Uncharted 4 runs at 1080p and targeting 60fps

Yeah. No.

He looks so hunky, but he really reminded me of Tommy Tallarico at an angle.

We need a comparison of Nathan Drake throughout all four games. He keeps changing.

I'm assuming those are just the super impressive high quality cutscene character models and the gameplay ones aren't quite as nice (though still really really ridiculously good looking)

The time of impressive hyperdetailed enclosed enviornments is over. The open streets of Batman and AC:U looked much more impressive to me than Uncharted or The Order.

It can't look that good. Keep dreaming...

That's too picture perfect. But if it is slightly close.........

Looks better than Crysis 3. (sorry had to do it)

I love the fact that they themselves labeled it as a "gamersyde" trailer.
It is incredibly jarring seeing this in 60fps. I'm not used to Uncharted being that, but I definitely could. But 1080p though hell yes. Naughty Dog are clearly wizards. Why the hell they didn't have a gameplay demo is something I cannot understand.

And jesus, Drake looks old. Probably 10 years+ since the last one or something.

There's no way in hell they're going to be able to pull off those graphics at 1080p at 60 fucking frames per second.

No way.

No fucking way.

Holy shit no fucking way

agreed, not to mention the graphics dont solve the problem of nathan as a character being torn between his actions in the game and his character in cutscenes. It should be the end of the cutscene entirely imo.

Yeah OK I don't believe the game will actually look like what was shown, and definitely not 1080p/60. If I'm wrong, well then... fuck.

It is incredibly jarring seeing this in 60fps. I'm not used to Uncharted being that, and I'm not entirely convinced it's something I want. I'd have to play it to decide. But 1080p though hell yes. there is literally no gameplay benefit to being less than 60fps, and there is a big gameplay benefit from playing at 60fps (even putting aside the demonstrable, factual visual superiority). So there's nothing you have to play unless you just want to invent dislike for no reason.

It looks funny. I don't know what else I'm supposed to say other than that? If the gameplay benefits from it I'm all for it, but that doesn't change the fact it's something I'm not used to from that series. I'm a giant Uncharted fanboy so I'm fine with whatever decisions they make. Even if they take a bit to get used to.

you don't have to be used to anything. I'm saying it's nothing you have to play. There has never once been a game on the planet that played better at 30fps than 60fps.* Not one, ever.

This won't be the first one. There are tangible gameplay and visual benefits to 60fps. There are none that 30fps has over 60fps.

*Except the games that were originally made at 30fps and then forced to run at 60fps, and you get skipped animations or non-functional gameplay. But that's not the scenario we're talking about here.

Bullshit will the game look that good, with IQ that good, running at 1080p and 60fps.

Would love to be wrong, but come on, that was CG.

PS3 is going on 8 years old & PS4 GPU is 10 x more powerful with newer tech & 16 x the memory & people doubt ND could pull off them graphics on PS4 when the PS3 was able to pull this off?

In-engine means it's being rendered in real time. What it doesn't mean is that it's actual gameplay footage. Most games use in-engine cutscenes. This was one of those.

If it was actual gameplay, they'd say as much. In-game, or gameplay footage (like The Order).

No different from trailers for racing games using its replay mode. It's certainly being rendered real-time by the console, but looks way better than in-game.

The cutscenes in TLOU were in-engine and those were definitely not rendered on a single PS3 system. When you watch the cutscenes on your PS3 they are basically just video files being played. Uncharted was the same.

The question is if the cutscenes on UC4 will be running in real time on the actual console and not just a bunch of video files.

Now, as foretold, we enter the age of endless threads, arguing over the reality of 60 vs. 30. Many will come to fight the good fight only to be slain and their blood washed away by the tears of their widows and children. Doubters will counter with pie charts and graphs, citing computer physics to support their claims that the Naughty Dogs cannot do that which requires magic. The believers will rally and fight, blinding thy enemy with tweets and blogs while shouting "heresy!"

In the end, only the game will remain and in that game one must die.

But who?
