Uncharted 4 runs at 1080p and targeting 60fps

its hilarious how you guys keep falling for this CG bullshit. In engine simply means exactly that, Another way of skirting around saying pre rendered using the games engine.

should I go ahead and create the gfx downgrade disappointment thread now or later?

Bu...but its NaughtyDog!!!

It just struck me this is Uncharted 1 equivalent in level of graphics for the PS4. I can't imagine what sorcery Naughty Gods will bring to the table with their Uncharted 2 and 3 equivalent games even if they probably won't be Uncharted games.

Look how he pressed the sand with his wet forearm and thus making the pressured sand area wet too. Better dream to get such details even in movies, let alone games.

Look at how his nose and mouth are dipping water strings so realistically.

This trailer was a big disappointment for me. After following the impressive Batman footage, this just seemed silly. We got so much gameplay and substance from everything and then, a guy walking into the jungle? That's it?

It's not CG, say whatever you like you're wrong. Might as well make the thread now, see how that works out for you.

Water trickling down his nose too while he got up.

These little tiny details are a waste of resources in a gameplay scenario because people would hardly notice them from the regular camera angle

Sure, will go good with your other great thread ideas like this one here.

Quit being a drama queen over things. Sometimes users post stuff just for attention and I see your posts and ignore them mostly but they are awfully attention seeking.

People keep making this mistake just like in the SW thread, in-engine does not equal in-game, it can look even a generation above the actual gameplay, don't be fool and buy this PR, they are just counting on ignorance here. The game will not look like this in gameplay.

Stupid developers!

Why are they trying to target 60 FPS to appeal to some vocal minority on the internet?

They are going to RUIN the Cinematic feel of the game god damn it!

what does PlayStation 4 having no games have anything to do with this uncharted trailer being nothing but CG rendered?

Maybe you should go from mostly ignoring my posts, to fully doing so and put me on your ignore list.

Why doesn't Naughty Dog let other first party devs use their engine? This shit looks way better than the Order, runs at a higher framerate, and is rendering more pixels to boot. Assuming of course, this information is correct and this footage is a close representation of what the final product will look like.

EDIT: ^^ Lol, beat.

While it looks good I don't think it "looks way better than the Order." this is all subjective but the character model has a more plastic feel than the characters shown in the order. This has always been the biggest problem in my opinion when graphics get too close to CGI levels. The Scenery is absolutely amazing but so is the scenery in the new trailer for the Order, just different venues. Look at the scene where the werewolf rubs his fingers together in Galahads blood then they close in on his model. The detail in that character model is absolutely ridiculous. Both games put everything else out there to shame also would like to mention if that GTAV was actually running on PS4 then I am very impressed with that also as it looked ridiculous for an open world game.

Your pessimism is warranted and refreshing

it says 'directly captured from a ps4'..

It wasn't CG. Listen to the interviews tomorrow with Naughty Dog. Mark this post.

Ok but it doesn't count if they say "in engine" or "captured directly from a PS4"

Did anyone else think the way it panned behind Nate as he stood up it might transition to gameplay? Until they cut away to the hanging cages...

That's exactly what I expected. Then was hugely let down. Cos it was at that point I thought "wait this is fucking real time?"

it says 'directly captured from a ps4'..

I posted this in the other thread but it bears mentioning here:

Key word: IN ENGINE.

Meaning the same, pre-rendered cutscene tricks The Last of Us and Uncharted used on PS3. I'll believe this when I see it running in real time as gameplay.

Was I the only crazy person who thought it was going to transition into gameplay looking like that? I was about to flip haha.

it doesn't say in-engine anywhere.

where did it say in-engine?

I'd believe the same thing about the cutscenes in uncharted 2 and 3. Captured on the engine rendered by a PS3*

*at 15fps recorded to a 30fps fmv

I don't care what Naughty Dog says about this particular render, the full game will nor maintain that level of detail, full guns blazing.

If I'm wrong, then I fucking win anyway.

I'd imagine the actual game to pretty much be the reveal with some lower res environmental textures here and there along with some additional visual blemishes like jaggies. Which would still look pretty damn impressive. I'm not holding my breath for 60 fps though. And I'll be honest. I'd rather they aim for 30 fps and get closer to the reveal than aim for 60 fps and make more concessions.

I can't believe some of you guys are doubting ND's graphical power. I mean, we saw again and again and again and again what they can do with PS3. U3 was truly jaw dropping with zero frame drop.

So now you are doubting them? WTF? Graphic wise ND is second to none in this industry.
in ND we trust.

This is all the trailer says on that score ->

But again, it's not CG. CG has a very specific meaning. This is not CG. You guys will see as the E3 interviews are done, just be patient.

I do not think for a second this will actually make it at 60fps though.

I don't go digging for your posts but already called you out on that thread only on memory alone. Keep on making sensationalist posts though. It seems you re good at that. I don't ignore anyone but I have 2 eyes and 2 ears. I read and ingest a lot and often don't comment. Your posts sometimes come up and make me shake my head. I don't have to point these things out a lot and that's why I myself don't try to have overreactions or hyperbolic statements.

If you think you want to line up the future downgrade thread then put it on your calender. I don't even think it's important as ND is a world class dev.

Hearing people in the audience practically laughing at disbelief at the opening shot of Nate's face made it really awesome moment for me.

Sad it was a incredibly short teaser though. I also like that it seems like the final Uncharted game.

CG implies that the trailer doesn't contain game assets. Which is false. The reveal is comprised entirely of game assets (just higher res).

60 FPS? ND knows what's up, unlike RAD and Evolution.

Edit: Well they could always pull the "30 fps was better for our game" shit that Evo did because they were also aiming for 60 fps at one point.

If they hit, that's cool. Not counting on it though. They have made it clear its not important to them for these types of games.

Can a PS4 not playback pre-recorded footage?

Heh, I admire your enthusiasm. Tomorrow it is then.

My understanding of things was that in-engine means it's running in real-time using the engine, but it's not gameplay. Hasn't that always been what that means?
