You know whats worse than trying to superjump in on Tasky with Shuma assist? This guy I fought online who had Dormammu with Shuma assist. Fucking pillar and salty ball floated me so high in the air I high fived GOD before dieing somewhere in the clouds. I literally had no ability to land and since I superjumped no assist could be called.

I died laughing my ass off.

I wonder if this will score any higher than MvC3 did. It's probably not going to as evidenced by other disc-based fighting game revisions.

fighting game reviews never make any sense, i dont know why you all are bothering to read them. 99% of the time they're written by crappy players.

I actually have a pretty good win percentage online in vanilla, but

1. I haven't played since April or something like that, because outside of playing random vs random with my friend I didn't like the online. Matchmaking took forever and lobbies were pointless due to cardhumping.
2. I mostly only seemed to fight people who had no clue what they were doing
3. I'm really only good with Taskmaster and I never even thought about learning relaunch combos, I played Hulk and Dormammu because they were pretty easy to use on a basic level and people fell for their BS
4. I don't use assists because I forget to

I plan on actually taking Ultimate seriously, but I don't expect to be winning tournaments any time soon.

Yeah, I really don't see a point to fighting game reviews most of the time, usually the only thing they're good for is telling you what to expect in terms of content, but when it comes to gameplay? Let's just look at the review talking about Arthur in the "blow ups" post.

Hmmm, well that would certainly mean they're selling it. :p I never really looked into it, I just remember someone posting about it. They could have been full of it.

EDIT: it's definitely available for pre-order on Kmart.com, so I guess it'd be in stores too?

Exactly. I hate when people point out the "crappy play" of reviewers or sites demoing the games. This kind of elitism is bad for the genre. Companies need to win over these players. I agree though, for anyone following the game, a review is useless at this point.

While that's true, I don't think that many people are basing their decision of purchasing this game up to a review. Even very casual players have pretty much already decided whether or not they're going to pick up the game.

I think it's pretty even. Several people here seem to think it's stronger on PSN, but I really don't think that's the case at all. FGC's have expanded since early launch.

I think the IGN reviewed use the phrase "the game is still pretty light on new modes." fives times. Not that they're wrong, but they could have at least mixed the wording up.

You're right. Due to Capcom being complete idiots, many people will be buying Assassin's Creed: Revelations instead tomorrow. lol

I always see people say that but guys like krone play on PSN all day so he must be playing with some heavy hitters.

When I was actively playing ranked matches on MvC3 before retiring it, I had gone from being good at the start (got my 5 in a row trophy without much effort) to being demoted to something like 8th or 9th Ranger. I don't think I ever got out of 8th rank, only maybe to 7th lord at one point briefly... my ranked win rate was about 50%, if that. :lol

Now I do know some people that say they're not good but they apparently are talking with comparison to people like Justin Wong and ComboFiend and such. When you compare them to me, I'm lucky to get 1-10 and I'm free.

That said, if I play the "truly casual" crowd who haven't played fighting games on a regular basis for the last 20 years, I usually clean house.

I forget, did they add the "online training mode with fight request" to this, or was that only for SFxT?

Because I wouldn't mind sitting in the lab with another scrub and talking things out and giving each other pointers and such too. Though that means I'd have to find my bluetooth headset. :3

He does. I've wandered into one of his lobbies where he's shredding everyone. If y'see a porkloafking, that's him. Or was if he changed it.

I'd imagine the tournament guys have it on both systems, though.

Considering joining the scrub league on 360 but I'm probably borderline. I played a huge amount of matches in Vanilla but only have a winrate slightly less than 50%

I think Combofiend is the only big name who was vocal about owning MvC3 on PS3.
I recall Justin, former EMP guys, etc putting the PS3 version on blast for having framedrops they weren't used to on Xbox 360 version. I'm sure they eventually got it on PS3 though, as that became the defacto standard at majors.
