Uncharted: The Lost Legacy |OT| Ladies Trip

My game got stuck trying to load after a death. It was stuck at 35% for like 3 minutes and I just gave up and went to sleep. Also my PS4 drive was working like overtime. It's never been this loud at all(I take good care of my PS4 as well so I'm a bit stumped as to what happened)

Finished it in about 8 hours, loved it

Those final 30 minutes are the best ending sequence in the series IMO, (counting off the U4
epilogue)

Now to the spoilers thread!

Can anyone here who thought uncharted 4 was awful give me some impressions?
I loved uncharted 2 if that helps but i found uncharted 4 to be a boring slog with poor pacing when all i wanted a fun filled exciting adventure.

I didn't think UC4 was awful, but I was not a fan. The Lost Legacy is a much, much better game.

- Pacing is improved. Only 1 slow walk focused chapter (the intro) after which the game beings a gradual ramp up that's much more satisfying (if a bit more traditional) than UC4. The back half of the game, in particular, feels like a concerted effort to provide the kind of payoff we expect from the series that UC4 chose to go away from, including what is EASILY the best closing chapters in any Uncharted game.

- Puzzles are not only arguably the best in the series, but feel like a more important part of the campaign due to how focused it is.

- Climbing and general navigation still play a large part in the campaign, but are more interesting than UC4 because the environments, climbing paths, and rope/piton jumps are better. And again, the game is shorter which keeps the low risk traversal from getting tired.

- While Naughty Dog doesn't go back to the kind of combat led pacing that UC2 had, the lack of extreme slow chapters in The Lost Legacy alongside a better handling of small encounters makes action feel more prevalent, including, again, a completely ridiculous stretch late in the game that rivals any stretch in the series. So while you don't get those longer encounters from UC2 and UC3 (hell even TLOU) that take you through an entire area exhausting combat gimmicks, iteration and polish have made this a more consistent action game than UC4.

- The tone is lighter. Chloe is still about that life, Nadine is a great character, and there's a lot of fun dialogue in the game, especially in the 2nd half, that keeps the narrative from being the heavy guilt trip UC4 was. Not saying that either one is right or wrong, but TLL is definitely more outwardly pulp and fun. Having said that, I do think the treasure hunt and core narrative are stronger in UC4, but this is a trade-off I am 100% okay with.

Just finished it, and my god, I really did not expect the
train sequence
, what a great finale. Really enjoyed the game and I hope we will see the characters again in the future.

There has to be a limit to how much graphics they can get out of the base PS4 model.. thought Uncharted 4 was the gpu fully utilized then there was Horizon and now there's this. How the heck is this even possible

They have to sell their souls for our entertainment. ;P

Just a big and everlasting thank you to Naughty Dog, to the women and men in the industry in genreral.

Just finished it, very enjoyable. Feel like I could play one of these shorter Uncharted (thought it still took me like 8 hours) every year.

Also i'd very much like Chole and Nadine to beat me up.

Played about 90 minutes last night.

Had some trouble. Hope it's just me being rusty. I had trouble figuring out where to go in the chase sequences and had some trouble with the shooting.

I'll play some more tonight.

I'm also using the Platinum headset and the 3D Audio is neat. Not run out and spend $150 for a headset that only 3 games support neat, but it is for sure an upgrade.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I'm only on chapter 4 but is it me or does Chloe not share Nates bad luck with climbing ?

At some point the framerate will start to take a hit. Happened with ps3. ND is usually very solid in framerate department, but I can kinda feel that TLoU on ps3, the framerate start to struggle.

Having Chloe and Nadine as the mains is like a breath of fresh air. Great choice.

Honestly it just shows that there's still plenty of life to Uncharted and plenty of things to explore. Nate can rest easy because there's plenty of characters that can take up the mantle.

Finished yesterday night. Very good but it got worse when
that other character showed up
, and the
final sequence
, while impressive, was mostly unnecessary. The spectacle was high but at that point they veered again towards their most usual gameplay tropes of form over substance,
set-pieces over direct control gameplay
.

Also
from that point onwards
the humor and the final
mcguffin
were pretty bad and poorly written IMO. All that said, the game is golden from the beginning until the last two hours.

It's sadly true that when two girls bond,
the guy will make everything awkwardly about himself
.
After he showed up
, the girls literally stopped
talking about themselves
, which was the best part the game IMO.

I'm enjoying this so much more than Uncharted 4. The stealth approach just works so much better than it did in 4, at least to me. Chloe puts a constant smile on my face. No not just from her being gorgeous, but from the nuance in her vocal performance and the facial expressions that accompany. This is fantastic.

It's also cool that the two main leads are women of color. You don't see that often in video games. I'm having a hard time thinking of any other female lead who's of Indian descent.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Sunhi gifs make the official trailers look like shit.

Well the official trailers are shit regardless. At least the online video ads that are spooling endlessly right now. Terrible editing and focus that almost downplays the strengths of the title entirely.

So I redeemed the MP dlc code in the box but am seeing nothing when I'm on multiplayer? What does this code even get you? Asav is a locked character behind those uncharted coins paywall.

Still loving it, left off towards the beginning of Chapter 7 last night.

Question: does this game do the stupid thing 4 did where treasures you be collected respawn on your second playthrough?

This game is seriously good -- a return to form for the UC franchise. I've already had the desire to replay the game and I attribute this to great pacing. Getting nostalgic about UC2 now. In terms of replayability, UC4 and TLL could not be more different. I occasionally went back to revisit levels I liked in UC4, but a whole run through was too much of a commitment, as well as draining. TLL is executed so damn well.

I'm on my second playthrough now - with the rocket launcher and the game is still so much fun to climb around and take snaps. Amazing vistas are amazing.

So i got the all the tokens which gave me the
queens ruby, which made finding treasure much better.
finished the game, loaded chapters to get treasures and i dont have it.. wtf? and it wiped all my stats!!

about the ending music:
What the fuck?? is this suddenly a dreamworks animated movie? hated it. not only that but i got copyright claimed on youtube.. :-/

In ‘Uncharted: The Lost Legacy,' AI Companions Act Like Real Humans

Completely agree with this article..

You really started to notice how well implemented their companion characters were in TLOU, with Ellie often wondering off and doing her own thing. Obviously it wasn't perfect, with her often bugging out during combat, but it definitely felt like a step up from their previous games. With TLL it feels like they've taken it a step further and I can't wait to see how they further evolve it with TLOU2.

Nadine would go off on her own to take down guys sometimes. So fucking cool and it would make sense since she's a badass.
