What's your "price ceiling" for the next-gen systems?

Bout $499 unless it has a game that is truly something never seen before, then it's whatever amount of money I can get together lol. I remember watching the gameplay of Folklore for PS3 at launch and thinking how bad I loved the theme of the game. Bought it on that game alone.

Still hasn't really hit me that we are about to see these systems soon.

The amount I'm willing to fork over is proportional to the amount of games I would really like to play as soon as reasonably possible. Of course I suppose it also depends on what games on other systems I am occupied with. It seems rash to slap a number on it like that with so many variables.

I think I would be willing to go $500 but it has to have some good bells and whistles with otherwise I might be inclined hold off and save up more for one of the steam boxes.

$500 for either system considering the fact that I'll buy a few games too. No way I'm spending more than $650 (in total with games) for each console.

I have none. There will be only two consoles, I mean how expensive they could be? I'll be buying both of them for sure.

I'll pay a good 600$ for the ps4 with the rumored specs (and delay a new graphic card purchase in the process lol).

Probably in the realm of $299 for either of the consoles. I'm not saying I have any reasonable assumption they'll launch at that price, it simply won't happen, but I am more than happy to wait until they go down to that point.

I have a PC I can play around with until then, by which time both consoles will have most of the early jankiness worked out, a healthy library of games, and a lot of my friends already playing. Not to mention it'll help in choosing which of the two I'll grab.

$400 is my sweet spot if they can sell me on it and has titles I want within 6-12 months of launch. I bought the PS3 for that price too. I'm far more financially well off now versus then though, so I could see myself getting it at $600 if they somehow had totally unexpected titles at launch and sold it for that much, like The Last Guardian or something. I still like $400 though.

Up to $500 for the PS4 as it's probably going to be a beast, I love the brand, and Sony has satisfied my personal gaming needs for well over a decade now.

Xbox 3, well, I'll need to see it and what it's all about first.

Why are most of you saying 400+?
It's like you are ok with consoles being more expensive each generation, as consumers you should be asking for cheaper systems than the ones we had this generation, those that were fucking expensive to begin with. They could charge you 1000$ for next-next gen systems and you would be happy with that? It seems like it...

$350

Bought the Wii U for $350 and will buy PS4 or Xbox 720 for $350 (or less).

Really doubt they are going as far down as $350.

$400 if there are really good games out for it.

$300 otherwise.

Even though I paid $500 for my PS3, I'd rather put that money into a PC nowadays (as far as games go)

$399 max and that is only if there is a game I absolutely must have.

You guys ranting about how you'd throw $500 and $600 at a new console are part of the problem.

$400 if there's an exclusive killer app for me and a growing library. Pretty much when I bought a PS3 in 2008 and DMC4, Uncharted, BioShock, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and MGS4 were my first games.

I'll agree with the $399 but if this thing or Durango is a beast then I wouldn't mind going higher. Wii U is going to have to drop lower for me to get that though.

So long as I'm not paying more than £299 for the PS4, I'll be happy.

What I mean is, if it's backwards compatible and I can trade my PS3 in for it to bring the cash that will be leaving my bank account as £299.99 or less, I'll be happy. If it's not backwards compatible with PS3 games (and none of this cloud streaming dogshit), then I won't be trading my PS3 in so £299 is what I'd value the console at.

If it's a little bit more (like £309.99) I'd consider it with some discounted games bundled with the system, as GAME did during the Wii U launch.

If there's a game I HAVE to play, I'm buying that system. No matter the cost.

Yep. For Wii U that was zombi u. I'm anxious to see what sony is offering. I wouldn't take a free the new xbox if MS still plans on charging me for mp. Less they wanna also run a discount program to make all games half off on their system. Or have vr in every box.
