What's your "price ceiling" for the next-gen systems?

if they come at $399 i'll get one day one. Otherwise this will be my first generation i wait out a bit. I have other responsibilities that take my money

I've never paid more than $250 for a console and I don't intend to change that with the new consoles.

artist has the right idea though. I don't really care about Sony or MS first party games (RIP Wipeout), so I'll just end up getting whichever console has more exclusives that I miss out on between PC/WiiU/3DS/Vita later in the generation.

blu ray drive cant be the excuse for high costs this time around

$450 WITH hard drive, none of this seperate sku bullshit

A powerful playstation console that can play ps3, ps2 and ps1 games means anything upto £350-400 is fair game.

The better the specs the more i am willing to dish out.

If sony releases a garbage console with no backwards compatibility then it will be the first playstation console i dont buy at launch.

Will eventually buy one when Gt6 releases though

Will never buy a console for more than 399. At that point a new PC will get me farther and I can just wait for the inevitable price collapse on the console.

I'm kind of interested in more people's game price ceiling. Can anyone really stomach £50 on a regular basis? I guess that's $70 for the US.

I want them as powerful as possible.
So $600-$750

2 words K-Mart Layaway.
It's also how I got this HUGE Panasonic Plasma 1080p HD.

Really I would prefer another couple of years instead of less than 1 year. I know a lot of you are ready I just have a huge backlog & still see a ton of potential for this gen.

PS3 & 360 will smash the late entry Wii U. I consider it this gen. This system should have come out in 06.

Also BC is a must. I still have Time Splitters Future Perfect & Stranger's Wrath sealed for X Box never got to play them. Plus my Ps2 collection is crazy.

My expectation is to spend around $1500 on all three platforms; I haven't purchased a wii u yet because of the lacking software roster, which I don't think is going to change. If I don't get a wii u then that amount which is in account right now will go the two upcoming consoles.

That amount includes software.

I very rarely pay $60 as it is. It's hard to be specific since you have variables with individual games and possible LEs and stuff.

I've never gotten a console at launch but I probably won't go past $300-350. I know the PS4 and NextBox will be more than that and I'm willing to wait.

$299; I expect to have to wait for the refresh to get that. I've told myself this gen, THIS GEN will be different and I will not plonk down loads of cash for 3 different consoles to sit around and wait for games to trickle out. I'll buy the refresh and be able to load up on greatest hits style releases.

I didn't crack and buy a WiiU so, so far so good :D

Absolutely none. I've been waiting for new consoles since 2009, so make it 200€ or 900€, I don't care.

$299 with games bundled. I waited a couple of years for that to happen with the PS3 and it paid off. I saved a ton of money because I had a constant line of quality titles to choose from and I don't think I ever paid more than $30 for a game.

Being behind kept me from running to the store and buying new games for twice the price.

They might be able to convince me to buy a PS4 or 720 for $450 with the right games, but probably not more than $400 or $350. I'm tempted to just wait for the Slim versions. Xbox 360 was a mess this generation and I do not appreciate having to buy a new PS3 to replace my fat one.

Realistically, I'd want to spend no more than £400 and come away with the console and a game or two. However, this being the UK, I fully expect to wait longer than the rest of the world and pay more than them for the privilege.

I'll pay 599 for PS4, but my preference and what I think will give them the most success is 399$

If the xbox keeps too much focus on Kinect and they don't turn up production of quality first party titles then I'll probably just skip. Regardless of price I will not be buying one for the first two years after how poor the 360 hardware was in terms of reliability.

$149 or less is my price limit.

I'm waiting until the majority of games are out and cheap and hopefully faulty hardware will iron out by the time its out.

I'd spend around $500 on one of them total if the games and overall package seem compelling enough. Might just put that towards a PC upgrade instead though, get it ready for that Rift.
