Oy, jesus. My intention wasn't to scam anyone. It was simply to pick up the pace a bit, make things clearer, and state the instructions.

Yeesh.

You forgot "get my five referrals and my iPod."

Now with an official blessing we can get down to buisness!! :) How can we do this right, someone has to track what's what. I need a guideline and stats people ASAP :)

Not quite a blessing, I just really can't think straight at the moment. Typing coherently is taking a bit of effort. :|

Uhh, of course. What is the point of this thread? To get referrals and ipods/monitors. I don't see how you are misconstruing my thread as some selfish plan.

"faster than everybody else."

Implied, but whatever.

Because you impatiently started a seperate line because you didn't like that you didn't follow his instructions and were thus much farther back in the line?

What I mean is, can they just sign up for an offer and be done with it, or do they have to sign up for the offer AND have eight people do it too for it to work for me?

They've only got to sign up for the offer for you to get it.

That is the point of the thread, but there is a logical order. Just because it doesn't fit your schedule does not mean you can start your own thread and jump anyone/everyone. It just doesn't work that way, you should stop trying to defend your actions. Like I said, this isn't the type of thing that happens in two hours for everyone, just be patient. The more successful this thread is, the better chance we all have to get ipods/flatscreens.

The more chaos/new threads/separate conga lines/unsolicited pms/ the bigger chance only one or two people get the stuff.

Maybe we should wait until you guys take a vote on this or something, don't want to violate TOS without knowing, maybe it's ok for this sort of thing if it's organized like this...although it might open the flood gates...who knows, all i know i'm always up for free stuff...the less work the better but free is always good.

That's where friends/family/work/school people come into it. If you can convince people to sign up under your link without expecting anything (cause it's free), it all of a sudden becomes a lot easier to achieve your end goal.

The conga line, people jump in cause they want the free stuff too, not just to be a nice guy. The more 'nice guy' people you can get, the less people you need from the conga line, so it helps everyone out.

I really think the only replies until the dust settles is a bump...you guys want to argue...PM, AIM, Yahoo...pick your poison.

Ugh, just drop it.

I'm not angry at you, I was just trying to make things more orderly... Don't accuse me of being a scam artist.

Gonna retract my scam artist thing. I didn't catch the line about the next person handling all the PMing. Sorry about that.

But I don't think the best thing for this is for one person to take the initiative and start a line when someone else has already done so. It'll get too disorderly and ultimately ruin this.

I'm done arguing. Sorry for spamming up the thread like that.

you signed up without a referral link?

or did I misunderstand you?

One bid on eBay is all you need if you were referred by someone. If not and you already signed up without being referred by anyone, you're pretty much out of this conga line unless you can figure out how to sign up again using a diff name/address.

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
That would be against their terms of service and they'll put your account on hold since you can't have more than two accounts with the same address

I'm thinking the best option for an address change would be to find a way to change the formatting of your address.

Very easy if you live in an apartment, say you wrote as your address:

123 Fake Street, Apartment C

Sign up for a new account instead as:

123-C Fake Street.

Not sure if it'll work out though.

Or use your neighbor's address with your name/name of somebody who lives with you, and when the package comes to their house they will bring it to you :p

I would participate but it looks like there's already 20 people ahead of me. Which means that another 80-90 people will have to sign up just to get those guys taken care of....and I don't think that is going to happen. Ahhhh, the deceptive simplicity of the pyramid scheme...

Is it possible to sign up a bunch of fake address accounts just for the sake of getting someone else an iPod? You would never intend to use the account to get any free merchandise (since the address is incorrect), but it would still count for a friend...

I'm actually sending it to my sister. Does the ebay email address you register under have to be the same as your Freeipods.com registration address? What about home address for ebay?

this thread sucks :/ I think the Over under on people that will get the IPOD from this thread only is 3

I think a lot of people will be able to find 2-3 referrals through friends and the such, so we shouldn't need quite as many people in this thread as it may seem.

I got my five, I hope they come through. So, will any XP or Win2000 machine see the ipod as a storage device? And can I load any mp3 on it?

Does the email address/home address/name you use to sign up for FreeIpods.com have to be the same as those you use to sign up for the promotional Ebay account?

OK, here is the latest on what's going on. The underlined name is who we're currently getting referrals for (me, in this case). B'z-chan has not signed up for either (though he said he was interested in both), so we're waiting on him as he was first in line. I'm in the process of sending out the links to the next four people who wanted to do the flatscreen one (as you can tell by the blank spaces in the list). If B'z-chan doesn't sign up in a couple days, I guess we'll have to skip him and keep moving on.

