the fact he got kicked so many times.

Condit threw more leg kicks than anybody in the history of the UFC. Diaz didn't even walk out of the cage with a slight limp.
