I don't care about people saying
"HUH YOU DON'T NEED TO BE R RATED TO DO A GOOD CARNAGE MOVIE YOU DUMBASS"

That clip was lame. I want to see carnage, blood, heads being eaten, fear and horror in the eyes of the victims.

Not a stupid tornado WTF.

I don't think I'll like this movie as much as I did the first. Disney's hands are in the pie and shit is looking stale. Also, I'm totally put off by fuckin' Woody Harrleson playing Carnage.
We still have the comics to fall back on, so it's not like this movie existing takes anything away from that fact.

Still... would have been a good one to see a proper Carnage screen adaptation.

I still can't believe this exists and is really made by Eminem, it's true garbage from the first movie.

The first movie was OKish it did get lost in it's own nonsense and turn to shit in the later half.

I'm still looking forward to this new one because Tom Hardy is always crazy and Harellson is very entertaining to watch too.

Eminem has some trash songs but this one of the worst lol

Who keeps writing that bit part character that sees a horrifying creature of violence and destruction walking around, and yells "Don't move!" without even shooting at them? Who would ever do that?

Carnage itself looks great, but this is the same low IQ writing that comic movies have had for far too long now.

I cringed so goddamn hard when I heard that song the first time

Yea, that tornado completely lost me. I only thought parts of the first movie were any good, mainly Venom interacting with Brock. But not having that Spider-Man backstory just kills any interest in Venom for me. Especially when it's a watered down PG-13 movie that makes Venom comedy relief and not the terrifying, conflicted creature he really is.

They still don't have actual reviews of the movie out, for a BIG BUDGET movie, that's a HUGE red flag. Tenfold more than when a big game doesn't do early reviews.

that hook is hilarious. veeenooom

I think most super hero movies are garbage with the exception of The Dark Knight, Joker with Joaquin Phoenix and the first Avengers movie. Everything else has been shit for me personally.

Disney has nothing to do with this movie though. Sony owns the movie rights to Spider-Man and all connecting characters meaning Disney is the one that has to ask for permission to use him in their movies.

I hate what sony did with the Venom character personally. I'm not exactly an expert, but shoudn't be one of the most creepy and gore comic? The fuck is that the lightheart tone of the movie and the lack of explicit violence?
Carnage and Venom are your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man characters. their violence was more implicit than graphic.

I don't really have any interest in any of this films to be honest but I would assume that this is an exclusive trailer in much the same way that all the other exclusive trailers are. Different ones go to different outlets and it seems that people on YouTube respond to that sort of thing which again means that the people who have those exclusive trailers will do what they can to push because them harder because views benefit them.
I assume that it's working in some way as companies keep releasing them and YouTube channels keep pushing them. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I caught that and laughed! XD

I think I read a post from M ManaByte
Stating how Sony has to make movies with a rating of PG or PG-13 in order to use their properties for film, specifically, Marvel.

M ManaByte
Would like some more information if you can spare the time.

The agreement (which came out with the Sony hack) states the movies have to be a maximum of PG13.

Sony has the movie rights and rights to TV shows longer than 45 minutes. Disney's animated Spider-Man shows on DisneyXD have nothing to do with Sony. Same thing with Spider-Man's appearance in What If, since that was under 45 minutes. But because that was Disney, Sony didn't allow Holland to voice the character in the episode.

Even though they have the movie rights, they still have rules they have to follow with the characters. They can't make a Spider-Man porn movie.

"Something wicked this way comes."
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jesus, good to know that the writing has not improved at all from the first film. And then he turns into a tornado?
Jesus this looks like a shit 90's comic film still.

No as in they all follow the outline of the hero's journey formula to the letter. And have other boxes they need to tick for each movie because it is such a moneymaker for them on many different levels/types of products. Here's an all right article about it (I'm sure there are more) around when Thor: ragnarok came out, still applies http://www.justinkownacki.com/why-every-marvel-movie-tells-same-story/

I have MAJOR issues with this article. I'll list his quotes and then I'll respond to each one.

- But the problem is, Marvel movies have stopped being must-see experiences. This is total subjective. He can't speak for everyone. The numbers show that he's wrong here though.
- these days, no Marvel movie actually serves a purpose other than to set up the next movie. I disagree here too. Now it's true that since it is a Cinematic universe that lots of the movies have plot points that lead to something else in a future movie, but to say they "serve" no other purpose but to set up the next movie is laughable to me.
- If you're watching a Marvel movie, here are some bets you can safely make:
  • The hero's arc will follow Joseph Campbell's 'hero's journey' almost word-for-word. I don't find this to be an issue at all as it's a great guide for great movie making
  • There will be an emotionally-distant antihero. Who would this be in GoTG, Civil War, and Black Panther?
  • The hero's mentor will almost always die. This didn't happen in GoTG, Black Panther, or Ant Man.
  • There will be a sassy, independent, bad-ass woman. This is just STUPID as all get out. It's like saying all action movies will have a strong man in it. And what does "independent" mean any way?
  • The hero will learn that s/he always had the power to solve Problem X all along. SO WHAT?! Is this one so bad?
  • The final boss battle will be anticlimactic as hell. Wrong again! Of course subjectivity and all, but I didn't feel this way at the end of Civil War at all. While funny, the battle at the end of Ant Man was great! And lets not talk about End Game.
And he has so many more points too. While I understand some of the other points (like he has issues with the serialization of the movies), I'd state that's one of the BEST things about the MCU. That things do roll over from one movie to the next. He doesn't like the fact that it feels like soap operas or TV shows in "Movie" format, but I LOVE THAT! And I think the proof is in the pudding that most people love it too.

