What alternate 90s did you live through? One major reason Bill Clinton isn't more popular with young liberals and democrats is specifically because of his infidelity. It was a big deal and still is a big deal to many.

We shouldn't talk about this because Bill Clinton has a sketchy past with women too? The Lewinsky scandal was a huge deal at the time. Clinton was impeached. If social media was around then, it would be more of a circus than this is.

Let me break it down for you.

Bill Clinton was a charming, charismatic man who could sweet talk women into having consensual sex with him. Cheating on your spouse exposes a character flaw, perhaps, but unfortunately it's a common thing, even (or perhaps especially) among high ranking politicians. Whether that's a deal-breaker in a politician is ultimately up to the voters. Clinton went through an impeachment process due to that. It wasn't "okay".

Donald Trump is a sleazy sexual predator who, by his own admission, doesn't try to charm women; he just assumes since he's a celebrity he can do whatever he wants. That's sexual assault, not just cheating.

Gray Davis killed his career, Jerry Brown is Jerry Brown, the other governors were Republicans. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein were the Senators for decades. Not many options really.

Sorta like New York is failed bed of producing national progressive politicians in recent years, Rudy and Pataki were Republicans, Bloomberg is Bloomberg, Schumer is Schumer, Spitzer went down in flames, nobody really likes Cuomo. If it wasn't for the carpetbagger they'd just be waiting on Gillibrand.

Brown had his shot at it the first time he was Governor Moonbeam, he ran for President in 1976, 1980 and 1992.
 
Bill Clinton getting busted having consensual relations with a staffer is not the same as Trump bragging about being able to get away with sexual assault due to his social status. One thing that drives me nuts about Trump defenders is they over simplify the issue to leave out key details.
