The company making money is the winner.
Nintendo and Sony are both making money.

only the trouble is that i haven't said anything about reason or emotion -- i just don't like it when real ideas get dragged into console wars horseshit. or when low business is conducted in a high tone.

Jon_Danger said:Just because I defend sony, I am a fanboy? I mean, I really hold no preference over a console. I will go where the games are, whether it is the 360 or the PS3.
I just think it is stupid to label something a failure so early in it's product cycle. The 360 took a year to take off. The PS3 won't take off till it has the software, and when it has the software and it doesn't take off. Then you can call it a failure.

It's selling better than the 360 did its first year, it's still very high priced and that alone is why it's not flying off the shelves.
The PS2 sales (which outsell the 360 cosntantly) allow Sony to bide their time with the PS3, so they don't have to drop the price so quick.

beermonkey@tehbias said:X360 is doing about 2x better than Xbox 1 would have done at these crazy high prices this generation. Think about it. Xbox 1 couldn't get a goddamn sale until they cut to $199 and $179. Imagine the huge pent-up demand that is waiting to buy 360s once they hit mainstream pricing.
Pureauthor said:Hardware wise, the X360 is not 'taking off' anywhere. Sales are average in the USA, ostensibly average in Europe, and abysmal in Japan. So your comparison doesn't work.

Seriously, if you are arguing that Gears of War did not affect 360 sales, and it was purely timing. That is ludicrous.