So again, I don't think all Marvel movies are the same. They are similar, but they aren't the same movies just with different skins. That's just ridiculous to say. Sorry!

Hey I'm not saying the guy is completely objectively correct or that marvel movies are the "same" but they DO recycle many of the same beats and elements in every film - I just gave you one article you can do your own research into it. It's great that many people have been able to create something unique within the framework of marvel stuff but for me - due to the quantity, and the similarities of the basic trajectory of each movie and the serialization - I've gotten to a point where my level of caring is far lower. Do I have any fear Shang Chi will lose the final battle? No. Do I fear he is in any danger? No. Do I know roughly exactly how this movie will play out, yeah I do. First only the biggest marvel movies like Avengers will kill off someone important. And even then death really isn't permanent unless an actor is done with their contract. You can really feel the studio mapping out each film, which, look you get what you pay for it's just not that interesting after a while.

EDIT: and I want to qualify this by telling you - I do like marvel and am stoked there is an actual comic book universe on screen. This is like the golden age for them - it won't last forever but that's fine. I just think we shouldn't pretend they don't recycle a lot.

Who is this Justin guy and why does he matter when he has no idea what he is talking about?

B Balducci30 Your argument is that you don't care about Marvel films because Shang Chi was never going to die? Did you think Spider-Man was ever going to die in any of the Rami or Amazing films? Have you ever thought James Bond was going to die in one of his films? How about John McClane in the Die Hard films? Marty McFly in Back to the Future? Have you ever thought Inidana Jones would die? How about the women in Charlie's Angels, any possibility of them dying? Katniss in the Hunger games? Jason Bourne? Ethan Hunt?
It's a weak argument, the heroes are never expected to die in their films. Sure, heroes will get hurt or injured but you still know they'll never die. Same as the MCU movies, they get injured.
Even in horror films, once you know who the protagonist is, you know they won't die.

Also, who's the mentor that dies in Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Avengers, Iron Man 3, Dark World, Winter Soldier, GOTG, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Endgame, Far From Home and Black Widow?

Who's the anti-hero in Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Avengers, Iron Man 3, Winter Soldier, GOTG, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Civil War, Doctor Strange, GOTG2, Homecoming, Black Panther, Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Endgame, Far From Home and Black Widow?

The article is a jumping off point - it has valid points for sure. And yes there is always a possibility in stand alone films that the hero will die - it's rare but it certainly happens - especially in horror. See scream. Red guardian in black widow, bucky in civil war, I'm not gonna go through each movie you listed - like I said the point is marvel recycles basic plot points A LOT, and I LIKE MARVEL. But it's important to acknowledge they are big studio movies that do follow the heroes journey very closely with each film. The original statement I was refuting said marvel doesn't recycle their storylines - which is just false. It's totally fine that they do it but I can understand why some people get bored of it. And I do feel fatigue from it at points but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy them ultimately - you just know what you're getting.

EDIT: and isn't the entire plot of far from home surrounding the death of Peter's mentor iron man? Sorry I forget

I guess my main point is, many movies have foundations that are the same. But it's not like if you saw 3 Marvel movies, then you've seen them all. At least not in the MCU at least. And now with the TV shows they have even more space to spread their wings. Alot of the Marvel movies have themes. Like Ant-Man felt like a Heist movie, whereas Captain America: Civil War was a political thriller type movie.

Yes I like that they are able to put their own stamp on individual parts of it as well - they do certainly make the effort to cross genres and be unique within the framework that they have. And yes a lot of movies use the same framework - because it largely works. Believe me I love marvel, I grew up in the 90's on X-men. I'm stoked we're living in a time where these films are possible and that they can make them so close to the source material. I do understand why people have issues with them though, there are times when I'm watching and I'm just like "why did they make them put that in there this would've been fine without it", just points where I can see some creativity was stifled in order to fit in the MCU. Like wandavision started off so unique and kinda became more of a typical MCU thing by the end, Loki I felt could've benefitted from being able to tell a truly standalone story - Shang chi had this awesome Hong Kong cinema spin on everything but it felt a bit hampered by the structure. It's a nitpick for me. I still love them, and am glad they exist and are so popular. They do expose the general population to tastes of different genres they maybe wouldn't initially check out without that wrapping - so to me it's a better deal than most pop culture things. Certainly could be worse.

Have you ever thought James Bond was going to die in one of his films?

Well the new one is literally titled No Time to Die AND it's Daniel Craig's final Bond movie.
