Who's left to add to Smash?(As DLC or Smash5 newcomer) Some Japanese fans have ideas.

No they were actually perfectly fine on the Wii u version, they might have been even complete before they scrapped them for no reason.

We don't really know how well they were "working" on the Wii U, we just know they were working. For all we know, 8 player Smash only came about after they were cut.

Why am I the only one here who thinks classic, pre-Ocarina Ganon deserves a place in Smash?

Honestly, his playstyle would be hugely refreshing after seeing Ganondorf reduced to nothing but a Captain Falcon clone.

I'd love to see the Avatar in smash. Particularly Korra though I guess they can make the same character with various skins. The only problem is they each have their own voice.

This is even more random than my want of The Witch from The Witch's House. Wat.

As for what I want? I really don't care, as long as its newcomers at all.

I'd love it if they made a DLC pack for clone characters which came with like, 10 clones. I think we should all look forward to that idea, just because getting more clones is the best way to fill out the cast. Imagine...

Daisy as a clone of Peach
Roy as a clone of Ike
Pichu as a clone of Pikachu
Funky Kong as a clone of Donkey Kong
Louie as a clone of Olimar (w/ Brittany alt)
Captain Syrup as a clone of Link
Pico as a clone of Dr. Stewart
Toon Zelda as a clone of Zelda
Paula as a clone of Ness
Glass Joe as a clone of Little Mac

I'd be super happy with that.

I’m not a huge fan of clones, but the ones that have been featured in Smash Bros. to date are at least major characters from their respective franchises. Daisy, Funky Kong, Pico, and Glass Joe would sort of cheapen the roster for me, and Captain Syrup as a Link clone seems like a real stretch — I’d prefer if they avoided more Ganondorf situations and stuck to in-series clones.

I’d take just one unique character over 10 clones, honestly.

With respect, aside from Daisy, those characters have enough notoriety to fit into Smash.

Funky Kong - Most recurring NPC in DKC, one of only three playable characters from DKC in Mario Kart (which to me is the weirdest thing)
Pico - One of the original four main characters of F-Zero
Glass Joe - I could understand the other three, but Glass Joe? He's one of the most famous Punch-Out!! characters, up there with Bald Bull, Super Macho Man, Mr. Sandman, and King Hippo.

And as for Captain Syrup, it's not really a stretch, IMO. You take off the shield, and to be honest, all of the attacks Link has works well with a pirate character. A pirate would use a bow, a pirate would use a boomerang, and a pirate would use a bomb.

I don't understand how the Wii U CPU couldn't handle 8 Ice Climbers. I have a pretty decent understanding of how the IC AI works and how CPUs work, and if the Wii U couldn't do 8 of them then its CPU is worse than I thought.

Huh. I just can't buy the idea that they wouldn't work in 8 Player Smash. I guess it could be true but that would downright shock me. Especially if the stages are stripped of effects to make the mode run more smoothly.

Here's an odd choice. Prince Fluff from Kirby's Epic Yarn.
He could stand in for Yarn Kirby since they have the same powers.

Dillon could also work, and Takamaru from Mysterious Murasame Castle
And of course i have to rep Wonder-Red (he's not getting enough love in this thread)

Ignoring bringing back veterans, my wish list would be Captain Toad, (I've been waiting since Melee for Toad so I was salty about Rosalina and Bowser Jr. even though I think they made great fighters. lol) Inkling, Dixie Kong, Bandana Dee, a Fire Emblem If character, a Xenoblade Chronicles X character, a Codename STEAM character, a Wonderful 101 team character, and Simon Belmont.

Roy as an Ike clone is actually an interesting idea. Maybe not even a full clone, of Roy kept his neutral b over the shoulder animation, it would be unique, plus maybe Ike's side special, counter and Roy's old up special, plus pick and choose mixing his standard attacks between both Ike and Marth, he could actually be fairly unique.

My top 10 picks for next Smash:

1. Ridley
2. Starman (Pro Wrestling)
3. Inkling
4. Kat & Anna
5. Sami (w/ updated Snake moveset)
6. Skull Kid
7. Ray MK II
8. Wonder Red
9. Drill Dozer
10.Krystal

Totally agree with Sami. If they aren't going to bring back Snake, having a spiritual successor should be paramount. That successor definitely should be from Advance Wars, and Sami is one of the best choices.

If we're going to start posting lists, then:

1. King K. Rool
2. Dixie Kong
3. Tingle
4. Rayman
5. Mike Jones
6. Waluigi
7. Samurai Goroh
8. Advance Wars rep (Sami)
9. Rhythm Heaven rep (Chorus Kids)
10. Shrek

Let Splatoon come out first before we start mentioning Inkling, please.

