Vara Dark: Grummz got a 72 hour ban in ESO for teabagging. ESO mods statement: "Teabagging is physical harm" Promises further bans even perms.

When has that ever happened?
Gamers certainly don't care about that stuff at large. Parts of gaming media does, but they are dying like flies due to their irrelevance. Some devs do, but are they actually the talented ones or just the activists?

I wonder if you people realize the threads claiming Ubisoft failed to consider the feelings of Japanese people when they made Yasuke a major protagonist in AC Shadows and when they made shrines destructible in the game are basically D&I related? 🤣

Gamers also seem to care about staff attrition rates in game companies. I can't count how many times I've heard "XYZ is only a shadow of their former selves, most of the people who made *insert beloved franchise* have left".

I think many DEI initiatives are flawed, and there's certainly a need for sensible rollback in certain areas. But the blanket demonization of the term is weird as hell, and it's probably because most people tend to focus on hiring alone.

I don't see the connection here, honestly.
Yasuke being a main character is dumb and obvious tokenism, but on its own nowhere near enough to actually harm a franchise like AC that is like crack to those who like it.

Also, stop with that "you people" shit. It shows you don't even take a second to think before you put someone into the "box of people I disagree with who are all the same".

I wish it was only hiring, but hiring certainly is the worst part of it.

The pure idea of DEI is that people are hired and rewarded based on irrelevant categories first and actually skill-related merit later. It breeds activism, which is the biggest harm to any project/company that isn't primarily political, such as gaming.
Nepotism is obviously bad, but tokenism is just as bad if not worse. It doesn't solve the issues it claims to solve, but instead replaces the racism/sexism it claims to tackle with inverted racism and sexism.
I really don't see any redeeming qualities to it - the demonization is well deserved.

So can kill people. Can't tea bag because… physical harm.

Hmmmmm…

Physical harm is a bannable offense in-game. Message received

In response, players to start engaging in combat using strongly worded letters.

One such letter included the threat of being banged on the head with the player's weapon. This role play, of course, is physical harm and they were hauled away on the ban train.

It's turtles all the way down.

It's stupid but also tea bagging is stupid and it's only 72 hours.

I'm just going to round this up to a big pile of stupid on all sides.

And as always if do t like something dont support it. The wallet is always the best place to make a statement.

Every game has the right to shape their ToS to suit whatever they feel is best for their players. If people lack the emotional control not to break it or lack the creativity to get around it, don't complain when you get the boot. Trolling people or just flat out being awful isn't a virtue.

You weren't bullied enough at school.

Where do you even get the idea that it is meant to be more offensive and demeaning? That's utter nonsense.
Video games are not real life - actions in them cannot be held to the same standards as actions outside of them.

Are you one of those people who think doing something in a game means you'll do it in real life? Because if not, your argumentation is based on complete fabrication, and if, I'm done talking to crazy people.
There's no possible way you think tea bagging someone isn't meant to be more offensive than sticking out your tongue at someone. Not even possible. Do you also think typing "fucking you" or <insert racist crap> doesn't matter because we're all online and anon too?

I know most people wouldn't do stuff like this face to face due to consequences. Everyone knows shit behavior festers in anonymity. The intent behind both are the same even if the setting and particular actions aren't.

You really need to start entering the world of grown ups where you have to learn to accept that the way you see things is not the way most people see things.
You'll get there, eventually. I believe in you.

Only HR and PR people and diplomats believe in this kind of coddling - you know, people whose entire living depends on putting up a facade of fake smiles and buttery words. Absolutely despicable.

Do you also think typing "fucking you" or <insert racist crap> doesn't matter because we're all online and anon too?
Oh, it does matter. But not the way you think.
People should learn to deal with opposition and some straight, honest words in any environment, including insults and other harshness. Non-coddling online environments help with that.
Or, we can do it your way and become a bunch of feebleminded weaklings incapable of dealing with anything because we cry for mother or mods when someone is mean to us online.
For a lot of people, it's already too late - but I have hope, yet.

The only exception I see here is a differentiation between kids and adults. You can't really expect kids to deal with stuff properly, so there I get the coddling to a degree (still wouldn't consider some person hammering the crouch key a bannable offense).
But within adult environment? Fuck, no.
ESO? 18+ or 16+ in most places, btw. Insult away and tea bag to high heavens.

I found out about this term after I played Borderlands 2 quest from Tina DLC and even after that, I barely felt the hole meaning of it. Today, I still don't care. I actually might laugh because it's funny and why? Those are virtual characters and ragdolls, in their own world. What it has to do with me?

C'mon man. T-Bagging is a gaming thing since saints row. Fucks sake...😅

Also, the kid above me in the video won't live long with his shit. 😅

Tea bagging sounds too innocuous in these indecent times. We should rename it to scrotum sexual harassment or something to reflect the harmful nature

You mean like when they give people yellow cards for excessive celebration in real life football games?

FFS, you guys are ridiculous. Punishing excessive or mocking celebrations is literally in FIFA's rulebook
I see you're a man of culture

Toxicity in mmo's is the best thing of the genre lmao. Tbaggin' isn't even toxic, it's the standard of every multiplayer game that allows you to crouch😁Bethesda is such a pussified company... chances of ES6 to be good is sub 10%.

Taken from Reddit. Activision is now banning players for Teabagging and diddying.

As retarded as banning for teabagging is, I can somewhat SEE the reason behind it, but what the fuck is the point of taunts if you can't use them after eliminating a player? Like, you're not gonna use that before you start shooting, they're either going to kill you or they don't see you so... huh?

Image is obviously fake. Stop believing everything you see on the internet. Don't believe this post either, go look it up yourselves.
