WTF with the gif????????????

Sometimes defense force for everything in gaf is cute, but people actually defending these horrible actions done by the regime, and deflecting the issue into Iraq and other nations, is truly saddening. WTF is wrong with the Assad´s defense force here on gaf?
You want to talk about Iraq and other nations, make a damn thread, and stop deflecting and showing horrible gifs in this one.

It's not so much defending Assad, you can find horrific videos of crimes committed from both sides.Yeah, the rebels , those aren't a good willed bunch that's for sure.

War is nasty, when you fight using guerrilla tactics, it makes it nastier.

I'm from the opinion that countries such as Syria need stability, even if that means "oppressive" regimes such as the one attributed to Assad are prone to exist.
Say the rebels attain power, you can bet in a year, tops, they will be engaging in warfare again. See Egypt for reference.

Plenty of western media shows the atrocities of the rebels

The BBC even found and interviewed the guy who ate the hearts of dead Syrian soldiers to ask him just what the fuck he thought he was doing.

Not in France. Why do we want to help them again?

Yeah those restive A-rabs need a strongman to keep 'em in line.

Using a prior fault to absolve a later fault is one of the most absurd tactics in rhetoric. Getting stuck on an issue like that causes the tit for tat stupidity that humans kill each other for.

French TV airs the truth when they incompetently invite the wrong guest.

France's incentive for Syria is very similar to Qatar and Turkey, they want a gas pipeline to supply Europe and break the monopoly of Gazprom.

Germany on the other hand prefers to rely on Putin than some Wahhabi Emir.

That video is also good for you, stuck in your good Islamist Arab, bad Nationalist Arab perspective.

Al Jazeera had it right.

In this age post Iraq, post-yellowcake and post phantom-WMDs, no one can go to war without 100% concrete proof. As long as you can maintain doubt of who is doing what and who you're helping, you can't be sure of what is going on, so you can do nothing.

Or so Assad thinks.

I don't want to watch it. Barbaric animals. Who authorises this?

I wish the UN could organise some sort of military presence and protect these kids.

The UN cannot do anything because Assad's ally Russia will veto even a written statement condemning him, let alone anything meaningful.

Sorry but I don't know the context of this video. Who is manifesting? Who is firing?

Did you watch the video ?

FSA demonstration. Shell from an unknown position (!MAYBE FSA MAN!) hit in the middle of said demonstration.

EDIT:

Yeah those damn A-rabs doesn't deserve freedom. All they do is fight they need a dictator to keep them in short leash!

Pretty hard to argue that Al-Qaeda somehow acquired a jet.

People are too predictable, they attach an entire narrative to a single hearsay claim.

Whenever Western audiences see destroyed buildings and cities reduced to rubble most of you automatically leap to the conclusion, “well that's the army killings its own people because al-Qaeda doesn't have an airforce (yet)”

Except of course that entire apartment blocks get taken out by these freedom fighters for the sake of removing cover for checkpoints they have difficulty capturing....

EDIT: and the concept that you are fighting against propaganda is absolutely ridiculous considering the propagandist way you have behaved in this thread

I just read this, pretty messed up.This part didn't sound good too.

Finally, he adds: "If we don't get help, a no-fly zone, heavy weapons, we will do worse [than I did]. You've seen nothing yet."

As if the allegations of using sarin gas wasn't enough you'd think the government would refrain from abusing such methods in a touchy situation like this. I can't believe people swallow this up.

How do you get 100% proof of anything during a civil war? Assad would have to go on TV and admit he's doing it at this point.

Can anyone 100% confirm that the FSA is run by Al Qaeda the way you guys keep claiming? Last I heard they killed one of the FSA commanders.

I'm going to read this whole thread but I wanted to first say this.

You're in a country that has been tearing itself apart for around two years now. What's the death toll? Something like 100,000 or so?

And you are still sending your children to school? What?

So you're comparing a rebel that mutilated a uniformed Syrian soldier's dead body with an indiscriminate napalm attack on a preschool?

