Many people said that same stuff after McCain lost and up sprang the tea party a few years later. Stop hoping for it, they're only going to get worse until the reality of shifting demographics hit them hard.

GOP is either going more extreme or more moderate in 2016. I think more extreme would be more entertaining. I think it's also more likely when the GOP has Fox News and Rush to echo chamber their increasingly irrational positions. GOP voters get their news almost exclusively from Fox News so it's actually Fox News that will determine the future of the GOP since they can demonize or anoint the 2016 GOP candidate contenders.

Took a little over an hour to vote. Pretty long line made worse by there only being a few poll workers. There were about 12 booths, which also made things longer

Best part was a Hispanic guy blurting out "his name is really Mitt I heard that niggas name was Willard."

The problem is less the party and more the people, the party is just pandering to a demographic it knows exists. I fear this issue wont resolve itself for years.

This is a shrinking demographic, the more they alienate pretty much anyone that isn't rich and white. The problem will solve itself if they keep it up.

Real quick can anyone post a radio feed of some political radio of some sort? Live NPR has music on now I think, and I would just stream video of something I know would be talking about it all day but my work computer overheats when I open a flash video thingy for more than an hour (I know I know, it's old and we use it for shit work).

Edit: Nevermind NPR has a streaming election thing all day. I'm excited.

Where I live, if the Republicans tried it on here, they'd get chased out of town. Only in America could the Republicans have and sway. And while I think Romney is a decent enough man, it's the party he (poorly) represents which scares me the most.

Same, they would be labeled extremists and no one would take them seriously at all. Only in America.

Lol local ad here in Ga that is playing for Congressman John Barrow. Thought you guys might enjoy this.

Fixed your video link for you ;)

Actually, you know, it's a pretty well made ad. I mean obviously it's out to lunch in terms of content and Obama isn't going to take away your guns, but the actual production wasn't bad. I was half expecting him to fire one off indoors.

Pick a random NPR station stream off iTunes or the NPR website or whatever. Every local station has something different on. Your local one must be classical format or something instead of news, because having music right now is pretty much ridiculous.

I was looking at the wrong place, but thanks!

Call me a skeptic but somehow I doubt that revolver was used to stop a lynching lol.

I don't believe the networks can report real numbers until the polls close. I believe the first polls close at 6 p.m. EST, so about 7 hours from now.
That would be because there aren't any real numbers to report until the polls close. Absentee ballots might be counted, but they aren't going to be released until at least the polls close.

They can't even report "fake" exit poll numbers until the polls close.
Those will leak before then. They'll report on the leak, and by coincidence, the numbers.

SC Voter Here:

+1 Obama (as if it matters in this red state.)

-1 Constitutional Amendment to create a Joint Ticket for the Governor & Lt. Governor, and strip the Lt. Governor of its Senate Presidency. I prefer gridlock to unified SC Republican incompetency.

So, when Obama gets re-elected, what are the odds the Republicans will just work with him to help the American people seeing as there's no possible threat of the black guy getting a third term?

I'd say just about 0 because this term will affect 2016 elections. When they don't help, hopefully they will be voted out in 2014.

Why not dust off and old chestnut for this thread. I had not seen this in a long time.

I can never understand how we can make near flawless self checkout machines and countless other electronic devices, but electronic voting machines are plagued with downtime, bugs, and everything else that goes wrong with them.
Voting doesn't happen as much as things being checked out, I guess.

Yep and one company (Diebold) has been making relatively flawless ATMs for decades yet their electronic voting machines were buggy, broken, insecure pieces of junk. Weird....

I voted no to all of the provisions. They all smelled of removing choice from the hands of the people. We're it up to me, state government would not be able to appoint any of their friends.

Well lynchings normally had a crowd of a few hundred to a thousand so, uh, unless the chamber fits a lot more bullets that I thought, I'm inclined to agree. Hahaha.

Lol not to mention he was a white dude in Ga say 100+ years ago...somehow I don't think he would have said much. This whole video is strange to me because he doesn't represent my district, but from what I know he has ran as a Democrat his past few terms. This kind of video seems like it would probably alienate a lot of minority voters.

Too bad it's probably going to pass though.

It would be nice if it didn't.

I'm also very concerned about voting machine security in SC. It doesn't strike me as safe.
