What can you say, feel for the people caught in the crossfire. What a shitty situation. And there's no way I'm clicking.

WTF with the gif????????????

Sometimes defense force for everything in gaf is cute, but people actually defending these horrible actions done by the regime, and deflecting the issue into Iraq and other nations, is truly saddening. WTF is wrong with the Assad´s defense force here on gaf?
You want to talk about Iraq and other nations, make a damn thread, and stop deflecting and showing horrible gifs in this one.

Assad sucks; I hope you didn't lump me in with that. My point of going in and attacking him while others have been ignored bothers me.

Links? I searched on Youtube and I didn't see any obvious use of incendiary ammunitions on inhabited zones. Don't you think there would be more casualty reports if that type of weapons were used on civilians on a regular basis?
Plus are we to believe the place shown in the report, is the place the bomb exploded? The place is barely destroyed or burnt.

Here's one that turned up immediately. There's dozens and dozens of videos exactly the same as this. You could easily find them if you actually wanted to; they're not exactly hidden or anything http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxV8Xae2ERQ

I don't think anyone is defending that piece of shit Assad, they just preemptively argue while pointing out USA's hypocrisy because they expect people to use it as an excuse for an interventionist war.

no way I'm clicking that, this is too horrific and I have a young daughter, just crazy, who drops napalm into a group of children

So many cowards and tin foil hat theories.

Yeh especially when Confidential Cables from WikiLeaks confirm it.

Must be the Evil Julian Assange who made this all up years ago because he knew he could assist people like me in forum crusades, mainstream media sure as hell isn't touching the Gulf states with any sort of criticism.

Get back to me when you have first hand experience in a middle eastern conflict. Until then enjoy your access to fresh water and the safety of not being bombed.

OOOOOPS big Mistake, I was in Lebanon in the summer of 2006.

Or doesn't it count when an Imperialist Colony does the bombing?

Dropping a bomb where lots of people are gathered is common. As jets are very high up when they attack.

It does not excuse them though. It's despicable.

Either they intentionally bombed the school or it was a completely off target. I'm not quite convinced the Assad regime would indiscriminately bomb a playground just to make a political point or something, last thing they want is international aid to assist the rebels and for US to come down on them. It is also possible the rebels/terrorists were using the school as a sort of human shield, putting the people at risk. Sad either way.

http://www.hrw.org/news/2012/12/12/syria-incendiary-weapons-used-populated-areas

Of course HRW are probably stooges for US and UK intelligence too right Fabrik

Thanks for the links. There's no mention of huge civilian injuries in this report. Most of the zones seems to be desolated suburbs or abandoned areas. It's pretty clear the planes are trying to do "surgical" strikes to avoid unnecessary casualties, same as the NATO was doing supposedly in Irak. A civil war is ugly.
Still we have no reason to intervene in order to help the rebels. Both sides are bad.

And yet you still think the US wages wars for anything other than profit and the joke of it all is that the profit isn't even for the American people.

Actually, the joke of it is that years of bad foreign policy has produced people like you.

Eh, there are a couple here that are defending Assad's crusade against the evil rebels.

Yea because the war in Iraq/Afanistan has really paid off!

The Harbingers of death always profit. Coincidence I guess.

What matters is where bombs are dropped. The first video doesn't show where they landed. In the second, it landed on a empty area. There's no video of massive civilian destruction. The Syrian army is clearly not firing blindly and relentlessly.

I'm sure the cluster bomblets dropped from a thousand feet up by a moving aircraft missed the residential buildings by metres on purpose.

Companies profiting = giant elaborate conspiracy.

Those headaches I occasionally get must be a result of Big Advil.

Evil fucks.

You can't be that naive. Do you really believe that the war profiteers have nothing to do with these wars? Have you even read anything in your life about Cheney?

Speaking of media spreading misinformation:

BBC Monitoring reports that Syrian TV has misquoted Labour leader Ed Miliband as saying the chemical attack near Damascus was the work of rebels. Government satellite news channel Al-Ikhbariyah al-Suriyah quoted Miliband as saying that he "fully understands" that it was "armed groups" (the usual government term for rebels) that used chemical weapons in the Ghouta.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/23896617

Those MI6 agents trying to smear honorable and just Syrian State TV!!!111!

I think war profiteers have positioned themselves to make a lot of money off an awful thing. I DON'T believe that wars are intentionally started simply to make these companies profit.

Now just humor me, what would happen to them if there were no wars for their clients to get involved in?

They'd go into door to door vacuum cleaning sales obviously.

