Vara Dark: Grummz got a 72 hour ban in ESO for teabagging. ESO mods statement: "Teabagging is physical harm" Promises further bans even perms.

true story. i made a pure black khajit and called him Blackniss at the launch of the game and got banned (racist they said) 3 days. the blue hairs run deep there lmao.

Zero sympathy considering Grummz spent months complaining that AC Shadows was "offensive to japanese culture" and even supported measures that attempted to ban the game in Japan.

This is next level purple shit. Imagine being so fragile and stupid and perpetually powerless and offended as to call teabagging in a video game "physical" harm or harassment. I am a first responder and quite literally deal with life and death every day and this is what I come home to when I read about my favorite form of entertainment? It is honestly quite embarrassing to be alive in this timeline. I miss the 80's and 90's.

This is why you shouldn't play online games.

Say you are playing a game like this on PS5 and Sony bans you for it. You would lose all your games.

Screw multiplayer. If you play long enough, inevitably you will lose all your games.
Yea this is the main reason I don't do MP. I do miss the days of WoW and Ventrillo. Back then you could get kicked from a guild or muted for awhile but you had to be over the top excessive. I have no idea what it's like now but wouldn't risk my characters.

Felt a weird sort of compulsion this time around which is OoC for me since I never share these drama bits. I mostly stick to her video game livestreams which are actually fun to watch. In some ways she is a better gamer than I am because she does not stress out like I do when playing Black Myth Wukong or First Berseker Khazan.

Maybe sending a mug will be helpful to recover from "physical trauma"

Maybe also with free samples

That's ridiculous. I hate how soft these companies have become. Their policies are so ridiculously strict that people are afraid to pretty much say or do anything in game.

I just got banned from Overwatch 2 for an entire month becauase some guy typed "Nikos just used a slur, report him" in game chat. He was salty over me telling him what he could do better so we would have a chance at winning.

I probably had 70 hours on that shit game in the last two weeks alone and they banned me for an entire month because some moron told chat to report me and people who I wasn't even communicating with actually listened to him.

The one time I actually spoke up, I got banned. Reminds me of some other trash gaming forums that exist. Just thinking about how fucking fragile these people have become is infuriating.

Sorry for ranting.

I would have thought an appeal telling them to read the chat logs would have cleared that up quickly

To think I had actually even thought about reinstalling and playing again. That's not happening now lmfao. Time to close the book on that game for good.

I'd just enjoy Oblivion Remastered for what it is and unironically just replay Skyrim whether it's the base game or using one of the modpacks like Nolvus. I liked ESO but if every MMO is getting compromised with toxic positivity to where you have to conform to Uncanny Valley Syndrome I don't think they are worth investing in.

Being glad it happened to him is why it happens to other people that didn't do anything.

Grummz may post incessantly anything for attention, but his platform only exists as a reaction to dumber bullshit from people who actually were already (still are) making gaming worse.

This is your opinion, and I respect it. But it's also a what came first, "the chicken or the egg" type deal. I for one do NOT believe Grummz was a reaction to dumber stuff that was making gaming worse. I'm not sure what came first.

The internet was a mistake. It has elevated idiots, rotted our brains, and given too much power to those who shouldn't wield it.

@nikos' overwatch anecdote just reminds me how fucking toxic every online game has become. You literally cannot play with anyone but friends or hell breaks loose. Between cheaters, griefers, bad sports and thin skinned pussies, it's just too much.

What other industry is banning customers. This is insane

Sports stadiums ban fans who behave against their policies.
Ever been to a night club.......
HOAs will basically kick you out of your neighborhood after youve already moved in. (Home Owners Associations).
Convenience stores can ban you from all their locations.
Airlines can put people on no fly lists for arbitrary reasons.
Fast-Fashion brands are known to deactivate accounts.

Heck refusal of service isnt even uncommon and in most countries you dont even need to give a reason, countries with anti-discrimination laws might need you to prove its NOT discrimination.....but generally, banning people from your business in most if not all private businesses is totally legal and happens all the time.
Gamers just think they are special.

In fact any time you see this sign.
cXQpzC9O_ION2NTMORK_2023-07-01_1.jpeg

That establishment can ban you from entry.....and if they have the sign I can all but guarantee that someone has been banned from the place before.

Giving Grummz free and easy content is not the smartest idea.

Grummz, Vara Dark all these ragebait grifters cut from the same cloth, all the same shitty content.

All this content is built around a reaction to "wokeness", or at least the perception of it. Like most words on the internet the meaning of it becomes more vague over time, people argue over details, and/or see in it everything...but this all started in the 2010s. When online press outlets with search engine optimization, hiring writers in particular urban centers with increasingly progressive world views grew in relevance in the late 2000s, and venture capital incentives to companies that pushed DEI initiatives in the mid to late 2010s (same time as buzzwords like "inclusion", "micro-aggressions", "safe spaces" became a thing actual humans used unironically).

Game outlets started to have more incestuous relationships with devs/publishers to effect their coverage of games, showcased by Jeff Gertsmann who reviewed Kane & Lynch 2 fairly...but the publisher put pressure on Gamespot with advertising dollars and access, so he got unfairly fired (creating Giant Bomb). You started seeing hit-pieces written to criticize the morals of developers for increasing amounts of themes/tropes used, whine about dev company photos being too white/asian, and developers on social media publicly apologize for old games. You saw game journos increasingly get hired as writers, PR, and community positions to effect company culture directly.

All the whining about female character designs was happening back then too with outlets like Kotaku preening about Dragon's Crown's designs as "symptomatic of the video game industry's treatment of women", and it's only gotten dumber with trying to paint the director of Stellar Blade and its fans as incels. Fans can't make the games or have direct influence to be the cause of this discourse, they only respond to what's given...and Grummz only has views because he can farm the distrust of the audience. The audience would have more trust, if both the devs and paid critics didn't regularly shit on the people paying their bills.

I got the game for 10 quid over 10 years ago now, i played it twice and never went back, i hate the game lol, i blame their mmo store money maker as one of the main reasons we have had to wait way too long for a new Elder Scroll Single player game, so good for the bad pr lol.

Every game has the right to shape their ToS to suit whatever they feel is best for their players. If people lack the emotional control not to break it or lack the creativity to get around it, don't complain when you get the boot. Trolling people or just flat out being awful isn't a virtue.
It's teabagging in a video game. Trolling is part of online play.

Clearly they just wanted to get that dude out of their game, but of course content creators need clicks so here we go.

Yep, I've had the Mandela Effect. I've somehow landed in Bitchworld, a place where air can apparently fondle and sexually assault you. Idiocracy, come to life.

ESO is made by a separate team, ZOS.

Bethesda has been infested with woke.

Because they won't allow you celebrate like an 8 year old?

So what, Zenimax was the parent company of Bethesda, they call the shots, Altman and Trump's brother etc made the decision's, and they decided to stop making SP TES/Fallout's and focus on online mmo's like ESO and Fallout 76, we haven't had a SP game of either since. that was just an excuse.

People being too invested in digital platforms than real life is a problem that have no solution.
Just a product of progress. Though making teabagging bannable only encourages this problem, but they have to protect their business if people who pay them to play their product gets unhappy whenever someone teabags them.

Happens every time. Dude lives rent free in peoples heads lol

They probably banned him without knowing who he is.

…Because they were making Starfield

The fact that "celebrating like an 8 year old" is a ban worthy offense due to causing a physical harm to...whom exactly? People who defend this would enjoy animal farm I guess.

It's been banned for a while now. Here's a 2020 post from the ESO forums

Odds are that Grummz did this knowing this would be the outcome. And it worked. He's got another story to push hard now.
