Uncharted 4 runs at 1080p and targeting 60fps

People are reading way too much into the title. If anything It just means a change in Drake as a character.

Drake's Deception turned out to be an accurate title for Uncharted 3. So, this could very well be accurate for this as well. But i'm still not sure that they'd kill Drake. That'd be a huge decision for the studio to make. It's one thing to have him step aside as the lead in the series and it's something completely different to kill him.

Yea, I honestly see Sully or Elena dying more than Drake since you'd still get the emotions and outrage but not lose the star of the series just in case.

I don't know, but the darker tone should be interesting. I just hope they keep some of the old light-hearted banter since that made Uncharted for me.

Agreed. Some mix would be best. I think/hope they will though, I heard it again on the replay, I think Sully subtly tried to lighten it up just a bit like only he can, mainly that "no such thing as a surefire plan" line.

This was THE mic drop moment of E3 2014.

Yeah Sony won this shit again. Naughty Dog is the MVP, shootin' js all day. Done. That's it. Full stop.

Why are people thinking this is CG? This is the super-high res in-game model of Nathan Drake. The cutscene model, whatever it's called. What's the name of that model? In-engine, I guess.

They promised with this gen on PS4, models will look the same on PS4 ingame no change at all. Read previous news.

Unchrated game always had the same visuals effecst and same untouched models from cutscenes to ingame and you can check that, only TLOU didin't (while they could maintain same models at tha res) that because they wanted to do it in the remastered version, just to fool as as if they brought new things and upgrades besides more FPS and higher res and AA.

Still trying to digest this.

After some close inspection of the 60fps trailer posted, it's a little more believable. You can see some low poly rocks and also the sort of angular sand as it deforms. I don't know if it'll run at 60fps but it's definitely not some impossible hours-per-frame pre-rendered cgi.

In engine is NOT in game. I suspected this was the case. I look forward to seeing some actual gameplay.

Exactly this is the best looking game ever, nobody is denying that but there is a direct distinction regarding in-engine and realtime in the past games. Someone needs to ask if the REALTIME visuals look exactly like that.

Joel was around 30k including hair

lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, Nathan Drake at first Uncharted was 30K on the first uncharted
on second uncharted he was 80K in singleplayer and same models and efefcts used between custcnes and ingame : http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/5942.html and 47k for multiplarer

Uncharted 3 characters swapped models and got lower poly characters in multiplayers when 3D is enabled. (Look at zbrush official threads for it)

Dunno about TLOU though, they surely used lower poly characters that looked different from custscne to ingame while they could have kept the same models in it with 720p but that because they wanted to do it in the remastered version, just to fool as as if they brought new things and upgrades besides more FPS and higher res and AA.

Yeah. No.

how can this be real time in engine ? I mean look a the fly. you want to tell me that is real time ? when all other Devs cant even manage half that ?

I said it in the other thread and I will say it here as well. I don't believe this is real time. maybe target render. I will be happily wrong too lol

I think there is a difference between real time and in-engine.

When the The Order: 1886 was revealed, the footage was called "in-engine" and it also turned out to be the gameplay visuals.

We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Yeah I'll believe it when I see it. That being said Uncharted 3 cutscenes looked amazing so there's no reason to believe this shouldnt be so.

If these are the visuals we can expect from PS4 moving forward, then this generation can and will easily last for a hell of a long time.

I think we're going to be seeing near photorealism in certain parts of certain games by 2018/2019.

I think the order is pretty damn close. Plus this is the naughty gods were talkin bout here.

So, nowhere is it saying this was real-time? Everywhere its only in-engine.

BTW model looks outstanding for less than 80k. Really great texturing and shading.

I think going this long without seeing anything from Naughty Dog or Sony Santa Monica really made peoples' expectations for PS4 skew low.

i feel like this would be the fidelity on their cut scenes for U4 and judging by U2-3, TLOU the visuals aren't super far removed from what they get in their cut scenes on PS3, so even if U4 gets close to this i will be blown away cause this trailer looks absurdly good

as many have foretold: year 2-3 games will show handily the power gap...

Yea, makes me laugh at all the people that expected the PS4 was already maxed. They think Cerny was lying in his 2-3 years comment?

It's as if they forgot every other console generation and how efficient developers get and use the hardware more effectively. It's only fitting that Naughty Dog would be the studio to show those people what's up.

PS4 games so far have been hamstrung by a couple of factors. The newness of the hardware and the fact that games releasing now would have been started before the hardware was final. And the prevalence of cross-gen games.

Now that cross-gen seems to have ended and devs have come to grips with the new consoles, we'll see them really start to shine. Especially first party games.

I laugh at people who think hardware are "maxed".