FLATSCREEN

1) B'z-chan | ?? | ??
2) Boogie9IGN | JOINED | NOT COMPLETED
3) Archaix | JOINED | NOT COMPLETED
4) Mr Pockets | JOINED | NOT COMPLETED
5)

1) B'z-chan | ?? | ??
2) Archaix | JOINED | NOT COMPLETED
3) Bort | JOINED | NOT COMPLETED
4) Mr Pockets | JOINED | NOT COMPLETED
5) Bruce Vilanch | NOT JOINED | NOT COMPLETED

I'll give you an example of how this works by using names on this list. I (Mason) need 5 referrals for the iPod. So I sent my referral link to 5 people, including Archaix, who clicked on it and signed up for an account on freeipods.com. When he signed up, it gave him several choices of offers he wanted to participate in, because in order to get an ipod, you have to complete one offer and get 5 referrals.

I believe he chose the ebay offer, which is what most people choose because it does not require a credit card. If you choose the ebay option, it takes you to ebay where you must sign up for a new account. If you don't want to use a credit card, it will ask for an email address that is NOT from a free account (like Hotmail or Yahoo) in place of a credit card. After you get your new ebay account, you have to go find an item and bid on it and become the high bidder. Nobody is exactly sure how long you have to be the high bidder for, but we do know that you cannot place a bid and instantly be outbid by another person's proxy. You have to hold the high bid for at least a few minutes if not an hour or two.

So, for example, you could find a PS2 that was just listed and is at $1. Bid $15 and you'll hold the high bid for a while until someone comes along and bids higher (because a PS2 obviously isn't going to go for $15. After 1-3 days, you'll get credit for doing this ebay offer in your account at freeipods.com.

At that point, in my (Mason's) account, it will say that that Archaix has completed an offer. After four more people complete an offer, I will have five referrals. Since I already completed an offer because I signed up using someone else's referral link, I will then be able to choose the iPod I want and have it shipped to me.

Then, since B'z-chan is next on the list of people who signed up, I will make a post saying that I have the referrals I need and B'z-chan will send his referral link to the next five people who said they wanted to participate in this thread so he can get the referrals he needs. And it continues down until we either run out of people or everyone has an iPod/flat screen.

I will make sure to keep everyone updated on exactly who has what referrals and who is next in the list. For the iPod, it goes: Mason, B'z-chan, Archaix, Bort, Mr Pockets, Bruce Vilanch. For the flatscreen, it goes: Mason, B'z-chan, Boogie9IGN, Archaix, Mr Pockets, and four other people who I am about to send my referral link to when I finish this post.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A FREEIPODS.COM OR FREEFLATSCREENS.COM ACCOUNT UNTIL YOU ARE SENT A LINK FROM WHOEVER'S NAME IS UNDERLINED IN MY LATEST POST. I WILL MAKE SURE IT IS CLEARLY STATED WHO WE ARE GETTING REFERRALS FOR AT THE TIME.

I want in - IPOD

I can probably get a few people to sign up.

What is the easiest/hassle-free offer there is?

ebay or ancestry.com?

Mason

And a good example of what not to do: I believe Gek54 has been sending his link and now has 5 referrals. Because of that, he completely cut ahead of several, if not dozens, of people and kind of threw this thing off. I will need to know who signed up using Gek54's link so I know that they need taken off the list now.

It may have just been a misunderstanding, but I'm trying to show how easily this can get messed up. Don't do anything unless I clearly state to.

Ancestry is supposed to be pretty easy. It costs (I think) $7 and you get credit for participating immediately. Then in a week (make sure you wait at least that long), you can cancel it and get your money back.

The rules of these sites would certainly allow one person to do multiple offers, correct? The offer on my flat screen account wouldn't accept my ZIP code as valid, so I used my home address instead of the one here. Since I used my apartment as the signup for freeflatscreens, I wonder whether it will still work...

Mason-You should probably edi your first post in the thread, since not everybody will see that one. Keep the information already there for people who aren't in yet, but add that update to the bottom.

Okay, well since it looks like the line isn't as long as I thought it was (only 6 people):

I would like to participate for iPod

The line is a lot longer than that my friend. That only lists Mason's direct referrals to ensure his receiving of an iPod. There are plenty in the queue after that, he just hasn't listed them yet for whatever reason.

Maybe I'm blind, but which one is the ancestry.com offer?

For me, the ipod offers I see are:

AOL 9.0 with Musicnet
Columbia House DVD
AOL for Broadband
GM Card
Video Professor
White Smile
Nexiderm
Petcare RX
eBay

Am I missing something?

I need to find some other large forum community to take advantage of.... =)

I'm sure that some people will get great stuff, I just don't think I will get any at this point. I still wanna know if it's possible to make fake accounts just for the sake of boosting somebody's referral numbers...

You can still sign up here and then get some referals somewhere else. Help out GA before you screw over the rest of the internet :p

I'm hoping to get a few from friends so that I don't take up more than needed here, but they aren't going along with the plan right now.

Ok, the first post in this thread is what I'll keep updating. So go back to the first page and keep watching that.

but hey! mason and bruce have most of their referrals, so the thread was worth it!
This is exactly why these threads are usually locked.