We start wars for many stupid reasons, but in many ocasions corporations and politicians invested in said corporations are usually among the ones (if not the ones) pushing the hardest for them.

No one is arguing that there are companies who profit from war. But to suggest that something like Iraq was started with the sole purpose of giving Haliburton profit is silly.

Yes just like the prison industrial complex has nothing to do with the US becoming a prison country. It was pure coincidence Cheney the former CEO of Halliburton was hellbent on attacking Iraq, it is also a coincidence that the Penagon budget is so incredibly bloated. I'm sure the war profiteers have nothing to do with all that, they're just in a good position...

People are dying in horrible ways all over the globe. Syria sucks, no doubt, but selectively picking where we take action is not a good idea.

I'm against intervention in Syria, but this is stupid. If you can't intervene everywhere, you can intervene nowhere? Utter rubbish.

Who said sole purpose?

The biggest advocates for Western intervention in Syria is Saudi Arabia, Qatar and as 3rd probably Turkey after they realized their operation wasn't going to cut it, they don't even have an arms industry, but it is an added incentive for the US economy to take another grab out of the national debt jar.

Are people actually doubting that companies such as Halliburton shower in bajillions during invasions and tragedies, such as the case of Iraq and Afghanistan? Or that most politicians have very real connections to said corporations?

This is a "controversy" now? It's a "conspiracy theory"? God damn it.

As for the topic of the post, I can't even find something to say, I can't imagine the pain and horror of having to experience this happening to your loved ones.

Whether you believe that Assad is Satan and responsible for everything, or that the West is supporting foreign jihadist butchers for various geopolitical gains, or both, one can only hope for a quick end to the bloodshed and the most horrible of punishments for anyone responsible (I said wish, not holding my breath...).

Read what people are telling you. There isn't a sole reason, there's a multitude of reasons most of them being corporate and -believe it or not- banking interests.

Now that you mention it:
Somalia famine 'killed 260,000 people' from 2010 to 2012

Where was the Sunni outrage there?

A fraction of the Billions spent on weapons to conquer a country could have saved 260k Muslims.

WikiLeaks cable: AU SUMMIT: A/S CARSON'S MEETING WITH SOMALI PRESIDENT SHEIKH SHARIF

NNEbzzS.jpg

So the people supporting the Jihadists have malicious intentions and don't care for preserving human life but they themselves aren't? is that the argument the Islamist apologists are pushing?

War against a foreign country only happens when the moneyed classes think they are going to profit from it.
— George Orwell

And the kind of war does not matter, Jihad, Responsibility to Protect, Humanitarian Intervention, or Imperialist Regime change.
Look dead children in somalia. EVERYONE DO NOTHING.

Sorry dude. But your boy Assad's days are numbered and no amount of distractions are going to help.

Then we agree. Companies profit from war and some politicians are in the pocket of those companies. I'm not disputing that.

How about this one ? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a70_1360150672

Relentless enough or not ? Or wait, that little girl is positioned suspiciously near to where the shell hit! False Flag!!!

Can we get seal team 6 to go extract Assad and let him go swimming with OBL now, please?

I'm against intervention in Syria, but this is stupid. If you can't intervene everywhere, you can intervene nowhere? Utter rubbish.

It would be great if we had a truly moral and just world leadership or collective superpower to intervene when bad leaders do bad things, and to intervene solely for that reason. This is sadly not the reality of the world we live in, though politicians still lie and try and make it seem as if this is the case.

The best that you can hope for is that occasionally the interests of those in power favour some kind of intervention that might minimize the suffering of whoever might be involved. We don't have that with Syria.

Residential buildings probably occupied by armed rebels. The civilians have or should have evacuated. Anyway I don't support any camp. I'm just against the use of propaganda to justify an intervention to help the rebels. Why no western media show atrocities committed by the rebels? Why is it so unilaterally one-sided? Why do we want to help extremists?

The german press is pro assad and reports weekly about the latest victims of the rebels.

Where is the problem? - It`s terrible but some guys here abuse this kids for her war drums.

None of this kids wants more dead people, they want a diplomatic solution.

Israel used white phosphorus in gaza, attack israel.
A civil war is awful but an attack is no solution.
It is scandalous to misuse these children for his cause.

Go attack some more Titans.

Plenty of western media shows the atrocities of the rebels

The BBC even found and interviewed the guy who ate the hearts of dead Syrian soldiers to ask him just what the fuck he thought he was doing.

EDIT: and the concept that you are fighting against propaganda is absolutely ridiculous considering the propagandist way you have behaved in this thread
