How would he push back exactly? What in his tax proposals would have prevented him from doing exactly what he did?
He can be hit or miss. Sometimes he will let you run him over other times he will challenge you.

Pence went from being composed to trying to interrupt every other line and failing to defend Trump or even answering straight.
Kaine started shaky, but he's really being savage.

Kaine got Pence to lie about what Trump has said, Pence has failed to defend Trump, and a few times Pence just outright contradicted Trump's policies
Also Pence hasn't said a single thing this entire debate that is true.

I think that Nate is saying that Pence looks calmer (except for RIGHT NOT BECAUSE KAINE'S ANSWER WAS AWESOME) but that Kaine's answers will be whats remembered.

Kaine can push on Russia, but don't use the same exact line over and over and over again to several different questions. He needs to be better at directing the question to Trump and Russia ties/opinions without saying the same leader line over and over again. That's my complaint. It's amateurish and doesn't show sophistication to his answer.
The news cycle is going to be on Trump and not Clinton. That's what matters. No one cares about the VP or this debate, so setting the tone for the next day or two is so important.
