Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

I'm so curious about what games will be coming courtesy of PS+ to Vita in the coming months. I'm pretty happy with this month because I held off on Origins, felt this coming and I've never played GTA on a portable before. It should be some amount of fun I'm sure.
Anybody want to take a guess at what may be coming next? Or what the big 3 games are that are gonna be rotated in in November?

For those I would have to say: Sly Cooper, LittleBigPlanet and Assassin's Creed

I find Soul Sacrifice, Little Big Plannet and Sly Cooper have a fairly chance to be the yearly PS+ Vita games. LBP is been out for more than a year, and SS is the kind of game that sells like shit the forth week since its release. Or even the PlayStation All Third-Party Stars Nobody Cares: Battle Royal. AssCreed is a possibility, but I find quite weird having a third-party game in the IGC for such a long time (even though XCOM is for PS3).

Edit: I have to recommend some games, right? I've no played a lot, but:

1.- Buy PS+!
2.- Buy Persona 4! and Persona 3 Portable! (Even if Toto hates it)
3.- Download Killzone Mercenary Beta, and buy the game when its out!
4.- And buy me the games above. I don't have money T.T

Hey guys, anyone play Dokuro or the new Sly Cooper on Vita? Looking for more stuff to get on PSN right now, with my Vita arriving later this week.
Dokuro was free on ps+ and i got the platinum. It was ok, nothing great. There are plenty of games on psn better than it. Unless its real cheap try something else. If you dont already pick up ps+ you will get plenty to play. If not other good download only games i would reccomend are Mutant blobs attack and super stardust delta.

Sly 4 is a good game with some minor problems. The framerate is janky in 2 hubworlds (missions are ok most of the time) and stuff like camera controls or voice acting are not really AAA stuff.

Couldn't get into Dokuro although I thought I would love it. It was just boring, gameplay, presentation and even the music (because it always looped one song from what I have played).

Also the loading screens on Sly 4, they're really long. Like 20-30secs long.

Just looked up some Spelunky info/secrets and I can't believe how much more there is to see in the game. It all sounds incredibly difficult too, I can barely get to
Olmec
on a normal run most of the time. Guess this game's going to last a pretty long time.

Killzone manga(why..)

Don't bother, the frame rate on the PSN uploads are completely messed up.

Isn't it jacked up so that you can't really use the right analog for camera too? I seem to remember discussions about it previously where the control schemes force you to hold a button then use <whatever> to move the camera... meaning you can't really use the 2nd analog for camera control, right?

Just got the Ankh and used it in Spelunky. Promptly died on 3-3. :\

--

Just got Perfect on zone 25 in Velocity Ultra. Feels good, man.

Cyborg, I need a hand sometime killing that bastard 10* Cat Sith in SS. Think we can do that one in addition to the new DLC next time we group up?

A manga about a shooting game? Wow, it's weird. I suppose they are trying to market Killzone or something. But the magazine they have chosen is not huge for what i've read. Obviously Sony is not going to pay Shonen Jump to release the series, but they could go a little higher. CoD sells like 500k in Japan, right? There is people willing to buy FPSs.

can you imagine if we had LittleBig Hub right from the start (rather than PlayStation Home) and Sackboys as our avatars, we could have getting various hats/costumes from these indie games to use.

Imagine those Stealth Inc goggles on Sackboy

The cover wasn't so hot :\

Ya, they could promote Both Mercenary and shadow fall but you know Sony...

Spelunky. Addiction. Can't talk. Must. Save. More. Damsels.

Yeah it's way too damn good. I am 74 hours into Persona 4 going after the true ending, but I can't play anything other than Spelunky all of a sudden. The slowdowns and leaderboard not updating when you use standby are two problems that are slowly starting to piss me off, though.

I ended up just turning off the wifi while playing Spelunky since it reduces the save time after dying to like half a second and you can restart instantly. Care less about leaderboards than actually beating the game since no one's going to be looking at it anyways.

The gimped version of Rayman Legends gets a demo on the Vita this week.