That word again. I don't think it means what you think it means. Was Hitler a beetle? Was Goebbels a kangaroo? I don't think the nurse reported anything non-human at Stalin's birth and I don't think Kim Jong-un can lick his dick clean either.

It may make you feel uncomfortable but it's definitely human beings who did this, of the same species we belong to. Yes, we're capable of doing this, too. Precisely because we're not animals.
Nail on the head. There's no point in being ignorant of the latent cruelty every single person alive is capable of performing if circumstances permitted.

And incidentally, it'll keep on like this until this species either evolves or dies. Life isn't pretty.

This is horrible. This whole situation is horrible. At the same time, little good seems to come from the U.S. acting like the world police. By and large, we should stop intervening in others' affairs.

But question: How far should our non-intervention stance go? What is okay? Is sending medicine to places okay? Building clean water facilities? Or are we only allowed to intervene when the atrocities are not manmade? Disease, hunger, natural disasters...?

I'm really curious. Because though I agree with non-intervention, it seems odd that the moment humans are responsible for the deaths of others that it all becomes off-limits.

Because that's what you're essentially saying when you say that we should wait for the UN. China, Russia, the U.S., etc. - we all have our interests and they never seem to run the same direction. So, what does America's role look like? Or does it have one?

People want to believe what BBC and CNN tell them without any thought. Control the media, control the perception of people's lives.

At this point, I don't think Obama wants to do anything. Certainly not alone. He backed himself into a corner with that redline comment, and it's the only reason he's even considering it. Now, if the UN signed off on a multinational intervention effecting regime change, like in Libya, we'd be all over that. But that's not going to happen as long as Russia and China are cock blocking the security council.

So you're comparing a rebel that mutilated a uniformed Syrian soldier's dead body with an indiscriminate napalm attack on a preschool?

People are so far above this on their non-exploding ivory towers that comparing his "barbarity" towards a dead enemy with the deliberate murder of innocent children. It's all about their own offense.

It does. This is just the desperation of the FSA stirring shit to put pressure on the west to bring military intervention. Did you see the Syrian jet? Exactly.

Im in New York so no, i didnt see any Syrian Jets

But according to people that were there, there was, and according to experienced and reputable journalist who came after the fact, a bomb was dropped and the injuries suffered by the people there were consistent with certain things...

I love how people thing a fractured Syrian Rebel group are all of the sudden skilled Hollywood Special FX creators lol... unbelievable.

I know Alex Jones isn't a popular name around here but anyone with a brain or two eyes should honestly read the latest articles on his site claiming the rebels took responsibility for the chemical attacks.

Not sure if this has been posted. It's footage of that school supposedly being used by "terrorists", loaded with ammo, guns and explosives, complete with a hand dug underground tunnel and rooms where they sleep and stock supplies.

It's footage from Syrian State TV (I think) and while I do think the Syrian Government can load up weapons and shit in there to make it look bad, seeing how recent the event is, it would have taken them a long time to "plant" that tunnel there. Especially how big it is.

What if I told you that your experienced and reputable journalists were fabricating these stories and that the FSA are little more than Hollywood Special FX creators. I'm from there and I know where the stakes are. These rebels are paid in cheques with weapons and ammunition continuously funneled from neighboring countries with the US and the collaboration of the west green-lighting and orchestrating the whole thing, so please don't tell me otherwise.

Deliberate?

Yes, if you knowingly fire into civilian areas, and have been doing so with the deaths of innocents, and you continue to do so, I think 'deliberate' fits. It's an acceptable loss to you

Unlike you of course, sitting on your tower of oh shit I have no reading comprehension

oh zing me again BigDes. Actually I am different.

I'll eat a man's heart myself.

I don't know how much you know about Hollywood Special FX creators (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it.

Yet the bbc managed to not see any of that. I would rather go with the bbc than the mouthpiece for Assad.

Both you and Rustynail massively misinterpreted what I was saying and you thought fit to throw in an insult as well.
