[VGC] Neil Druckmann says new Naughty Dog title could ‘redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming’

I actually dig the music until they ripped off GOTG which reminded of Concord and then the dots connected.
Intergalatic is still way more retrofuturist. Also the actual game is completely different (open-world action-adventure vs competitive hero shooter)

This is interesting.

Such a shame the woke community doesn't see the game for what it is.

There are thousands of Akira references everywhere, same with GiTS, I don't see anything more than
rip-offs from the good old memberberries, like not-Akira jacket, not-Cowboy Bebop ship and instrumentals, not-SW light saber and so on, nothing is redefined there, tho tbf it was just a CGI trailer

I don’t understand what you’re saying here, if I’m honest.

I am actually excited for this.

I like the graphics and the atmosphere. I just hope it’s not another startfield type of games . I want it to have a proper story and not open world garbage in space by visiting useless planets

This guy is absolutely obsessed with normies who are barely into games. That’s who he’s going to make games for. A complete 180 from ND of yore. They were the gamer’s game.
Crash Bandicoot was a “gamer’s game”? Crash Bandicoot has aged like a mason jar full of yeast and dogshit. And Jak and Daxter is hardly a lauded property, either.

I don’t know how you’re defining “normie” and “gamer”, but by your definition I guess I must be a normie, because I absolutely believe that ND have steadily increased their game development skills—and ultimately their releases—over the last decade or so.

When you consider the era those games launched in, we barely had Metal Gear or RE to transcend us beyond mascot platformers. Jak didn’t have to go as hard as it did if they just wanted moms to grab it off an end cap. I remember the Game Informer prerelease articles. It was very much in the pocket.

That’s totally fair. I didn’t play Jak until much later. Maybe it deserves another look.

you just know that if you look up the word pretentious, there's a photo of him next to it...

let me guess, just like God of War, it doesn't have a "game script" but a "real script"

fuck off!

Your stranded on the planet so I doubt it will be anything like Starfield (thankfully)

Well, at first glance, I didn’t see anything groundbreaking or redefining. Obviously, we only got a cinematic, but I’m really worried if Naughty Dog might face their first flop because it didn’t feel all that exciting. So, I’m curious about what Intergalactic might actually have that’s special, and the expectations are sky-high given ND’s track record.

We've not seen much at all yet, but as with all ND titles it will be down to the storyline and experience. The expected age rating of 17+ suggests the trailer has shown us nothing really.

Imo, the hate of a female mc is being gay or woke behavior.

Like, how is playing and customizing a male character not considered gay by woke standards?

All this talk about woke is so stupid.
These people pushing this woke agenda are no different than the people pushing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Look at GTA6 for example.
It's a game based on real life, of course it would have some form of diversity.
How is GTA6 woke because of that?
It's based on real life.