Even Japanese Nintendo fans want Crash to become revelant again.

Dammit Activision.

lol

I mean...I'd love to see it...I don't think it's likely at all, but I'd love to see it.
Especially if he looked and acted like this

and I'd love modern remixes of the dinosaur chase music,
Crash 2's snow level, the boulder level theme, N.Gin's boss theme, the Komodo Bros. theme and of course number 3's warp room music(Hell throw number 2's in there as well.)

Crash actually has quite a lot to work with from just the 4 naughty dog games alone.

Why am I the only one here who thinks classic, pre-Ocarina Ganon deserves a place in Smash?

Honestly, his playstyle would be hugely refreshing after seeing Ganondorf reduced to nothing but a Captain Falcon clone.

I was rooting for him in the pre-release Smash threads.

I want him in so bad.

Before the 3DS killed my dreams, I was hoping Ganondorf would transform into Ganon with his down b like Zelda/Sheik. I was foolishly optimistic. I guess I was also being too optimistic when I thought Ganondorf would retire from F-Zero racing for Smash 4.

I'd rather we get Skyward Sword Impa, Ghirahim, or an accurate sword-wielding Ganondorf depiction in smash before they thrust Bowser number 2 into the fray.
Tee hee, to be honest old school blue pig Ganon would be kind of cool as a newcomer.

I want Doc Louis as a "heavy" clone of Little Mac, like Falcon and Ganondorf.

Dude is an ex world champion and he invented the star punch, plus his fight music in the Punch Out Wii demo is the best arrangement of the main theme, it sounds straight out of a Rocky movie.

Trust me that wasnt the reason, they were ripped only because sakurai wanted to have the two games have the same roster.

Ridley will never be in smash as long as Sakurai is involved.

If Ganondorf had a proper unique moveset in Smash
despite maining him in SSB4
, a Giga Bowser-style Ganon transformation for his Final Smash would've been tits. Could've even replaced his hypothetical sword with a trident to bring it back to LTTP. By comparison Beast Ganon is boring as shit.

Why do people keep asking for chorus kids ?
Just because some shitty leak said they'd be in everybody started wanting them.
It's a crap character almost nobody knows, what's the point ?

I'd like an advance wars rep but I don't know if they can make a proper 3D model and a cool moveset...
Also we need a golden sun rep

Rhythm heaven is a great series that deserves some representation but the Chorus Kids are a stupid choice. I feel like for most people the first entry they played was rhythm heaven for DS and Glee Club is one of the earliest stages and is usually the one where the gimmick of the game finally 'clicks' so they're iconic of the series as a whole solely for that reason.

Because people get attached to leaks.

6. Henry Fleming
7. Takamaru
8. Tempo
9. Saki
10. Sukapon

You're not. I always hated retcon ginger Ganondorf. Ganon would instantly be my main.

Giga Bowser may actually have a better chance at being in the Smash 5 roster than a revamped Ganondorf.

And yes, that would have been neat. But I do like Beast Ganon.

What's the matter with Chorus Kids as a Rhythm Heaven representative? No, they weren't the ones whose names were brought up when people were originally brainstorming Rhythm Heaven characters, but that doesn't mean they're not a good choice. For me, it was something like Wii Fit Trainer: a character I wouldn't have thought of independently, but they work well.

For one thing, they've been rather recurring icons of the series since their debut, appearing in the Munchy Monk Endless Game in Fever (arguably Marshall, Cam and Miss Ribbon are the same species but whatever who cares), cameoing in Game & Wario, appearing in the Rhythm Heaven 3DS Badge Center set, and being 1 of 4(?) Rhythm Heaven trophies in Smash 4. Not to mention the fact that they were rather prominent in advertisement for Rhythm Heaven DS (they're the only characters on the front cover of the game).

I also think that when it comes to "representing" the series, they're one of the best choices. I get that Karate Joe and the Ringside Wrestler are popular characters, but the Chorus Kids are inherently musical (being singers), and are therefore, imo, better suited to represent the series. Additionally, and this was something that hadn't occurred to me until the idea of the Chorus Kids was brought up in the Gematsu leak, but a trio character is pretty conducive to a good rhythm-based moveset, where attacks from the first two Chorus Kids would set the rhythm, and if the third does an attack on the rhythm (matching it like in Glee Club), that attack could receive a damage bonus... or something like that.

I don't really feel THAT strongly about which character it ends up being, it's just that the more I think about it, the more Chorus Kids seem to make sense (plus it's not like Gematsu was just any random "leak", lol). The series doesn't really have a face, so imo, Chorus Kids are more than popular enough to be the pick.
