What we know about Legend of Zelda Wii prior to E3 2010

The original LoZ Wii artwork hints at a celshade if you know where to look.

Miyamoto and company were not kidding when they said there was stuff to be deciphered on the poster; everyone was focused on the obvious, i.e. the master sword, but there was other stuff there.

Yeah I doubt it.

How disappointing would all this be if Nintendo decides to pull Zelda out of the conference. It actually wouldn't surprise me since we always hype up an established Nintendo IP before each show (Kid Icarus, Pikmin) and are always left with nothing.

Zelda pulled...
And replaced with Startropics Wii by IS and SE.

Isn't that the last 5 minutes?

doesn't matter... the last hours music is so awesome and fitting it deserves to be posted. it's the sound of resignation when the apocalypse is faced.

I loved TPs art style as well. Seriously, get rid of some of the horrid textures and geometry, and scale back on the "dipped in tea" filter, and TP was absolutely incredible a lot of the time.

Ideally what I'd like is TPs vision for artistic detail and design, put through an "Okami-lite" filter that made it all appear slightly cel-shaded, although not to the extent of WW.

I loved WWs visual design as well, but it carries with it a certain tone, a tone I've gotten my fill of from PH and ST for a while. I wouldn't mind a return to the less "cartoony" style for this game.

i dig the Okami/PoP style for this, and if id played PH & ST i could see tiring of that style, mebbe.
playing TP right now, and i think its that very dipped in tea filter you're talking a bout that throws me off. its not awful but it greatly hinders the style, for me.

I wonder if anything on Zelda Wii will leak tonight. The official logo for Twilight Princess was leaked on Gamespot the night before E3 2005.

Or maybe it didn't.

I was actually thinking more along the lines what comes after the slash. I think it should http://press.nintendo.com/E32010 or something. I wonder if the golin/harris thing will work again.
Yeah, that's the URL for the press kit and that password works too. I was bored this afternoon so I tried it out and sure enough, I got in. Unfortunately, all that was there was "test 1 2 3 E32010 press" written on a blank page. They've since removed it, so I'm guessing they won't be posting anything until the press conference ends tomorrow.

Interesting, I got the same thing yesterday as well, which is why I was assuming the old log in still worked. Seemed to let me log in that way, although if you go through the normal splash site instead of directly putting in the url for e32010 it denies you.

Hm. Not sure if want.

God I hate rumours. I'm already all anxious that motion plus is going to ruin everything I love about Zelda and all these rumours are fucking with my HEAD

*waits for tomorrow*

Everything you love about Zelda boils down to pressing A to attack? *confused*

I'm sure they'll get the basics right, and beyond that it's really about level design
/story if you're a weirdo like me.

the part where games weren't married to gimmickry, where controls were based on efficiency and accuracy rather than some false play to immersion, where life was simple but game design was king, where I never have to recalibrate because a controller goes out of sync, where I never have to flail and worry that it's not going to register or that some gesture is going to be misinterpreted

*sniff*

The good days. When novelty wasn't king.

The old king is dead. Long live the king.

Kodiak

Not an asshole.
I'm so excited for this game.

I love how Sony and MS are trying really really really hard to make me care about their stupid Waggle HD software, and Nintendo is just making games that I really really really want.

Called this when these were announced.

Irony is hilarious.

Treasure's new StarFox to be unveiled in ten hours ZOMG! O:

...please?

This would rock so hard. I'd get some EAD Tokyo staff to help out with the graphics though...yeah, i'm a sucker for bloom lighting and fur shading. It's all we've got on Wii. :(

Someone needs to make a GIF of the moon crashing into Termina, but instead of the moon, it's a bomb. (Or instead of Termina, it's the convention center.)

aw, you cant clown camineet this year. THREAD OF IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED better be the zelda reveal thread's title. :lol
love that dude's posts/avatar too.

I saw a few posts about changing avatars to something Zelda related, and I was all "that sounds like a great idea!" for a few minutes.

And then I remembered where my avatar of the past year came from... :lol

We need the Song of Double Time from Majora's Mask! Please let the next few hours pass quickly!

For some strange reason, the Song of Double Hours, slows down time, so one hour lasts the length of two hours. And the inverted Song of Time, skips 12 hours.

I always thought it should be the other way round...

Considering a Zelda avatar switch, but the only thing I can think of to fit the theme is Wolf!Link from TP...

I gotta keep the theme, dammit.

Double time gives you double the time.

Song of Time goes backwards so when inverted you go forwards.

?

You have the Song of Double Time that skips ahead to 6 am/pm and the Inverted Song of Time, which slows the progression of time.

Song of Double Time - You double how many times you play the notes.

Inverted Song of Time - You play the notes inverted (backwards).

It is the other way around...

EDIT:

Has anyone else been getting this weird error where you prepare a post and press the "post" button and you get a forum error saying you "followed an invalid link"? I got this error like six times trying to post this >:-(

Hard to believe we are only 9 hours away from the 2010 Nintendo Press Conference and (at the most) 11 hours from knowing what Legend Of Zelda Wii is all about.

How the hell am I suppose to sleep when knowing the awesomeness is so close?