I think it saves to the cloud in that time as well.

this thread is moving pretty fast (:

and all is good.

we need to tweet @giocorsi more.
and dang, I really Shahid could post here once in awhile.
he and his team brought so many awesome games to the Vita!
I don't care if it is indie, games are games - all that matters is whether they are fun or not :P

we need more japanese indies!

is there any possibility of it coming through a patch or DLC? I understand that it wouldn't be on there if space was an issue (which it could be, considering the size of the game compared to Origins).

If it comes as DLC, then maybe I will purchase it.
But for now I don't need a demo, I won't be buying an incomplete copy of a game.
Steam sale is where Legends is currently slotted until the missing content is addressed.

Yeah I really hope we get a statement about Rayman Legends tomorrow. It was discovered over this weekend and all the journos are at PAX so I'm not surprised that there's been no reporting on it or statements on it.

As I said in the thread about the missing content though, I'd say if we don't know by launch day that they're putting out the invasion levels as a patch/DLC it's probably not going to happen. They probably wouldn't officially put it out with that content missing without addressing it if that content was actually still coming.

And if you're right, then they're sending the Vita version to die.

I think Legends Vita was an afterthought for Ubi (and possibly rushed to hell and that why they cut things from it) it was the last version to get announced after all.

still announced it would have all content. why even bother after giving us origins which is really good. and then they've been so underhanded about it. just come out and say we're getting a gimped version of the game. people expect it to have everything and it's a pretty bad bait and switch to announce a version that will have all content and then turns out it's missing 28 levels.

Yeah. Like if they had just said from the beginning that it would be missing the invasion levels that would have been fine. Stupid in another way, but not deceptive. Instead me and some people in the Rayman Legends thread + this thread had to do some detective work to even find out that there was content missing. We were very close to not knowing that there was even missing content until it launched and people had already spent their money.

And even so I can guarentee that there's going to be people who didn't see my PSA thread about it coming into this thread and the Rayman thread on tuesday night and going "the hell, why is this missing levels?" It's pretty gross of Ubi to do that.

Of course, it's the Vita version, so this whole thing will probably get little to no press at all.

Nice! I'm getting it anyway, but still cool that it gets a demo. SO excited to play it.

Not the PS3 version:

Pretty sure that's wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. Sizes are sometimes wrong on the PS Store listings.

What are the invasion levels?

They are time-trial based stages based on the some of the main levels that take 40-60 seconds each. They require you to run through as fast as possible, and they have leaderboards for each.

Great new thread, thanks Noi! This has become my favorite place on NeoGAF.

Any news from Vanillaware regarding the Muramasa Rebirth DLC? They better be working on it!

Oh okay. I thought it was significant original content that was cut from the Vita version. Just time trials of the main levels doesn't seem too bad. Still, it's a shitty situation.

Nah, still includes the full campaign, the Back to Origins levels, and the challenge mode, so it still has a good 80-90% of the content, and we still need to wait until the release to make sure it doesn't include those invasion stages via a day one patch or something.

Time trails aren't quite what they are. They're time trials like levels, but they are time trials that remix the levels with new enemies/traps/obstacles/patterns. They're also the most challenging content in the game, which as a whole is actually easier than Origins. So the Vita version missing out on the most challenging content is a shame.

Its my bday vitagaf got enough psn cards for killzoneand rayman, also on another note im drunk
Happy birthday Mauaus! I will do a celebratory intoxication for you!

Also, over 350 posts in a day! This board seems to be moving quick. Must be that new thread smell, it drives everyone bonkers.

Also also, huzzah on my first wall of fame! Even though I'm tied for last, to me, it gives me quite the fuzzy feelin deep down somewhere.

Lastly, Spelunky is one heck of a game, causing so much joy and rage. The game permeates to my inner child, as it's music just scres hints of Castlevania and Blaster Master to me. The music in Spelunky is almost one of my favorite parts. It's so amazing too, how you will clear the first few levels so well, only to mis time a jump, then you collide with an enemy, sending you flying, and before you know it boom 3-5 lives are gone. Just GONE, after several immaculate levels. But then what happens? You hit square, all to eager to have it happen yet again. So much fun.
