Why are you not playing Resident Evil 4 right now?

I'm playing it and enjoying it immensely. Taking a break from it this weekend due to Evo Japan.

The remake never interested me because the original game still holds up. I've beaten it so many times that a remake seems overkill. RE2/RE3 remakes were attractive because of the complete shift in perspective. Experiencing the games over the shoulder was novel.

RE 4 has never been one of my favorites (prefer the less action oriented ones), played at the time on gamecube and i don't really care to play it again.

also, controls on xboxsx demo were garbage (enormous dead zone, and lag on the sticks) and from the reviews they are still the same, so, no thanks.

Bought it on the series x, the controls feel funny, waiting for patch.

Yeah same. I played through the first 30 minutes and held off.

I only bought it on the X because I have 2 and 3 on it. Just want to keep it all on the same platform across the board.

Because Ive already played in on the GC and it was great, visually and gameplay. I dont feel the need to play it again, same with Metroid Prime.

It's all about your personal preferences and what you look for in remakes. I think RE4 is a better game to play (at least day1) than Dead Space Remake, because it changes and improves more things (partially because it's an older game than DS1). For me the original controls were always extremely archaic so that was the main reason to pick up the remake. But yeah, doesn't change the fact that the story is the same and the content is similar.

Because is one of the most overratade games of all time IMO and it is not by any means a Resident Evil game, in fact the succes of this travesty ended Resident Evil as I knew it ..soooo... fuck this

P.s. Everyone enjoy it.. is not for me 😉😊

Because I'm playing Metroid prime, Cyberpunk, Monster hunter Rise, and refreshing myself with botw before Tok touches down.
Oh yeah and Doom Eternal which I forgot I had lol

I made it to to the valley, tried sniping and that was that.Might double dip on PC just so I can play it.

I've never been psyched about RE games. Played them all though, and never have the urge to replay em, so I always end up selling em. They're not my style of shooting/melee combat

So I'll get this one day. Probably for $29.99.

Because I've played it already and can pick it up on the cheap, just like Dead Space, in a few months after I'm done with games I am just playing for the first time. Not to mention that, for as good a game as it is, I still think it's a shitty RE game that screwed up one of my favorite franchises for over a decade, so my excitement is tempered by that fact.

I know RE4 is a really fun game, but I am surprisingly squeamish about insects (I had to quit Hollow Knight around the City of Tears) and gore and really don't want to subject myself to it if I don't have to.

I hope everyone who plays RE4 Remake enjoys it but I know my limits.

I'm gonna get jumped for this but : This, on consoles wasn't ready for release since it was rushed.
- control issues on the XSX
- IQ issues on the PS5
- D1 patch that addresses...the rain effects of all things.
- Mercenaries mode not available at launch (a mode which was included in the OG release 20 years ago), BUT, released as DLC barely 2 weeks after launch, meaning, it was ready, they just couldn't make it on time as to have it included D1.
- Same exact thing with Ada's Separate ways DLC.

I said it before but, this game shouldn't be receiving 9's left and right - on consoles at least.
I'm gonna grab it x months down the line when a "gold" edition comes out with everything included (and hopefully with the PS5 IQ issues fixed) at half the price, there's just no way I'm rewarding them with 70 Eurodollars with the game in such a state.

i'm still hoping for a patch to fix the controls somewhat. i know the xbox version has problems but the controls aren't perfect on ps5 either. just play RE2 again and see how easy it is to make headshots and how smooth leon/claire move. i'm sure the game is great though.

They made it play like more of a shooter and less like survival horror than the original though, so how does that make any sense?
Not sure if serious?
We have people claiming RE3remake is more action oriented then RE4 remake.
It's still RE4 but it now feels less of a departure from the original Remakes.
It now has a familiar darker tone and the Arcady feel has been completely gutted from it.
And with the REengine kinda mimicking the Original REmake look, the world looks like it belongs to the same world.

Likely my GOTY. Kind of sucks that the best games come so early these past couple years. But looks like some good stuff coming out later as well thankfully.

Been a pretty killer first quarter though.

My enjoyment has really gone downhill once I found the girl, Those sections where you get trapped in a space and have to fend off hordes of enemies are horrendously unfun lol. I can't remember if you do a lot more of those sections throughout the rest of the game. I don't like dragging a dumb AI through a game.

It's a good game but you're definitely right. Some sections/things are legit unfinished.

Needed another several months to cook.

Havent read any reason which makes sense, not playing this outstanding game.

Reading this, it's like 2005 all over again.

I have a backlog of games that probably could stand in as a full-time job. While I adore RE4, knowing I would not get to this any time soon (I still have not opened my copies of RE2 and RE3 remakes) there's no reason to buy now. I'll wait till it hits $19.99 on sale and grab it then. Probably will drop to that price on Black Friday. I can wait.

I was never a fan of it in the RE series.
It's action focus design was a huge turn off for me personally, same goes with the Remake.

Too many games to play.

I still didn't finish the RE8 dlc and a third person playthrough, also remakes of games that I already finished are low priority to me.

Because I'm too occupied with Lightfall at the moment. If anything, I need to put time into Forbidden West to be ready for Burning Shores.

I will get to RE4 eventually though.
